    Gabriel at Rehab!
    Carol V.

Rehabilitation - pets can truly benefit from it (for various reasons, as people do), and I had the great good fortune to get the highly recommended rehab and recovery services at MBVC for my 11-year-old sheltie, Gabriel (who, when only 3 years old, was diagnosed with a degenerative joint disease). Gabriel had a severe limp and very tight tendons, due in part to a large tumor that had developed under his front left armpit. He was swelled with osteoarthritis. That was April 2022. Now Gabriel - after a thorough initial assessment and development of his own customized rehabilitation program including targeted exercises/stretching, ultra-sound, laser therapy, hydrotherapy, surgery in August to remove the tumor, and additional post-surgery rehab - is a new dog - his old self - dropped a few pounds (physically) and a few years (psychologically). The. Best. Christmas. Ever. Remarkable is the only word that truly describes his transformation. Grateful is only one of many words to describe my admiration and appreciation for Katie (Gabriel's rehab coach and counselor), and Dr. Lisa Challberg (Gabriel's rehab vet). Given Gabriel's disease, he will require "maintenance" rehab which he gladly looks forward to getting from his MBVC team for years to come. Gabriel's situation is one of those exceptions that proves the rule. Rehabilitation, one-time or several, short- or long-term, for any given injury or issue, can restore and reinvigorate your precious one - and they can't do it by themselves. So, if you're sweet love needs it, I strongly encourage you to give them the gift of rehab from MBVC - it will be the best investment you'll ever make in the care and comfort of your best friend!

    Derby before the injuries.

I began coming to muddy branch vet for my puggle in 2016. He has always seen Dr. Emily Cromwell. She has the sweetest demeanor. Derby is always a little nervous when visiting the vet but she and the staff have won over his heart. I took Derby in recently due to injuries he received at boarding. I was immediately greeted by the front desk staff. She weighed him and escorted us to the exam room. Mattie came in and asked the required questions. When she left the room she heard Derby barking. She brought in a blue tooth speaker playing soft music (music therapy). He calmed down a great deal. On this particular visit, Mattie advised me that Derby would be seeing a different vet. I was not pleased to hear this. I only waited for the scheduled appt. time to see Dr. Cromwell. She saw my dismay and took it upon herself to ask Dr. Cromwell if she could see Derby even though she had a full schedule. She said there wasn't any guarantees but she would try. I was very appreciative. A few minutes later, to my delight Dr. Cromwell walked into the room. Derby and I were both happy. She is so good with him. She examined him, played with him, talked to him and gave him treats. In conclusion, she gave us an antibiotic for Derby's eye, take away instructions, and left us feeling relieved about our visit. I would recommend Dr. Cromwell and muddy Branch vet to anyone in the Gaithersburg area.

Staff and Dr. Corrigan are awesome! Friendly and knowledgeable. Staff explained step by step what they were doing and me and my pup feel comfortable and welcomed.

Today I took him for his annual wellness exam and did a blood draw to be sent to CVCA since he has heart murmurs. I was in a patient room that had fun cat memorabilia and even a sound machine for those nervous pets. They really do put pets first!

Hermoine had an abrasion on her back, which was getting worse, because she was licking it. Dr. Stotz was warm and welcoming. She has a great bedside manner with her patients. She communicates well with adults too and explained each step, as we went through the process. I really liked her. Hermoine got an antibiotic shot and some topical medication. The veterinary hospital is clean and full of pet decorations. They are in the process of adding more rooms. Healthcare is expensive, even for pets. But, as my mom would say," You get what you pay for." And, Hermoine was well taken care of. Thank you Dr. Stotz and the rest of the friendly staff at Kentland's Animal Hospital.

(In that respect, the doctor doesn't mind it wasn't me taking my pig to see her, very accommodating.) Regrettably, after my first female guinea pig that runs around and talks back to me died, I have little to no interest in the other girls that followed. I have one male who manages to have a cyst last summer, and Dr Hileman had to run a test. Everything came under control, and the pig is cleaned up tho a tad underweight. Tho I do have a dog that also sees her, but because this place is one that takes exotic small pets, I keep going back. The doctor is very gentle. (This place was recommended to me years ago, so I am just one of many that comes here.)

Do NOT apply here…read more There's only one doctor here, and she treats her employees terribly--constantly nitpicking, micromanaging, and making the work environment tense and miserable. She wonders why people keep quitting, but the truth is you either leave on your own (like I was fortunate enough to do) or you get fired for not being "perfect." You only get about 60 hours every two weeks, and there's zero room for growth--don't expect a raise or any kind of advancement. There's no direct deposit either. Your checks are mailed (sometimes late), because apparently the clinic "doesn't make enough money." Also, be prepared for constant political conversations whether you want to hear them or not. If you want to be respected and treated like a decent human being, this is not the place for you.

He performed dental surgery on my cat and there were no post-op issues. My cat was healthy and happy after the vet. The no-so-good? 1) One of the cats they let roam around had an eye infection, I was concerned the cat would spread it but the vets assistant took the cat away when a customer brought it to her attention. 2) If you don't ask enough questions, they'll surprise you with the cost of their services. This can be true of any service but I inquired about their grooming service and comprehensive wellness check. They said it would cost around $600 (because of anesthesia). When I picked him up from his appointment they charged me $1,900!! The vet performed 7 tooth extractions and did not even call to let me know. The vet said to me, "I didn't think money was an issue" Because my pet insurance reimburses me 80%. But I still had to pay up front. I was surprised each tooth cost about $50-$75 and wish they'd been more transparent. They took off $200 to make me "feel better". ALWAYS ASK QUESTIONS and brush your cats coat and teeth so you don't need a vet for that. My lessons have been learned! 3) Another thing to keep in mind. The vet performed the surgery well, Koda had no post-op issues at all! However, because the vet has to stand while operating, he charges more. This is understandable given the vet seems to limp when they walk but again they didn't let me know that beforehand. I would trust them to perform an excellent surgery but ask as many questions about what to expect before you commit.
