This is not our first time…read moredealing with a restoration company as my family and I had unfortunately suffered water damage in the past. Our public adjuster highly recommended Restoration Xpress and therefore an appointment was made to begin their services. The company was almost one hour late and never notified us at any time that they wouldn't be arriving at the original scheduled time. When the technicians from Restoration Xpress arrived, they took what seemed longer than usual to assess our damage and set up the dryers and other machinery. During the time of the dryout my family and I had a pre-planned trip. My wife spoke with one of the Supervisors present during the set up of the dryout and expressed concern over her clothing in her closet, as that was one of the areas affected by the water damage. My wife and I would not be around to assist in any of the removal of any personal belongings in the closet. The Supervisor reassured her concerns and stated that he would remove all of the clothing off the hangers if they would be putting the dyers in that area--to further avoid any dust, dirt or debris from getting on my wife's personal items. To our dismay, the only items moved were what was directly on the floor. Once the dryout was completed my home was left filthy. The technicians along with the owner (Isaac) gave attitude in regards to sweeping and vacuuming up the debris. In addition, my wife's clothing was never removed as promised from her closet--resulting in dirt and debris embedded into her clothing. The owner refused to accept responsibility for this. To make matters worse, one of my closet doors adjacent to my wife's closet door is mirrored in which was broken during the dryout. The owner, Isaac gave me a hard time about fixing it by telling me "put it through the insurance". I refused by saying that it was an issue that they caused and they should put it through their liability insurance, not mine. Eventually (and after much back and forth with the hostile owner) he agreed to pick up the mirror and have it fixed. Fast forward a month later, I had to call to find out the status. Shockingly, it was ready that day (I am sure it was done earlier and he had not gotten to it). The owner came out to put back the mirror door and realized he left the handle at his office. He said he would come back to fix it the next day. That next day, he called and said he was dropping it off and that I needed to put it on myself. I gently reminded him that he broke it, not me, and that he should put it on. He began giving me a hard time by saying that it was not a priority and he has other jobs to do and he will get to it when he can. Mind you, this should have been done correctly the first time. I finally had enough and told him to drop it off and I will do it myself. If you are even remotely considering this company, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. As someone who has been through this before, there are much better and reputable restoration companies out there. I should have listened to my gut and never let these people in my home. The owner, Isaac has done nothing but talk-over, be-little and treat us with the utmost disrespect. Experiencing water damage- or any other type of damage is devastating enough and the last thing you expect is to be further stressed out and disrespected. I would not recommend doing business with this company and hopefully Restoration Xpress can take this opportunity to learn and grow from this situation and improve their customer service relations.
