I understand that this isn't official documentation, but they continued to emphasize that they needed her history. If she was going to get the shot regardless I don't understand why they had such an attitude about it. We were there for a completely unrelated emergency situation. The overall interaction came across as unfriendly and unwelcoming. In an already stressful situation, I did not feel confident or comfortable with the level of care or communication. Any business with reception knows they make or break your business. I have only seen the vet their once before. When my mom was alive she took her cat there. Hermoine had an abrasion on her back, which was getting worse, because she was licking it. Dr. Stotz was warm and welcoming. She has a great bedside manner with her patients. She communicates well with adults too and explained each step, as we went through the process. I really liked her. Hermoine got an antibiotic shot and some topical medication. The veterinary hospital is clean and full of pet decorations. They are in the process of adding more rooms. Healthcare is expensive, even for pets. "Other emergencies came in." I understand emergencies happen... but what exactly qualifies as urgent if a puppy is bleeding, lethargic, and clearly in pain? Our dog has been laying around miserable, not himself at all, and we've had to repeatedly get up and ask when he'll be seen. Meanwhile, hearing laughing and casual conversations at the front desk while your pet is suffering is beyond aggravating. The lack of urgency, communication, and compassion in a moment like this is unacceptable. I hate that this has been our experience because when your pet is sick, time matters. Right now, I'm just left wondering... where are the better emergency animal hospitals in the DMV?!
