You can obtain an appointment in a few ways: Call their toll free number or attempt online. I made my appointment for today; Thursday over the phone earlier in the week because I phoned them to discuss a letter I had received from them recently. I learned that I had to present in person in order to conclude my business. Interesting was that the person who answered the call was also the person I met with today. I liked this because I felt more comfortable when meeting her as she was already familiar with my needs. Name changes are currently being processed here and by appointment only. You must present with your actual DMV drivers license and "original" stamped signed and dated by the court "seal" for some services like the name change. I'd phone them to get the actual list before presenting in person for an appointment. There was a line outside the front doors when I arrived but it soon vanished because everyone but one person wanted to see an employee for assistance. Once they were informed that was not the procedure they left. The environment was so peaceful. Security is on-site and I felt way more comfortable seeing and experiencing this as I was thoroughly screened for weapons. Made me feel super safe. Lastly, it can get costly to work on your Social Security paperwork by mail and today I learned they have over-sized postage paid, self addressed manila envelopes for the public available here. Good to see our tax dollars at work.

Looked like my odds were up. After 20-30 mins they called me back! I was so excited ; to find out they had me wait to 'help me' book an appointment. This review is more for entertainment. The staff here isn't always friendly. I'm not sure whether or not this is due to the massive overload of clients (a.k.a. "WIC" clients), or the always wonderful, ever-spreading attitude of "I don't like my job, so I could care less if anyone realizes that". Unfortunately, anyone who speaks to an employee at the front desk gets a very abrupt, cocky attitude. In other words, if they were doctors, their bedside manner would be considered unacceptable. It's difficult to address these issues when the staff manager appears to feel overworked and overpaid herself. She may be, they might all be. But the clients shouldn't have to deal with being treated with so little respect. We're all simply trying to do whatever is necessary to make sure our children are well taken care of and fed properly. As far as the waiting area goes, this has to be the only location for several cities. It's always jam packed full of mothers, future mothers, and children. Many of which will likely get on your nerves because the parental guidance reminds me of how you always have to fight your way through parent(s) with 4+ children that are left to do whatever they please. One child attempted to go through my purse, while another yelled in my ear beside me at his sister on the floor. He told her to leave my purse alone while mom stood against the wall (yes, it was that packed) playing on her phone, rolling her eyes while she chewed gum. Lovely, vivid picture that is, isn't it?

This review is not for the building or security but for the records office where you can get your birth certificate. I went in and a lovely lady assisted me. She was polite and friendly, advised me of the process and so I completed it. After I took everything back up to her, she advised me it would be a quick wait and to have a seat. At the time, I was on disability due to a previous TORN MCL injury, so I could not stand long. Mind you, I even had a minor limp. I was told I could have a seat by the nice representative processing my request. As soon as a I sat down, some guy who was not even ASSISTING me that was behind the glass, told me I needed to stand up and wait for my turn? Despite me already being assisted but everyone else was sitting? Just because one had a child and another was elderly.... why couldn't I sit down? I felt this rep needs a refresher in disability rights and to learn how not to discriminate. Not ALL disabilities can be seen by the naked eye. I am not the type to argue especially in a government/city building so I stood up and when the lady noticed this, she quickly tried to process my request to get me in and out. After a few minutes, I sat back down because of the pain I was feeling in my knee. The man, however, needs an attitude check and a reminder by HR to leave your problems at the door when clocking in to work. If the process is to not sit (which doesn't make sense.... not everyone can stand for long periods to fill out forms oR at the computer) then you should be mindful of that. Have some signs up maybe if that's the policy !

But they're started catching my attention in recent years. The City of Tracy is quietly building up more and more new buildings on both sides of the freeway near I-205. It has many more businesses opened up in Tracy, and lots more people moved to the area. On the other hand, Tracy still gives me the other side of the county and small village feels. They have many almond farms with hundreds or thousands of almond trees everywhere. The flowers are so beautiful in late February and March. The City of Tracy is still in the process of moving more closely with all its neighboring cities in the Bay Area. They built many new shopping centers in the city. Some are pretty good! Some failed. But shopping malls failed and are becoming the new normal after the pandemic now! I hope the City of Tracy will non-stop improving but still be able to keep their county feels.

I just attended the City of Tracy shredding event to help my parents out with years of old papers,…read moresensitive documents, etc. When we got there, there were several cars in front of us. We got into the line at 12:52pm and the event was until 1pm. 4 cars arrived after us and were also in line. Once we got closer to the trucks, there was an elderly woman who seemed to be taking down people's information. She consulted with another older gentleman and told us it was 1pm, the bins were full so they could no longer accept us. I informed her that we were in the line before 1pm. She just said I'm sorry we can't take you. She was polite enough, but I am disappointed with the city. They turned away the cars after us as well. If you have a hard cutoff of 1pm then you need to CLEARLY state that on the website. It just says 9-1pm so presumably arriving in the line to shred by 1pm would be sufficient. They should have accepted the cars who were in line by 1pm and then put up a roadblock sign announcing that the event is over/closed. Also, the bins are not magically full at exactly 1:00pm. If you have a cutoff time, that's fine but don't tell me at 12:59 the bins aren't full but are at 1:00pm. I will look elsewhere to take care of my document shredding needs and will not recommend people to come to the City of Tracy event unless they arrive early in the morning. I don't blame the workers but I am unhappy with the service as we had arrived by 1pm - the stated time - and I may sound entitled, but how many cars, etc. are in line is not my problem. If I have arrived to the venue by the stated time, I expect to receive the service I am there for.

SAVEMART-This homeless lady is using numerous carts for her dirty stuff and dogs. She's been…read moretelling the homeless in Manteca to come here, so now we have to worry about FENTYNAL POISIONING. She set up a rug and chaise longe and had her friend show up and one left a beat up van with flat tire.. I had to call the cops twice. Savmart did NOTHING. The other day (7/7) there were 2 more homeless with carts. I spoke to one and he said the lady told the group of homeless by library in Manteca to come to Ripon. I've seen them under the bridge by Main Street and recycle center and 1 passed out along Colony road last week. Our police use to be better about taking them to shelters, but now they"re coming out everywhere and Police are not doing anything!
