Most of the park is green space with seating and a playground. There are also public restrooms and a good-sized parking lot in addition to street parking. We've had a few picnic lunches here when shopping in Escondido, but I've never really taken the time to explore the History Center or depot.

Took my sisters dog and he had a great time. There were alot of homeless there but didn't bother me, as I'm a city girl. Lots of kids playing soccer and in play structure too. It's walkable to nearby downtown Escondido to get some kombucha at Dr boochart or o'sullivans for some cocktails or beer. One star down for not a lot of parking.

He made me sit underneath one of the trees on his sleeping bag for an hour straight while he did lines off his arm and told me about his stories as a pirate in the 1770s. Very odd place. I love this hike within the San Dieguito River Park especially the San Pasqual Valley segment. I've been doing this particular hike along the trail the past four years and it's awesome. Parking is plentiful and a cinch to find! I start this at the *San Pasqual Staging Area* which starts by a citrus grove, then passes a large turf grass farm, abandoned buildings, a closed dairy, and scenic views from afar amidst the vegetation and unique species of plants along the path headed towards *Ysabel Staging Area* which is about 6 miles out and back. I definitely enjoy exploring the San Pasqual Agricultural Preserve and all of it's beauty and history. There are more bicyclists than hikers along this route, which is pretty sweet for it being a mellow path. Next time I definitely want to turn it up a notch by doing one of the longer hikes which I believe will be about 12- 22 miles if I go further out. :)

Sadly, the Lake is considerably smaller that we moved here 20+ years ago because of droughts and Dam repairs. Recently, the Lake Hodges Dam has been found to have very serious problems that will require significant reconstruction or replacement. The water level will kept at the 280 foot level. It may be 2034 before the Lake returns to "normal".

This is a beautiful, clean, well cared-for park on Harmony Grove Road. It's mostly just grass, a…read moreplay structure and a bathroom, but it's super beautiful! Not a huge amount of shade so bring your sun hat! This is right across from a new housing neighborhood, but nothing else like stores or restaurants around. This is the perfect place to go if you want some quiet time outside and not a huge crowd. I love this park.

A bit of traffic getting here too around 5pm , which is to be expected . Two large parking lots and a snack bar . Snack bar has drinks , chips , and candy . There are also bathrooms . Not many places to sit , so either bring a chair or sit on the grass . I'm not sure what was by the first parking lot as we were more by the fields .

There are two parking lots, snack bar and restroom facility. The fields are in average shape and walking from field to field presents some uneven terrain challenges. This is also home to the Escondido Surf Club Soccer Program. It is a nice park and something for Escondido to be proud of. Way better than average...

It's a shame that the San Pasqual Battlefield State Park is currently closed for restoration and…read moremaintenance. As a history buff, I enjoy visiting here, the site of the only Mexican American War battle fought in the United States (December 6, 1846). It has a nice Visitor Center, public restrooms, and walking trails in the 50-ish acre park. This is also the ancestral land of the First People, the Kumeyaay. Part of the park restoration is to incorporate the history, culture, and traditional ecological knowledge of the Kumeyaay people into the Park's Visitor Center and trails. I'm looking forward to seeing the results when the park reopens.

I always would see signs pointing to the direction of the San Pasqual Battlefield. I always…read morewondered what battle was here in Escondido. I learned it was the bloodiest battle in California during the Mexican-American war in 1846. I probably learned about this when I was in school but that was so many years a go. I like refreshing my memory on history so I like going to museums when I can. The museum/visitor center is only opened on the weekends. The park is here as a reminder of the human ideals, actions, and passions that can drive nations to bloodshed. It's really interesting to check out. The museum is very small and the walking trail is really short but I did enjoy my visit and speaking to the man working there. He was telling me of the various individuals that were involved in this battle and the places in San Diego that were named after all these people. I hope to see the battle day the next time they have a re-enactment.

Hidden gem in Daley Ranch…read more... This is a great spot if you don't want to deal with the crowds on the main path. Park in the dirt lot, cross over, go over the metal gate and you're in. You'll see an information board. Be aware...there have been mountain lion sightings here. Really nice views, different paths, dog friendly, some incline.... 5 stars!

Beautiful Trail. It's got a lot of shade, perfect place to get some exercise without getting beat…read moredown by the sun. When you park, there is a trail off the parking lot... that trail is not the trail head. The trail head is across the dirt road you came in on. The trail head is marked by a metal gate meant to keep vehicles off the trail, and there is an information post about 100 ft in. The trail is easy enough for an off road stroller with inflatable tires to do. I think the trail might be a little too bumpy for any thing with solid tires. The trail does have some hills to climb. My wife and I, along with our 9 and 10 yo had absolutely no problems on this trail. We did see one mountain biker and some evidence of horses. I would definitely come here with either if you have them. Most of the trail has good head room for riders and the trails are wide enough to share with hikers. You're on the outskirts of town, so we saw evidence of large wildlife like paw prints and skat. There is signage warning you of the local animals in the area. Just watch the time of day, have a plan and you should be safe.
