I have read some of the other reviews, and I wanted…read moreto take some time to tell of our experience and the wonderful customer service that we received from Nadia and the entire staff at the Inn at the Wharf. Let's start with check-in. We arrived in the afternoon/early evening and were greeted instantly. They had everything ready to go, and we were checked in and in the unit within a few minutes. We stayed in the Cliffside (I have slept since then, but it was a bottom-floor room on the ocean, and was Cliff something if I am wrong). The restaurant was closed that evening (we came during off season), and we were directed to a local restaurant (Review is already in for the Water Street Tavern and Inn. Our unit was spotless and had all of the necessities. We did not try the TV (as we were not there to watch it, to enjoy the scenery and time), but the unit was cute. It had a bed, table, chairs for eating, a microwave, TV, coffee machine, two chairs, and deck chairs. It was perfect for our short stay. The bathroom was large with two sinks and a shower/tub combo. We did not really hear anyone, but again, we are in the off-season. The bed was not the most comfortable, but it was not horrible either. There were no issues with temperatures, and the sliding door to the deck was perfect for viewing the sunrise at 5 a.m.! Unfortunately, I left my Apple Watch and only remember hours after we had left. We could not turn around, so I called and eventually spoke with Nadia. She was extremely kind on the phone and in demeanor, and helped tremendously in ensuring I got my item back. Nadia was fantastic in ensuring my item was found and mailing it back to me just a few hours after my call! She provided excellent customer service and did it all with a smile I could feel on the phone. , We also ate breakfast at the Inn at the Wharf before leaving, but it was Mother's Day, and there were not many restaurants in town that served a Mother's Day breakfast. The food was terrific, but we knew that time would be an issue, so we are not stating anything about time. I had the blueberry pancakes and they were terrific. Customer service was excellent, and the place was full! PROS: Views for miles, sunrises that you simply die for Not connected to the main hotel, so feels like an apartment/condo Lots of space on the front deck to sit and view the ocean Local grocery store, no issues finding what we needed Local chocolate shop, Monica's, was great,t and Monica was super sweet CONS: Small town (which is not really a con, but can be if you are looking for activities) Parking is tight

a trip to maine--obviously, but i need to point out the obvious--and why a trip to maine you ask--a…read morephone conversation with my girlfriend and we figured out that the two of us have never been to maine--other than me but it was a drive from new hampshire to portland to fly out. anyway, there was one light house in particular that she needed to see--and she had it in her phone. and of course it was the west quoddy head lighthouse. so we hopped in the car and drove to lubec all the way from albuquerque which is a long story in itself. i was tasked to find lodging all along the trip, and realized that there was not a lot in lubec. Found the West Quoddy Station, and sure why not give it a try. We were so glad we did. the first thing we noticed is that it was QUIET. peaceful quiet. and was everything as advertised. we had the starboard bouy barn, and it was nice and roomy. having a kitchen meant we could just get something in town and cook in the room. to be able to just have a nice meal and enjoy the scenery was fantastic. the room was nice and warm for may, and the shower was terrific. big bathroom which is a plus. definitely worth the drive!!

This place is located in one of the most beautiful areas in Maine. The grounds and the buildings are gorgeous, as are all of the surroundings. The exterior of the buildings is immaculately maintained and the landscaping is lovely. We stayed in the Cabin. I booked it because of location and the history of the building. The photos showed it was primitive but clean, and I'm fine with primitive, as long as it's clean. Check in process is very old fashioned...you arrive to find your name on a public bulletin board outside the office, and go to your unlocked cabin to find your keys and a printed welcome note with instructions. Obviously this is not an automated process, and a decent amount of effort goes into this process every day. It was actually quaint. The management had sent a very nice email with a long, detailed list of interesting things to do & amazing sights in the area, along with how to access them. This was very thoughtful & helpful! As stated earlier, the location is breathtaking. Several wildflowers were blooming, including lupines, and the sweeping views of the water were just gorgeous. We loved strolling the grounds and got some amazing photos. It truly felt like "real Maine", not some tourist version. When we arrived & got into the cabin, we noticed an odor that went beyond the usual musty old cabin smell. But it was still at the beginning of the season, so I assumed the old cabin had been shut up all winter and just needed to be aired out. It was fairly dark inside even with the curtains open. I was disappointed to see the leather chair that looked comfy in the photos was actually very old and the seat had what looked to be broken springs showing through, so we didn't sit on it. The kitchen appeared clean & very well appointed with everything you'd need to cook your own meals, including a full size fridge, toaster, microwave and a gas range, and every cooking and eating utensil, including a tea kettle. The bathroom appeared clean, with thick towels, a hair dryer, and soaps/shampoo/conditioner. We opened the windows to let the fresh air in, anxious to go exploring the lighthouse and surrounding area. When we returned, the cabin had still not aired out. Upon turning down the beds, we saw there was a lot of pet hair on the bedspread and on the pillowcases and sheets (we were not traveling with animals). Upon turning on the lamps we saw the shades were stained and there were cobwebs and piles of pet hair on the floors and in the corners, and it was at this point that we noticed one of the bath towels didn't look clean. I'd now lost faith, but there is very little in the way of other places to stay in the area & it was already getting late. My husband said "it's only one night" and we were getting up early the next morning anyway, so we quickly ran to the local Dollar General just before they closed and bought our own blankets and towels. We made the best of it, getting up at 4am (the sky was already getting light at this time) to see the sunrise at West Quoddy Lighthouse, which was an amazing experience! In the light of the morning we saw just how much pet hair was on the floors, and it was pretty gross, but by then we were leaving, heading out for our next adventure. This is my advice to anyone booking the Cabin at West Quoddy Station: check your expectations. We didn't experience any of the spaces other than the Cabin, so this review is only for that particular building. The Cabin IS quite primitive, it smells very musty, and the level of clean was not to our personal satisfaction. But if you're up for some history and adventure and as my husband says "you don't mind feeling like you're staying in some random guy's hunting cabin", you might find yourself having an adventure in an historic building at one of the most beautiful spots in the U.S.

When we arrived there were two cups and 2 k-cups for us to have coffee in the morning and all the normal things like towels and soap in the bathroom. After the first night we just normally expected trash would be taken out, new coffee, maybe new coffee cups. Standard quick tidy up. It didn't happen. So the second night we put the hanger on the door asking for service. It didn't happen either. Office was only open 8-noon. We left before 8 each morning. The notice on the door in our room said cleaning was 9-1 each day. Clearly the owners are not focused on this property or the guests. We heard they owned another property and might be there if we needed something. Shockingly, following up on whether or not we got clean dry towels was not our priority either during our stay. I would probably try another spot next time.

The owners are so nice and accommodating. I felt like extended family, and I mean that in the best way possible. They have a super cute little dog and two nice cats. Of which never bothered us, in fact I think I bothered them by trying to pet them :) They included breakfast which was AMAZING. The chef is also the owner and he is so nice, each morning they chatted with us bout the local area and in general were just very nice. I couldn't ask for a better way to start my day. My only real complaint was that my bed was small, but that is due to having shared a room with a co-worker, we had the two bedroom. I am sure the one bedrooms have bigger beds. Overall I would say this is a place you should stay if you are in the area. Go, relax, have some wine and chat. Most of all, forget your problems and worries, even for just a moment while enjoying coffee and looking out onto the river.

With that said, construction and maintenance was a daily thing. Our room was comfortable and had a porch. It badly needed painting. Construction on a path below our room was ongoing into the evening. Did not try all the dining venues but what we had was great ie fish and chips, mussels, artichoke dip, Canadian beers and gin and tonics. Beautiful views, recreation included 2 pools, fitness room and bikes. Staff was very polite outgoing and attentive. Would love to return.

My room is a lot lot smaller..,,it is very nice and clean. But who doesn't put a closet in a hotel room?!!!!! There's nowhere for me to hang any of my clothes. I am on a work trip and I have to hang up nice shirts and dresses. There's nowhere for me to put anything except for two drawers. And No ironing board??? I mean... Do they want me to have to call down there and ask for someone to bring it to me so then I have to spend $10 and tip somebody? No. also, the amenities in the room are very lacking. There's one teeny little thing of body lotion and a little small bar of soap. Usually at least you get some cotton balls and some Q-tips :-) there is a coffee maker but no to-go cups so I can't take it in the car. Then I was starving and when I got here and checked in at the front desk, I was told that I could order from Braxton's and take it up to my room and I could not wait to get a steak, but they wouldn't even let me take a steak to my room. Their response was no you can sit at a table but we can't let you take anything to go. The steak would not be good by the time you got it up to the room and would not be the right temperature. Wait what? I'm on the second floor. The hotel is very small. It's two seconds to my room. And what about what if I want that?! I said i didn't care if it's a little warm when I get it to my room. I said I wanted a steak. And you're not gonna let me take it to my room? I don't understand. I did not want to socialize. I've been traveling all day. I did not want to have to clean up and sit in a loud public place. I just wanted a good steak and a Caesar salad. So I had to order room service, which has maybe 5 entrees to choose from. Lastly- When I called about two weeks ago and asked since I've been in marriott bonvoy customer since 2008 if they could upgrade me to a balcony room (and for context last time i did not have any trouble doing that - they upgraded me with no )....this time they told me that they would have to charge me $150 more a night to do that. Good thing that the company is paying for this because if I was, I'd be furious.
