I'm upset with this place. I came not to fill a prescription, but to buy several medical supplies--more than my arms could carry. I got a weird vibe when entering the store, like everyone was too "busy" to give attention to a first time buyer seeking items from the shelves of this long, narrow store. Upon grabbing a red shopping basket from behind the counter, one of the cashiers turned to me in the middle of his transaction with another customer and told me I couldn't use that basket, because apparently they "needed" to use it. There were several empty baskets not being used at the time. When I asked him what I could use to carry my items while I was shopping, he proceeded to just stare at me and shrug. Excuse me? I'm a paying customer who's willing to buy more than an armful of items. Apparently this store has no basket or shopping cart options for customers who want to buy in bulk from their array of supplies. I proceeded to get really upset, because I felt mistreated and undermined as a customer. Finally the person who called himself the manager gave me "permission" to use the basket. I made a purchase here, but am strongly considering returning the items considering my weird and unsettling experience. I hope other customers who come in are treated more respectfully. Personally, I wouldn't return to this place. read more

I used to go here a lot to get medicines for a relative and I too experienced being ignored by the people behind the counter. They have several registers and there really isn't a line so at busy times it's a competition to get help. The staff here does ignore you if they see someone they know by name and once an attractive woman came in while I was waiting for service and she got immediate attention. If they don't know you by name they act like they are doing you a huge favor when they finally get to you and act like it is a distasteful process for them. This pharmacy has been in Glen Oaks seemingly forever, at least since I moved in the neighborhood in the mid 1970s. I think it is under the same ownership, now maybe run by other family members. They certainly have a niche in the community and have not been pushed aside by the large chain pharmacies in the same shopping center. Maybe they don't need new business as they certainly don't show any degree of friendliness or helpfulness to people they don't know by name. read more

After purchasing custom compression garments from a number of different places, never satisfied with the measurements taken or service provided, this place was been by far the best. The measurements taken at Vitality were the most accurate, and helped reduced the pain I've been experiencing over many years. This was always my primary pharmacy even after I moved out of Glen Oaks. I don't know if they are now under new ownership and maybe it has been for a few years, but I feel like the service has declined. I have a prescription for an Epipen that has never been filled because they say it's on back order - it's been over 2 years (I did get it somewhere else). Also items you could readily find there they never have and always out of stock. They used to have a more personable feel when you went there but not anymore. I have to agree with Eva S - reviewer from 2017. Stopped in to buy a couple of small items, but also needed some surgical equipment. Decided to make my small purchases before heading to surgical area. There were 4 people on the line, 2 others walked in behind me. Waited, waited..realizing the staff seems to know everyone by name. That's a good thing, right? Yeah, no. If they don't know you, you're waiting until someone feels like dealing with you. That all became very apparent when the gentleman behind me was aknowledged by name, purchased his items and left. Still waiting..and they all just walked over to the pharmacy area and left me there. Ok, guess you don't need the business. I walked out without purchasing a thing and never stopped by the surgical area to look into ordering any equipment. Your loss, definitely not mine! read more

Friendly staffers at a local pharmacy somehow still around being literally next to a Duane Reade.

They might be well stocked but if you dont know them personally they are terriable at customer service even if your pregnant. They will bypass you for someone they know personally. if you're going to get a paper notarized you're better off going across the street next to the library, the guy there is much more pleasant and approachable, since this pharmacy is so busy filling prescriptions they don't need a notary. I understand they're working but I got looked over TWICE just waiting there for a stamp made me late for work. I'll never go there again not even if I desperately needed durable medical equipment or medication cause I'll just be at the bottom of the barrel. read more

I've been coming to Vitality for 30 years. Even though there are 3 chain pharmacies in the same strip none compare in service and price. They deliver and when my car was snowed in that was a life saver. About 15-20 years ago they had a small late night fire and STILL made the effort and was able to open the next morning in a space near by. read more

I am a registered nurse newly retired after 35 years at a major medical center. I have been using Vitality Drugs for 40 years. My husband's parents used them (his mother was an RN also), and told me about them. Vitality is a drug and surgical retailer. That means you do not have to deal with a cashier from a chain drug store that also sells potato chips and cigarettes. Everyone at Vitality is knowledgeable beyond belief, that knowledge includes knowing who to go to if they don't know the answer. That is a quality very important in medicine. So I get my drugs and surgical at Vitality, then go next door to Duane Reade for my potato chips! read more
