I want to start this off by acknowledging the staff. We were greeted by the owner who was such a nice guy. The rest of the staff were phenomenal as well. The outdoor seating was so nice. Multiple TVs. The owner asked the kids what they wanted to watch. He put on Disney + & the kids enjoyed Toy Story. I had the Roadhouse roast beef sandwich. Really good. My wife had the Tex Mex Salad which she brought some home, because it was good and couldn't finish it. I think this is a great spot to grab some lunch & possibly watch a game on Game Day. THIS PLACE IS OK......Is a nice looking place, has a lot of outdoor seating with TVs! This is a sandwich shop with a not big menu. But looks like a good selection! I got a Basil Pesto Grilled Chicken sandwich with a chocolate milkshake!! The sandwich was ok... but lacking in flavor even for a basil pesto! The milkshake was good! The service was NOT THERE!! the girl taking the order was lifeless .... Barley said Hi ...as I walked up to make my order, she talked low so I had to lean in and ask again... giving me a look of exasperation! I was nice and friendly but didn't get any of that back.... She gave me my order with just saying my name with a face of like- she would rather be anywhere else!! It just made me feel uncomfortable like I'm friendly and spending my money here... why can't you even give me a smile or say "thank you, have a great day" none of that... just handed my food and walked away as I was SAYING THANK YOU!!! But this is a place in the nice weather you wanna hang out on a picnic bench, have a cocktail listen to music or and or watch a movie in the summer. In the big well-maintained seating area that's outdoors. This is surrounded by beautiful trees that have lights on them and it's just a very relaxing place. Came around 9:00pm on a Saturday for some dessert. We decided to grab a burger and chicken sandwich with fries. the food was good. The dessert was really bad. got a waffle with chocolate ice cream. They put it in the bag with the hot food. It was immediately melted and weird. I asked for more ice cream and they did it. No problem. The waffle was like a brick. Very strange. Love love LOVE it here! This is the perfect post beach eat seeing that it's only about two blocks from the beach. You may have trouble finding parking close by but I promise it's all worth the search around the block. Callie's is fenced in and it gives off park vibes ( lots of room if you want to bring your dog, I guess) . Theres plenty of picnic tables with umbrellas for shade and lawn chairs too. Definitely a Covid-19 friendly spot considering all seating is located outdoors. As you enter you'll see a window where you order your food/drinks. I had the fish and chips as well as the sweet chili crispy cauliflower...The cauliflower was divine. Had the right amount of crunch, and (since I like to smell my food as much as I like to eat it) I would like to note that the spicy (not too spicy) aroma tingled my nose in the most satisfying, dreamy way. Anyway, the fish and chips was pretty awesome. The fries were perfect too. This was one of those meals where I get full half way, but power through to the end because the food is too good to let it get cold/go to waste. Now the cherry on top is that there is (a bathroom) a bar on the opposite side of where you order your food and regular drinks. They have this delicious frozen strawberry lemonade that they sell for $5 a cup, $10 if you wanna add some alcohol. I also must mention the wonderful selection of sauces they have, but you will need to ASK for them. The tartar sauce didn't come with my fish and chips, but don't worry it and the rest of the condiments are free. I def will be coming back soon! read more

The owner doesnt want to higher more staff! Gave them a second chance and tried to ordered by phone. Good luck 45 minutes on hold! Home Callie's home So I grew up on the beach, and always seek places that make me feel at home. It's almost like this place was made for me. Not only is the bar a 5 min walk from the ocean, its as local feeling as they come. As in, the local softball game we just passed let out, and both teams showed up for a round, kinda local. Again, my kinda place Walking in, you'll find a bunch of picnic-style tables, and Adirondack chairs, along with a small fire pit that wasn't lit the night we stopped in (LOVE a fire pit). You order food at the counter closest to 129th and pay, and grab a table. If you're like me, you'll head to the other side of the little building and order a drink at the bar (same building, not the same window). Yes, they have a little outdoor bar with a few large TVs that play local games (the Yankees were on when we were having a light dinner and happy hour drinks). The patio on by the bar also has a deck, which I imagine is nice when it's wet (the main area is ground). The bar slings cocktails, frozen drinks, homemade hard ice tea, and also has little coolers outside where you can just grab a beer and let the bartender know. I love this - the bartender was on break, I grabbed a claw and nodded to her. Felt just like I was home. Decent enough food (I had fish n chips), reasonably priced drinks, and a killer vibe, if you're looking for a spot to get off the beach and grab a beer, look no further. read more

Saw this online and drove over to have a late lunch after a beach trip. The garden is super nice, a bunch of wooden benches in the middle of shrubs and flowers, off to the side is a section with high tops and feels more like a bar. We ordered at the main window, and they said it would be around 20 mins. We were happy to sit in the garden in great weather and hang out. The food was pretty basic, shrimp and fries had some super over fried oily shrimp, fish and chips was ok, fish sandwich was alright, and my son loved the hot dog with Mac and cheese (yuck/yum..?!). Main problem were the kids serving / taking orders, it seemed like a bunch of teenagers running the show, and they were messing about with each other and swearing. The kid taking our order ignored us for a bit while he ate his lunch. We ate our ultra deep fried food (They got our order wrong and I had to sit there for another 10 Mins while they added a meal which was on our list ask paid for but didn't come out). Then we went back to the counter to order some ice cream for kids dessert. They have chocolate and vanilla- but kid said vanilla was out and we would have to wait 30 mins for vanilla to be back on. We ordered 4 chocolates instead and paid. After 5 mins or so we saw a couple of girls walk away with vanilla which was annoying. 15 mins later we still had not got our ice cream and others seemed to- we went and asked- the kid serving said he had not actually told anyone about our order which is why we didn't have it. So they quickly got it for us. The ice cream was nice but whole thing got quite painful. Also the kids behind the counter were really not making much effort. At one point one of them told one of the others to stop f***@ing messing around and f$&ing swearing.... right in front of a bunch of children. Whoever owns this place would hopefully be horrified to realize what their staff is doing and how badly they are doing it. Place has potential and a nicely laid out venue but needs a staff shake up. read more

I have to admit that I was skeptical when approaching this place today a guitar player was in the corner and there was a crowd of people seemingly enjoying it. But I was wrong, my order was taken by a friendly girl and she explained the menu item had changed but suggested that I order the All American burger & fries it was delicious the burger was very good and the fries were fresh out of the fryer as if they were cooked on the sun the perfect amount of salt seemed to be added at the finish to compliment this great meal. I was so excited to eat here until my daughter and her friend went to get drinks when the lady told them she couldn't serve them because they were wearing bathing suit tops. The place is a few blocks from the beach, so it makes sense to have people wearing bathing suits. The lady also kicked out 3 other people after she refused to serve our kids. It would be nice if they let you know they've changed the chicken tenders. There's constantly multiple variations and when feeding small children the price adds up to be served something that is nothing like the last time. A simple hey we've changed our tenders again would be nice. Bait and switch really isn't the best way to go but I guess that's the Callie's way read more
