peanut butter caramel cookie dough - 1 scoop in sugar cone

A Rockaway Beach classic! You can't go wrong with any of the flavors at Mara's (and there are a lot to choose from) but my favorite has to be the sea salt caramel truffle. Service is always with a smile and they let you sample flavors before deciding. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is seating inside and outside. The outdoor patio has a nice sand "beach" area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Best ice cream in the whole of queens..... varieties of ice cream flavors. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Friendly staff, Clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Just to let you all know there's always a long line. Please make the trip to Mara's Ice cream parlor... you won't be disappointed.

I remember this used to be called something else (?) but I haven't been here since before covid. The menu is expansive, like too many to choose from expansive. Tried a few flavors but I ended up going with sea salt caramel truffle and cinnamon bun. Both were delicious. I got a size small which was a great portion and price.

Mara's Ice Cream Parlor is awesome and the place to be if you love icecream (which I do so I maybe a little biased). There is a literally a flavor there for everybody. The service was great. I really didn't know what I wanted because there were so many options. Even after the taste test I was provided. The flavors were all so good and it was hard to choose one. In the end the server was very accommodating and I was able to get a brownie sundae. With three small scoops of different flavors. I would definitely return. I ate half my desert when I remembered I didn't take a picture. But i'll be sure to take a picture when I visit next time.

The ice cream flavors are fun and some of them are quite unique. I enjoy the old-fashioned sundae quite a bit. I do find the ice cream, slightly, pricey, but worth it in the end. The folks behind their counter really hustle to keep the line moving. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The backyard has a really nifty patio with beach sand to make the ice cream experience authentically rockaway.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This hidden gem is one of the best ice cream parlors in New York. A scoop of campfire s'mores ice cream in a pretzel cone is heavenly! The girls serving the ice cream are so kind and friendly. The shop is wheelchair accessible and gets great cross ventilation between the open door and backyard. All seating is outside! There is one table on the sidewalk and a bunch in the backyard. A must while in the Rockaways !

Amazing service and so many unique flavors to choose from. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have a little Sand area in the back if you want to feel like you're at the beach.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The ice cream tasted amazing

Was in the neighborhood for an event and I wanted something sweet. The owner is really sweet so is the employee. This is a woman's owned shop, which I have to support. She gets her ice cream from a family owned creamery as per the website, everything is home-made. In my picture, I reposition the duck and the chicken to take a picture with my milkshake - Maine Blueberry. The owner was smiling and explain that the kids would race the animals on the floor. How totally cute is that. My milkshake was flavorful and just hit the spot. Definitely a spot to go to if in the neighborhood.

I ordered a scoop of the s'mores ice cream and a scoop of the birthday cake ice cream in a cup with whipped cream on top. My mom ordered a chocolate shake. The s'mores ice cream had graham cracker flavored ice cream, marshmallow fluff, and chocolate. The birthday cake ice cream had vanilla ice cream with rainbow sprinkles and small pieces of cake. Believe it or not, both of those flavors were gluten-free. They were so delicious, and I loved every single bite. The line was also out the door which was a good sign. They also sell some candy in the front of the store. I really love the flavors here.

It's such a cute ice parlor with a beach backyard. Their campfire ice cream was delicious!

What an adorable place to get a scoop of ice cream. We were impressed with their outdoor area, super cozy with lively ambiance. Unfortunately, it was raining when we visited so we didn't get a chance to enjoy our ice cream there. We got double scoops with S'more and Peanut Butter Pie to share with a group of two. We love both flavors, delicious, super sweet and satisfying. There is a great variety of flavors and they also sell them in pints. We will definitely visit again if we are in the neighborhood.

The Skinny Minis are perfect for the kiddies! Absolutely brilliant!

Very few things are better than some ice cream after a day at the beach and Mara's totally delivers! With many wonderful ice cream and Italian ice flavors and toppings to choose from, Mara's has something that will surely satisfy even the choosiest of customers. A cute space with a really fantastic backyard that feels like a world away from the hustle and bustle of NYC, a visit to Mara's feels like a vacation onto itself. Couple awesome ice cream with a wonderful atmosphere and throw in excellent service and you have a place that is among the best of the best!

I was headed to the beach at my old stomping grounds in Far Rockaway and got turned around looking for parking and pulled right up to this gem. I think it used to be the Loui G Icey spot but I could be wrong the colors were different but I sent in my little gang to investigate. There was NO PARKING so I sat right out front in the car while my 13 and 10 year old ran in for pictures of the menu. I made a quick choice in Campfire S'more icecream and headed in to pay. Lucky me it was a cute little bustling shop with a play sand pit in back and tiki style decor. My daughter got a Lucky Charms shake with that home made whipped cream YIKES I have no idea how ppl maintain beach bods in this area bc I would come everyday if I lived here

Everything on the menu sounded amazing and I decided to get the BLT on Focaccia. I was disappointed with the sandwich. For the price I was expecting a large, lush, fresh sandwich but instead it was the opposite. The bread was hard and not as soft and chewy like it should be. The bacon came straight from a container; wasn't heated up, just added cold to the sandwich and all the arugula leaves had tiny holes, which didnt make me confident it was stored safely or even cleaned properly; i took it off before eating the sandwich, which tasted very basic. I would definitely try something else to see if it's any better but I was disappointed with the product i received compared to the price.

The apple pie is just perfect, apples layered with cinnamon and a flaky crust. The Salted Butterscotch Blondie was incredible. I have had their Bacon, egg, and cheese on a biscuit and it was excellent. The biscuit was flaky and is just as good as the ones I've had in South Carolina. I also really like their smoked salmon on an everything bagel croissant sandwich. The service is amazing. They are kind, helpful, and it has a very homey vibe. Paying with Venmo is different, but not a big deal, and by the second time I went there, it was just second nature. I would recommend this place to anyone, and plan to go over and over while I live in Arverne.

The location is fantastic, a 5 minute walk the beach. The inside is nice and has ample seating with Wi-Fi and outlets. The bad--each time I have gone, there's always something going on with the staff. There is one regular worker in particular who I've witnessed: - Turn away customers who want a smoothie or juice because "the blender is already cleaned", a full hour or two before closing - Complain loudly about people coming from the beach and bringing sand inside (as my group is walking in from the beach) - Go on a prejudiced rant about LGBT+ people, loud enough for the entire cafe to hear - Go around and tell customers that the cafe is closing soon, an hour before closing. One time she mentioned it several times to me until I felt pressured to leave at 2:30pm, and she closed the cafe as I left (they are supposed to be open until 3pm) I'll continue going to Rockaway Roasters anytime I'm at the beach and craving their nitro cold brew, but probably only to-go. And not too close to closing time.

I guess you could say we did the full Locals experience: a surf lesson at Locals Surf School…read morefollowed by a meal at Locals Collective, which shares ownership with, and is only a block away from, the surf school location at Beach 69th. Locals Collective is such a sweet l'il cafe. The vibe is relaxed and lovely, with friendly, helpful staff (especially the woman wearing the ramen cat shirt, whose name I didn't get, unfortunately). The menu is small, but includes some healthy options like the breakfast sammy (with two eggs, avocado, sprouts, tomato, Monterey Jack cheese, and spicy aioli on whole grain toast), acai bowls, wraps, overnight oats and that sort of thing. The breakfast sandwich wasn't very big -- or rather it was a normal size, well filled, but made with commercially standard-size sliced bread, not a hero, sub, or roll -- and was perhaps a touch spendy at $12. The Progeny inhaled the sandwich after snarfing down a sushi roll we'd brought -- and still wanted two large protein bars, after. (I guess surfing cultivates a good appetite.) He said he enjoyed it, though. My iced coffee was a touch weak, but serviceable. There's pleasant seating indoors and out, with a few folks working on laptops. There are quite a few dining options on this particular block, including burritos, pizza, ice cream, and a few full-service restaurants -- but in terms of aesthetics and overall look-feel, Locals Collective takes the win. Surf boards (I think soft tops only) are available for rent at Locals Collective, for $35 / 2 hours. Prices are a bit higher than at Breakwater Surf, which rents for a jaw droppingly low price of $5 an hour -- but Locals does offer additional amenities like changing rooms and a shower, which I'm prima-donna enough to think is worth it. You can also rent a wet suit, which you'll probably want if the air temp is anything cooler than 75F. Waves at Beach 68 are fairly small, but reportedly consistent. We'll be back for more, I'm sure.
