Last night, 3/14/24, we showed up at 9:40pm. When we walked in, there was a lady sitting on the counter watching a movie on her phone, and a man walking around talking on his phone. I walked up to the counter and they said "sorry. Closed" I said "the door says you close at 10" and they said "We start our cleaning at 9:30. We are closed." Wish I could give ZERO stars... I read the awful reviews before going, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and thought "There's no way that all of those are true!" I should've listened!! I grew up going here and have many family memories at Marble Slab in CH. I couldn't be more disappointed in the owners allowing this service. From the sound of it, it's time to close their doors. This used to be the ice cream place to come to, but it has gotten terrible in the last few years. I'm reminded of why I don't come to this location anymore every time I step inside. It is disgusting. The counters weren't wiped down. The TV's were off, so you couldn't see any options. They apparently don't make their own waffle cones and waffle bowls anymore. They're store bought. Our ice cream was practically melting by the time we sat down. Last, but definitely not least.. the bathroom was absolutely disgusting. They made it unisex, but the problem is that there wasn't any toilet paper in there and all that could be used was paper towels. Ew. Never will enter that establishment again. Yuck. read more

They "never" got my order but when I showed up w my confirmation they said they never saw it come in and their freezer was broken. I placed my order a week ahead and I didn't not know this until a week later when I picked it up. Do not recommend this location. read more

this establishment is beyond filthy, as soon as I walked in, I went to the counter to get refunded for a cake I pre-ordered , a few days before. At first he refused to refund me and then after I said, I would not eat from this establishment because the city needs to come out he quickly refunded me. read more

Not a good experience at all. The store is drab. The workers were rude. I didn' t initially notice that we weren't greeted but, it didn't take long to notice how unfriendly they both were. There was no "thank you" or acknowledgment that we had just done business. The female was aggravated because we asked for additional napkins when she originally gave us one napkin each. Then, the add ins weren't fresh and what should have been cheesecake flavored ice cream taste like Greek yogurt. Just put a chain on the doors already. It's dead! read more

I've cream is great as usual, a super close second to Ben And Jerry's (USA's best ice cream)! The kids behind the counter were friendly, which is a plus, especially since service in Cedar Hill (EVERYWHERE) is sub-par at best! My only complaints are two. One flavor of ice cream appeared to have freezer burn. Additionally, it looks as if the ice cream freezers have not been defrosted in several weeks. It makes me wonder if they store the ice cream in the back freezer as they should each day. I certainly hope this is not corporate standard, but possibly just bad management at the store level. I certainly hope the health inspector wouldn't find this acceptable? I attached pictures so you can see what I was talking about. My cousin and I walked in and out yesterday. There was an odor that would make you think the establishment isn't clean. Very noticeable!

This is a small establishment with 4 tables and about 13 seats. Tables aren't always clean. They usually have a staff of 2 high schoolers who don't have the greatest social skills. They'll take your order and mix in your oreos or sprinkles but don't expect tip top service. Expect tasty ice cream. If you want great service go next door to bath and body works. Those ladies are so helpful and attentive! Sorry got side tracked. The ice cream is pretty good if you don't want something from the grocery store. They also male ice cream cakes but I can't say if those are good. I've never ordered one. This place is worth a visit. read more

DISCLAIMER: I'm not one of those ice cream snobs who will fight with you about Marble Slab vs Cold Stone. It's all pretty much the same to me, if I'm going to be quite honest with you. Came here twice this past week. On one day, I needed to treat myself. The next day, my cousin needed to treat herself and her daughter. She's a 'Cold Stone' person, but wanted to give this place a try as nobody feels like driving up 75 North for ice cream during rush hour. (At least, I'm not The One for that.) Customer service here is pretty good. Employees aren't freakishly-smiley and happy-go-lucky; they're pretty chill and inexpressive, but they'll give you what you want. I admit I tend to be a bit of a chocoholic, so I'm sure asking for EVERY type of chocolate they had mixed into my ice cream made them want to hit ME with a marble slab, they were respectful and cool about the situation. Confections are clearly pricey ($6-$8, depending on what size you get), so this isn't something I would get every day, or even every week. Pace yourself. But when you want to treat yourself to something with the works, you can probably enjoy yourself here. Unless you're a Cold Stone snob. Then go to freakin' Cold Stone. Your standard store in this chain. The Good: everything you'd come to expect from a standard marble slab. They got new concoctions rolling out regularly. Great for grab and go, not so much for sitting and enjoying out of the heat. There is also ample parking. The Bad: I am not a fan of the layout of this establishment. It's not a straight line from point a to point b of purchase--the register is in the far back of the store, you order in the middle, they make it in the front and the only place to sit down is where you're waiting for your order. read more

Its ok...the only neat thing about this place, is that they do a better presentation for their stuff. I had gotten a waffle cone with butter finger already on the top of the cone. For some reason the butter finger tasted like it was old, the cone itself had no flavor and was really disappointing because you can't make a waffle cone taste like a normal cone it has to be better! The ice cream felt like it was missing something maybe more sweetness? It was cool that instead of just serving you a scoop onto the cone, they first ask you if you want toppings on it. These toppings are mixed into the ice cream and then it goes on the cone. These toppings are "FREE" but you pay for them for the price you pay for the cone. Cones start at $5 and go up from there. I usually have had a good experience at places like this at other cities but really disappointed with the customer service when the place was obviously not busy. It might have just been an off day. While waiting in line I either heard or asked point blank what they were out of, and was told they were out of at least three different flavors of ice cream, bananas, shake mix, and they were just able to go in the back and find pecans after running out of those (and running out of items is an experience I have had at more than one Marble Slab location). The two employees were wearing no gloves, checking people out and serving ice cream, and using their cell phones while attempting to reach a manager regarding a disgruntled customer. One even left the premises and came back in...and no, her hands were not washed. I have been to this location several times and each time the wait is longer and longer, they are out of more and more items, and the prices do not match the quality of service or customer interaction. It's a shame that the employees here are always teenagers who have been left without adequate supervision and evidently little to no training to do a better job. I asked the man if they were about to close and he said no, he just likes to clean up early. I didn't order any topping because I truly felt we were bothering this guy. The ice cream was decent, nothing special. Kind of pricey. Service and atmosphere were poor. My daughter in law has been here a few times and said this same guy working is always rude. Love the ice cream it is great when you want something different. I would come back for the ice cream. Set up is awkward. Start in the middle, made up front, walk to the back to pay. How does someone not walk out with the finish product with out paying? This place is a good stop for classic ice cream. They have a variety of flavors to choose from, my favorite being cake batter. They have a variety of cones but at the end lf 2 waffle comes to 8-10 dollars which i feel is kind of pricey. However the mix in are unlimited so thats fun for some people. Despite its price I will would recommend stopping in if your looking for a cold treat. They have shakes, cakes and sundaes as well. read more

Purchased Hot Fudge Sundae on today. The fudge had a chewy taffy texture which was unlike any Hot Fudge Sundae received anywhere . I called and spoke with Bernie to inquire if I return on another day with the Sundae I could not eat would they replace my order. Bernie went on to explain how Hot Fudge taste, I explained that I have been patronizing Marble Slab since the 1980's and this business since it opened and the Hot Fudge Sundae is what I order.
