I know many people…read morelove this place, and I was so excited to go here but I need to be very honest in the ways they can improve and why 3 stars and not 5 stars from us. The booking and check in process was smooth and easy. The front staff were very friendly on the phone and in person. They walked us around to show us the grounds. Our room was exactly as we expected so no surprise there. It was ready when we arrived, clean and stocked with the basics (towel, soap). We didn't have high expectations for a new/updated room as the photos are exactly how the room was. No fancy frills but clean and absolutely fine to stay in. The beds are not that comfortable but fine. The wall paper in farm house 6 was peeling a bit and wear and tear around the unit was present but we did expect the room to be outdated and didn't have any issues over all with the room. The main reason for our 3 star is really based on food, amenities, and grounds. As for food, do not have high expectations as it's very basic. I would rate it 2 at best, but it's all inclusive and does feed the mass groups. Our waitress the first night was awful, we didn't eat for almost an hour. She told us she was rusty and not ready for the groups yet. Little weird, but I guess she was being honest. The other night/day team were much better and more competent. One odd thing we did notice, food is not in abundance when it's put out for guests to grab. Once something runs out, it runs out. I'm all for not wasting food, that's very important but we noticed often food would run out (cookies, appetizers, and other items to grab-go). For example, the cocktail adults evening, majority of the finger appetizers ran out. Another night, they had watermelon for dessert and it ran out. Ultimately, we can't say we didn't eat, we did, some items just would run out and that was it in terms of offerings. Another concern was the indoor pool, it was freezing. Like unable to swim at all -cold- cold. I would think summer time the pools outside are much better, but we didn't try those as it was too early in the season (April). The toys on the main lawn near the sand pit and volleyball area are all broken and worn out. One of the swings broken and missing. The kiddie barn is broken where the kids play. The boats near the lake are all broken and dingy. I understand this place is more about family legacy and farm life, which yes is special, but most things I found are falling apart around the main lawn area especially. Just in general, broken or not cared for. I am not expecting anything to be brand new or perfect but they're run down. We did most of the kid events and the play doh was all dried out and the crafts very limited. We felt there could've been a few more kid friendly events going on (maybe a movie, more crafts, outdoor music/games, outdoor events). The activity staff seemed really uninterested when it came to many of the events too which was unfortunate. Rather than really engage the kids they often stood around. These are the main reasons for our 3 star review. The concept and legacy idea for families is awesome, but the upkeep just isn't there and not as much engagement as we hoped. I love being outdoors, and for my kids to enjoy their time outside and farm life but they need to clean up a bit here. A few things we did love, to be fair and honest, the farm animals, Pony Ride, Easter egg hunt, and magic show. They were fun and engaging. Also, my kids absolutely loved trying to get eggs from the Hens (despite the limited number, but that's not East Hill's fault, that's just kiddos who claim them all and run away before others get a chance to grab one from the Hens). I also had a massage, that's not East Hill, but their outside vendor they use in their main lobby. It wasn't very good. The lady was nice but the chair massage was not relaxing or enjoyable. She barely massaged me. I wouldn't recommend spending $20 on this add on. This spot has so much incredible potential if they just maintained it better. Such special memories for families to create here. I get leaving the rooms nostalgic and maybe the farm areas, but the grounds, toys, arts and crafts and a few other areas could use some upkeep. Unfortunately that's why this is only a 3 star from our family.

I can only give 1 star because 'no stars ' isn't an option ! I generally try to find something positive about every business I patron. I simply cannot find anything positive about this motel. It is utterly the filthiest lodging I've ever stayed in. No exaggeration! I could get past the outdated decor. I could get past the fact that the trash had not been pulled from the previous person or that their leftovers were still in the refrigerator. What I could not get past was the shower literally covered in mold, with the plywood slab on top of the drain then layered with a slab of plastic that had drain holes in it! The slimy mold was absolutely incredible. I threw a towel over the whole mess hoping to be able to shower . I couldn't bring myself to even step into that shower stall. The toilet looked like I hadn't seen a toilet brush in a century. I slept in my clothes, wondering if there were critters in this place. The next morning I threw away the socks I had walked on the floor in because it was so filthy. Suffice just say I slept very little last night, and if I hadn't been too exhausted to travel, I would've driven back to Keene for a hotel. There is no way that hotel room was worth $75 on any planet!. (by the way, next day I found out that Stonewall Farm bed-and-breakfast is probably less than a mile away. I stayed there the next night 4 nights! :)

This Inn is going to change your life…read more Months ago, all I wanted to do is book a cozy, romantic, farm B&B on our first-time New England escape. (which the Inn certainly delivered) But now...I can't stop thinking about the powerful reality of farm-to-table living and Jackie's insistence that we finally pick up and read The Omnivore's Dilemma on the nightstand in every guest room. The many awards and accolades this place continuously receives year after year speaks for itself. Let me tell you about our experience: We booked the Mustard Room and since Jackie had other rooms available, she upgraded us to stay in the Rose Room. Bonus. The bed was fit for a king and after a long drive we snoozed until the wee hours enjoying pure luxury. If only we could have spent more time exploring the rooms which were decorated with rich detail. Have fun playing board games in the front room or pick up a cozy book in the library room. The bathroom feels like a spa and the sunroom is where you need to spend your time. Better yet...get outside and explore the grounds! Learn how to build your own compost, collect eggs, pick vegetables, play with the animals and so much more. Lola just comes out and gives lots of love :) The 3-course candlelight breakfast was delicious! On how many occasions have you enjoyed a beautiful flower with your meal as you chat with the cook about how many more blooms you should eat for a balanced meal? My first popover was steamy and tasty. Too bad I filled up on the complimentary cookies in the pantry that I couldn't eat more. But you know what? These cookies were the number one recipe in town. No, really. They won the local contest for best cookie. I think I ate like 10 cookies in one hour. You have to stock up on the town's NUMBER ONE cookie!! No shame! But the food really is incredible. All straight from the farm. All organic, all sustainable. The partnership with local farms and shops is inspiring. Jackie gave us great tips on things to do in town and the best way to enjoy hot cocoa at Burdick's. (half and half). Probably the best tips she gave us were life-changing and inspiring for our future farm to table efforts. One day, Jackie! One day! You really need to stay here and taken an apprenticeship on sustainable farming. I still find myself wondering how much Coco and Lola have grown (friendliest goats in the world). While there's not a lot to do in Greenfield, New Hampshire, it's all within a few doors of the Inn. Mi Corazon is an excellent Mexican restaurant two doors down; great food, margaritas, and Saturday night karaoke was a blast. Harvest Market, two more doors down, has everything plus locally sourced products from produce to craft beers and specialty foods. The church from the 1700s is across the street but Sunday we stayed behind enjoying the breakfast spread and Keurig coffees. This is a beautiful part of New Hampshire that has kept its charm. The church bell still chimes on the hour in this small town even as time itself seems to slow down.

Parking: The lot is uncovered and does share the space with the restaurant next door. We were able to find a spot pretty easily on our visit, but it's I can imagine if we were to have come during peak season parking might have been problem Lobby: There are ample places to lounge or sit and enjoy the big screen tvs all around. There were also many areas to plug in your devices that have 3 prong plugs and there was a coffee/tea bar to warm yourself up. Breakfast: Complimentary hot food from 6am-10am for hotel guests. On my visit they had "made to order" pumpkin pancakes (you wave your hand on the machine and it'll make it right then and there), a yogurt machine, oatmeal, some egg dish (either omlette or scrambled, as well as hard boiled), some protein (sausage patty or links), bagels (with a toaster oven) and some accruements. Gym: Although I did not utilize the gym facilities my friend did and he said that they had one cycle, three treadmills, a set of weights (smallest at 5lbs) , kettle bells, and a wall mirror on one side of the room. Room: I loved the big screen tv. They had a smart tv subscription services available; however you'd need to put in your own account info to access the services. They had Disney+, Netflix, and Hulu at minimum. The bed was a little soft for my personal preference, but I did enjoy the soft pillows and the king bed. The shower had a nice hot water pressure and they supplied a large shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion that's attached to the wall. Wifi: It's good for the most part, but sometimes it would cut in and out on my cell phone. It was consistent on my laptop though. Summary: I paid around $125 a night (for a king bed) through booking.com and considering the amenities, parking, room it was definitely worth what I paid. I'd stay here again!
