I'm giving the second star because my kid still had fun at the bounce house and on the barrel ride. However, it was not worth the prices this year at all. Last year was less expensive and had way more activities for the family. It was so good last year we decided to come back, we were EXTREMELY disappointed this year. The patch was tiny and we didn't even have to take the hayride to get there. Admission was expensive and so were the pumpkins this year. Not happy at all. read more

The new Dogwood Acres, formerly Maples Farm is so expensive, I don't know how they think they are going to stay in business. I stopped in to look for a pot that didn't have a drainage hole for my peace lily I needed to repot and their pots were so ridiculously expensive. An 8 in ceramic pot was priced at $99 dollars, are you kidding me. This isn't NYC or Westchester. read more

Very nice. All decked out for Halloween. Inside the prices are very good but I felt that the price for a 2 lb pumpkin was just a little too pricey (almost bucks). But I don't mind supporting my local small business instead of the big box stores. I enjoyed walking through and looking at all the different Halloween displays. They also had a porta potty with a baby changing table inside which I thought was very thoughtful. read more

A total waste of $$$ I called ahead to ask if they sti have the Highlander Cows and was told yes they did. Arrived and payed $60 foe 4 people to find out after that they did not also everything was an add on paymenton top of $15 per person!! Petting zoo was a joke! Totally would not recommend the place and very sad they took our money! read more

Prices are OUTRAGEOUS!! $60 for 3 people! I wish I would have known this place is more for toddlers. Sadly I brought my 11 year old who was bored. I'm going to be honest I was bored as well. What a waste of $60. I miss maples farm. read more

I was here recently and was very disappointed with everything. The price of admission was extremely high for what they offer (we paid 74 bucks for three people to get in) We jump on the hay ride ready to pick pumpkins to find out they didn't have any pumpkins to pick! We had to go back to a small patch of turf to choose from a small amount of pumpkins by the entrance of the place. They took out the small haunted house, they got rid of feeding the cattle. I would not recommend the place to anyone who wants to spend a day at the pumpkin patch. Go to a different location. read more

Drove to Maple Farms to view the area and their merchandise. Not only was the view beautiful but the Shop had many ideas which one can decorate the outside of one's home with. Very impressed and will definitely come by again. read more

Great Place for Pumpkin Picking & other Autumn style activities. Hay Maze, Bouncy House & Farm Animals. Highland Cattle along the hay ride that you can feed. Reasonably priced, especially the plants. Been going here for 5 years & it's quite fun, a lot of work goes into the setup. Friendly staff as well. read more

Now under new ownership, they have given new life into the once, Maples Farms. Not just your average farm and garden center. Fall Fest offers tons of activities for all ages. Take a hay wagon ride around the farm to various stations, from the haunted woods to the petting zoo and farm animals. Try your luck at the corn cannons, it's sure to be a blast! Bouncy houses, carnival games, ax throwing and more! Food on site, lots of parking and a great atmosphere for the whole family. read more

Maples Farm might do some great work. But I will never know. I contacted them in June of 2018 for an estimate. Gentleman (Dean) came to look at the property. As of November, 2018, no response. Stopped in to discuss the delay. Left word for owner Dan to get back to me (message with sister)...never did! Sent an email...no response. Guess they are not in need of additional business. So be it! Good overall selection of landscape and gardening plants. Not a huge selection of shrubs and trees, but good for flowers. Prices are fair.

You may pay a little more for plants from Maples, but it's worth it. You get paid back in the quality of the plants they sell. They are also very helpful with garden questions and suggestions. Best nursery/greenhouse in Middletown. read more

A couple of years ago I would have given Maples a 4 star rating. Yes, their plants are a bit pricey, but the quality has always been exceptional. I realize that last summer was a weather disaster for all of us gardeners. Of the many plants I have purchased here, I have only lost one, a monkshood. When I tried to return it last year, I was told that they don't guarantee perennials! I said, even Home Depot + Lowe's guarantee all plants for 1 year. I was given a hard time about it, with them trying to somehow pin the loss on me. I was eventually given a nearly dead monkshood as a replacement. It did survive, thanks to lots of TLC on my part. Last week, I called in advance to see if they had ground cover in stock, in particular, Ajuga. I was told yes. Drove all the way there, only to find that the only way they sell Ajuga is as an individual perennial, not in a flat as one would normally find this common variety. If it were one of the newer introductions, I could have understood, but this was common Ajuga! Imagine trying to sell pachysandra as an individual perennial for 4.50 each! I didn't want my trip to be wasted, so I saw some Baptisia and decided to buy one. It was obviously a leftover from last year, and in pretty rough shape, in maybe a 4-5" pot. She rang it up at $20.00!!! I was shocked, as was the gentleman standing at the counter next to me. He just shook his head, and I just walked away. I hope they can get their magic back. read more
