My second time trying this place. The first time I got French toast and it was barely coated with the egg custard and was as dry as could be. Today I shared the Floridian waffle and crab cake Benedict with my daughter. The waffle was decent and the warm syrup was a plus. But the tip of the squeeze bottle was cut off and it was hard to use without making a mess and getting a puddle on my plate. The crab cake was deep fried and had a lot of bread crumbs or cracker crumbs or whatever you use when you don't use much crab. Or maybe it was krab. Not sure. The biggest turnoff was Fox and Friends playing on the TVs. The owners are free to play whatever they want but my table directly faced the tv so it was hard to tune out. It definitely was a turnoff. Came into Maple Butter Cafe on a busy Sunday early afternoon and was pleasantly surprised with getting seated under 7 minutes. Fathers Day @ 7:30 am. Nice looking place. Very clean. Either they didn't know it was Father's Day, or they didn't expect such an early crowd...but they had only one waitress, and the place was packed. Service was pretty good all things considered, but tables were continually being seated, and you could see they weren't getting served as well. Additional waitresses arrived around 8:00, and things seemed to get better. Owners (I'm assuming) stepped up to the plate, and brought waters to the tables, filled coffees, and cleared plates. Waitress (Tracy) did a great job of keeping it together amidst a truly chaotic situation. Food was very good. Portions were big. Coffee was great. Menu advertised homemade maple butter (note it's the name of the restaurant) with griddle items (pancakes, waffles, etc)...didn't come with mine, so i used butter pats on table, which were hard and cold...not great for spreading on pancakes. The server was amazing and very friendly. We told her we were in a rush between soccer games. As she was bringing our drink order the food came out- it was literally 5 minutes. I work nearby and missed the previous place but, one look at the menu and I needed to go! My boss treated me to lunch for my 1 year work anniversary and all I could think about for a week was CREPES!!!! They did not disappoint! First, the restaurant was clean and organized. Great seating! You are not sitting on top of one another. This is important to me because I hate being in people's way when they need to move around, including the wait staff!
