We got a tour of the property on short notice from the director of maintenance, Rick. He was the most down to earth guy and he immediately put my step mom a at ease. The staff and residents were all friendly, the facility is very nice, though they're still finishing up some renovations, there were lots of activities, and the place really felt like community living (not like a hospital). They offer assisted living and memory care as well. My step mom loved it, the cost was reasonable, and we put down a deposit on the spot. If you're looking for a safe place for your loved one to call home this place is definitely one of the best options in the area. Also, the grounds are large and there's plenty of space to walk around. We just lived this place.

Low rating applies to operations outside of medical staff. Room cleaning only happened when it was requested. No fault of cleaning personnel, they were severely short staffed. Food was decent but getting the order correct happened about 50% of the time. Procurement failed to order correct products, such as briefs that fit. Thank god for Amazon. At home medical equipment was not ordered in time for discharge, caused additional expense and a bad experience. Overall the health related goals were met and went home improved, so if you can deal with the other stuff, might be a good fit.

Our father had fallen and fractured a hip and was admitted to another rehabilitation center where he did not do well. Sadly, did pass away even after amazing & compassionate care at Riverwalk Village (RW). The facilities are not necessarily top end and are a touch aged, but are very clean, orderly and well maintained. What really differentiated the care he received was the positive patient (&family) centered approach the whole staff maintains. Even after falling into a coma I witnessed staff still addressing my Dad by his name and speaking tenderly with him to check vitals and the like. The staff also did an amazing job of pivoting to a hospice care model with little time to plan and included outreach to a Catholic priest for anointing of the sick/last rights services. RW was recommended to us by our father's care team at his acute care hospital for their top notch wound care. From what we experienced and witnessed, I would highly recommend the facility. A special thanks to the following team members who made such a special impact our father's last days and made the family grieving process bearable. The nursing team is very stable with the same team daily, so they get to know their patient very well a know their needs and likes. The most important things in a rehab building is Staffing and Therapy, Prairie Lakes has both. The Executive Director Holly is very involved in the facility with Nursing, Rehab, Assisted Living and a beautiful Memory Care. The building physician is Dr Tetrick, he has been with the building since it opened, he see's every patient himself and he has James a very experienced NP. Just a well oiled building! The "manager" Kristen Dyke was extremely unprofessional and so rude. It felt as if she was only in it for the money. My mom's call light was always on when I came by (which was everyday) and she was always wet! If i could rate this zero stars I would!
