We wanted something sweet after a Sunday afternoon lunch and found The Crepe Shop right next door. It is very clean and cute inside. We got the Nutella crepe and one with their house-made jam. The Nutella one was just what I needed and wanted. The house-made jam crepe was not very sweet, so if you don't have a huge sweet tooth, this would be perfect for you. I enjoy coming here usually but this time I would say the coffee wasn't as great as usual. The taste was there but the milk tasted more frothed than steamed, almost like a cappuccino! And even half sweet it felt overly sweet. I LOVE the vibes in here, how many plants they have, and that its screen-free and would come just for that. My rating went down from 5 stars to 1 star today because the lox crepe was very disappointing. The crepe had no taste and the consistency of a pancake and there was tiny pieces of lox rather than slices. I paid $16 for this sandwich. After talking to the counter person, she was clearly uninterested. Very disappointed and will likely not return. read more

A cute little crepe shop in Lakeview. The restaurant is nicely decorated, has lots of seating available, and is self serve. There are savory and sweet crepes and a good number of drink options available. I ordered the ham and cheese croissant with a mocha. The mocha was great. The crepe was well done, but I found it overall to be a bit salty and boring in terms of flavor and texture. My friend ordered the pesto chicken crepe, which was great! Definitely would come back to try the sweet crepes. read more

Oh boy ! Plenty of crepes for all tastes here. Sweet or savory. I went with the Matcha Made in Heaven.....Marscipone, Matcha, pistachios. It was slightly sweet - not too much. And that was what made it so good. Lots of different lattes available - I just did drip coffee. THe room is very girly and pretty. Feels like you are inside someone's she-shed. Service was friendly. I wasn't sure what to expect when I was brought to The Crepe Shop, as crepes aren't usually my go-to. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The shop has an cute vibe--perfect for bringing a book to read and is definitely instagramable with various plants hanging from the wall. As for the crepes, they were surprisingly enjoyable. I started with a classic Nutella Crepe, which was predictably fantastic (you can't go wrong with Nutella), and then ventured out of my comfort zone with a Lemon Curd Crepe. This crepe shop / coffee shop is such a vibe !! Hanging plants, cavernous bright space, fluffy crepes & amazing latte art. If you come during peak brunch hours, there will be a wait for a table. We opted to dine at the community "table" which is a sofa and stool area in the front. The strawberry Nutella crepe was a hit as was the super rich, decadent honey truffle crepe with almond crunch. History

Established in 2017.

Marius and Peter Toader always wanted to open a coffee shop as brothers, grew up on crepes. Being the primary cooks in their families, these brothers wanted to offer the world something different and did so in opening The Crepe Shop in September of 2017. An intimate and hip "hole in the wall" the concept for the space is inspired by the street food of Paris. Patrons can dine in with family-style seating or place crepe orders to-go, which they'll be given in wax paper for easy one-handed consumption or in a box for those who want to enjoy the crepes later.

The food and coffee at this place are undeniably good, but that alone falls short of what it takes to win over customers. In a fiercely competitive market like the US, where businesses are constantly competing for superior service, it's crucial to go beyond mere culinary offerings. Unfortunately, despite having been a loyal customer for two years, frequenting this establishment with family and friends, and even advocating for it on social media, I am deeply disappointed by the treatment received. There is simply no justification for approaching customers in a blatantly rude manner, regardless of the circumstances. On a particularly slow weekday morning, we apparently missed their "no screens" policy, which is understandable in terms of optimizing space and discouraging extended laptop use. However, had the approach been more respectful, we would have readily be happy and complied with the request (which we still did right away). After all, we were not seeking freebies, we're paying for food and service. Basic respect and courteous communication should be the norm when dealing with customers. "Shocking", I have come across numerous other negative reviews detailing similar experiences with the individual manning the front, who I presume to be the owner. It would not surprise me if we were just another addition to the growing list of customers subjected to such treatment. I am absolutely appalled by the experience I had at The Crepe Shop on Broadway Street today. I have been a loyal customer, visiting weekly with my family, but after today, I will never set foot in this place again. I opened my laptop for just a moment to check something on my website, and an employee immediately approached me in the rudest manner possible. He demanded that I put away my laptop because of a new policy, which I was completely unaware of. I explained that I only needed a minute, but he responded with an incredibly bad attitude and told me he didn't care. His tone was loud, aggressive, and downright disrespectful. I told him I would put my laptop away, but he continued to berate me, claiming that if other customers saw me, they would do the same. He treated me like a child, yelling at me in front of everyone. This is not how you treat a paying customer! I have never used my laptop in this café before and was only doing so for a brief moment. The way this employee handled the situation was completely unprofessional and unacceptable. It's shocking that someone with such a terrible attitude is allowed to interact with customers. To the owners: you need to fix this problem immediately. Your staff's behavior is driving away loyal customers. I am beyond angry and will be telling everyone I know to avoid this place. I've since been back many times and tried a few others but keep going back to my favorites: savory three cheese and sweet biscoff. The three cheese is super tasty. Inside is soft and gooey but the best part is the crisp layer of Parmesan. The smell alone has me drooling. Then for dessert, I prefer the biscoff over Nutella. Plain. No strawberries or bananas, just the biscoff. As for drinks, they make a mean latte. If I'm up for Nutella in my drink, the Nutella hot chocolate is my go to! It's especially nice on a chilly day. Overall ambience of the space is chill and relaxing. Very cute decor with wood walls and white brick. The cups and plates are also aesthetically pleasing and help my Insta and snaps look extra cute. I recently visited the Crepe Shop and was blown away by the experience. The matcha crepe and Belgium coffee I ordered were absolutely amazing. The crepe was cooked to perfection and the matcha flavor was spot on. The coffee was one of the best I've had in a long time. I can also honestly say that it was the best crepe I have ever had in my life. I'm already planning my next visit and can't wait to bring every one i know! The ambiance of the shop was so chill and relaxing. I really appreciated the fact that they don't allow screens, it really adds to the authentic vibe of the place. The guy who took our order was so patient and kind, he really made the experience even better. Overall, it was a lovely experience that I'll never forget. This place is so neatly designed and it is absolutely inviting. The service is excellent. The owners are ever present, very professional and courteous. The coffee served is from Counter Culture and it is excellent. The presentation is elegant, warm and creative. Menu is simple and clear. No confusion here. The crepes are absolutely delicious. It was hard to chew at times because of the gummy nature of it but again delicious and full of textures. The egg was almost sous vide or poached. It was too overdone for my liking, my yolk was hard. It also came with caramelized bacon. Overall very filling, dense. My partner got the biscuits and gravy, the gravy was sweet, thinner than I had seen but it was good. It was a little floury like it needed to be cooked a little more but it was overall good. My child ordered a rainbow cookie that we never actually got, but it was so busy we didn't care / couldn't stand up from our seats without someone trying to take them. He also got a side of bacon, a biscuit, and a glass of milk. He was happy with his food. The pie, incredible, perfectly tart. You must get the key lime. I wanted to buy a whole pie when I finished my meal but again the line.. Great place for a quick breakfast!
