After reading some of the bad reviews I was quite disturbed. The reason is because I am using this car service since before my 36 year old daughter was 3 and they sent a limo when I didn't order one since they knew I was going on a personal trip to Disney. I had been using the service for a year at that time for business trips. I am still using this service over 3o years several times a year . My son used the service for business as well. I had a driver who I thought was not a pleasant as everyone else once. He never came again to pick me up. It was my only complaint. I am always nervous and travel quite frequently. They are always early enough for my anxiety to dissipate and on time for the airport pick up as well. I would never switch. Marathon Limo is a very pleasant experience every time. The cars are clean, the drivers are excellent and the service is impeccable. We have used them many times, but most recently to pick up my cousin from Norway at Newark airport. I totally screwed up and gave them the wrong date! Thankfully, they always send a confirmation email and when I noticed my mistake I panicked because the actual pick up was that day! I called them freaking out, Kathy was so kind and understanding and patient. She was able to change the day and arrange for a car to get there ASAP and my cousin was not stranded! Watch out for a switch in price from your confirmed reservation!!! Everything was going fine with this company on our recent pick-up at Westchester County Airport. The reservation system online worked well and the individual at the office was polite and helpful. They also called the day of the pick-up to confirm, which was reassuring.The driver was there and waiting for us at the airport when we arrived. He called my cell and asked me to call back when we had our bags because he was in a limo-waiting area about a minute away. That worked fine. But when it came to pay the driver when we arrived home he asked for $15 more than the agreed upon final total rate that had had been confirmed and emailed to me by the company when I made the reservation. I showed the driver the copy of the email that had been sent to me and, of course, I paid the proper lower price. But this should never have happened. Just beware of this. I contacted Marathon about this and got a prompt explanation that there was a new dispatcher and he wasn't sure on the rates for my location. But I don't see how a confirmed reservation with a price that has been sent to a client should be in a position to be changed at all...something isn't right here. Also, while the driver was nice and helpful...he drove very fast, and made quick lane changes on the highway...without even signalling. Not safe driving. I didn't appreciate that at all. read more

I have used them several times but will never use them again. On one trip the driver arrived late and then had to stop for gas along the way to the airport. That never happened to me before. The next time we used them the driver picked us up at the airport with his wife in the car. Come on, can you be any less professional then that? Never again. read more

The service was on point. First impressions are important. This car service was recommended by a family member. I called and made arrangements for my daughter in law to be picked up from Newark airport. I spoke with Nancy who was very nice, knowledgeable and professional with the booking. My daughter in law loved that she didn't have to wait for the driver. He was very professional with his greeting & driving. He was also pleasant to have conversation with. Marathon Car and Limo Services are a deplorable and completely unethical company. On my wedding day this past Spring, my family and I were left waiting for a limo that came 45 minutes late. This resulted in myself (the Bride) and my family being late to my own wedding ceremony. Waiting for the limo to arrive, in the driveway, in my wedding dress, I was asked by the limo company to provide directions to my house over the phone. I waited another 35 minutes before I began loading my family into a car to drive ourselves. This is when the limo arrived... When the driver arrived he was rude, and unapologetic, claiming 'his GPS led him to the wong address' (while the residence is on a main road in Pearl River). The limo was filthy on the inside and outside. Soda stains made for a sticky inside bar; there were even a large dent in the driverside door panel and the felt roof was ragged... Although only 3 miles away from the Church, this limos tardiness and disregard for the job they were paid to do made me late to my own wedding ceremony. Disgraced, the Limo company was approached via phone three days after the wedding and at first swore they would make things right, and would provide a $200 credit towards our bill. THIS NEVER HAPPENED and when I called to ask about it, the owner was very rude and abusive to me on the phone. We wrote a formal letter, called our credit card company (to no avail), and never recieved any word back from Marathon Limo. No resititution of any kind was ever made. 0 STARS! Never have I had an experience with a car service so poor. The driver arrived late and when we called to confirm with dispatch they said he would be one minute (he was 5). Upon arriving at the airport, we were not given the quoted lower rate and were then informed that we must pay his return tolls. Additionally, he said there was a "required" 20% tip that was never mentioned in the quote. In attempt to dispute the 20% and tip what we felt was appropriate, the driver immediately and repeatedly threatened to call the police on us if we did not pay the 20%. He also did not wear a seatbelt and was constantly typing on his phone. Forgive me if I am wrong, but both are illegal in NY and NJ. read more

Limo Driver made my bride LATE TO HER WEDDING. Came 1/2 hour late "because he went to the wrong address". Limo was filthy and sticky inside (coke spilled on the bar), and the front drivers side quarter panel was crumpled. The leather limo top was freyed and ragged. Bride and Brides Parents had to DRIVE THEMSELVES TO their OWN WEDDING. Met the limo half way to the church on the road and then got in. Unbelievable. Driver was LATE, unapologetic, and a real piece of work. NEVER AGAIN. BEWARE. read more
