Wow... I'm genuinely disappointed in Andy's Frozen Custard because I was really looking forward to this treat. I ordered the Strawberry Shortcake Sundae, and baby... it was absolutely drowning in strawberry juice. Not drizzle. Not topping. DROWNING. The custard melted so fast I barely had time to process what was happening before it turned into strawberry soup. I'm talking less than a minute--no exaggeration. And honestly, I didn't even bother going back through the drive-thru to have it fixed because the ordering process was already chaotic. At the window, they kept trying to hand me the wrong order, and I had to repeatedly explain that I hadn't even paid as the young lady had handed me everything and was waiting for me to pull off. ‍ The whole experience just felt rushed and disorganized, which made the disappointing sundae even harder to overlook. I hated Vanilla ice cream, soft serve, etc before Andy's. This place (although considered a custard) has the best vanilla ice cream ever. I love all the seasonal flavors too. We just finished dinner and needed some serious ice cream. One of our buddies recommended Andy's and it was my first time, so we went. When we got there, it had a couple of people in line. The menu was in the middle of the area, but you had to order through the window. We walked up to the front area vs the drive through. The music was nice and I was jamming. The one who took my order was very nice and repeated my order which I respect. The custards were really good and very flavorful. All of them were jam packed with their respective ingredients. Andy's Frozen Custard is whipping up some of the finest frozen custards in town at this Mansfield location located on E Broad near 360. We dropped by on a weekday after 6 for a frozen treat and decided to place our order with the cashier. There is ample parking provided as well as a drive-through for quick and fast service. Upon approaching the service counter, there was a large, beautifully displayed menu with prices, detailed descriptions of the items, and pictures. We went ahead and placed an order for the pint of hot fudge brownie and 2 kid sizes of dirt & worms, which was a vanilla custard garnished with oreo crumbs and chewy colorful gummy worms. The difference between your typical standard ice cream and custard is that, according to the FDA, ice cream must have at least 10 percent milk fat and less than 1.4 percent egg yolk while custard contains at least 10 percent milk fat but must have more than 1.4 percent egg yolk. The other difference is that ice cream machines mix in more air for a fluffier product, while custard machines mix in very little air for a more creamy result. The hot fudge brownie was indeed rich and creamy with ooey gooey fudge and moist pieces of chocolate brownies incorporated in a frozen vanilla custard. The kid sizes of the dirt & worms were indeed more than a treat, and the kids were completely satisfied. The prices were fair while the quality of the products was second to none. The staff and employees were professional and eager to assist in any way to provide top-notch service. I was so excited to try this for the first time today! We just finished eating and pulled in the drive thru, the guy working the drive thru was super helpful and nice, and provided great customer service. When I got to the window, the kids were all just talking inside and just standing around. The guy gave us our custards but as he handed it to me the cup or the custard itself smelled like rotten milk. It was not pleasant as you can smell it as you're eating the custard.. I tried to let it pass and kept on driving and started munching away. Then to my surprise.. I find a piece of blonde hair..... in the custard...I have long black hair, and my bf has no hair soooo... who's little blonde hair is this???? I was very disappointed and trashed the rest of my custard. It definitely ruined my day but this is the establishment it is I guess. read more

I went through the drive through for this location and it was speedy and pleasant. It was my first time there and I wasn't familiar with the menu so I took a little longer ordering. The staff member who took our order was patient and helpful. It didn't take long at all for the order to be ready and I was on my way. Most, if not all the items I've ordered always come out with a melted puddle on the top. Maybe that's how it's suppose to be served? Custard seems to melt rapidly than ice cream. Can you say expensive!! We got two Jackhammers, $16 for two ice creams!! Cost more than our dinner did! The custard is good, no doubt. However I didn't care for the jackhammer, the hot fudge wasn't all the way through the ice cream. The freshly baked brownie was burnt and just taste plain bad. If I'm in the area again, I'd just go with a plain vanilla waffle cone. read more

Came here at 8 PM, it was packed with a bunch of 13 year olds who were loud but nice enough. I got a medium brownie jackhammer for my daughter. The cashier was nice and it was about $8 which I thought was a lot. It was ready in a couple of minute. It's custard over a fudge brownie and it was absolutely amazing. Can't go wrong with a treat from Andy's. The custard and toppings always fresh and his the spot. Worth every penny. The serving sizes are very reasonable. Won't leave you wanting more. I am soooo glad there is an Andy's now in Mansfield. I am in walking distance. This is the custard I have ever had. I got the one with strawberry's and Oreos. It was kinda expensive. We just left a baseball tournament excited to grab an ice cream. We pull up to the menu board and see there is a new Dallas Mavs Jackhammer. A young man walked up to take our order and we asked what the blue candy is in the new Jackhammer and his reply-honestly I don't know. We said ok! We ordered a James brown with extra hot fudge and extra peanut butter, s'mores jackhammer, mint brownie, and another James brown. We pulled up to the window and gave them our code for rewards. A young man handed us an ice cream and we asked what it was...he said Jamesbrown and we asked is this the one with extra? He said I don't know straight faced. So I said we need to know as they are different orders. He said I'll tell you when the other one comes out. We were handed the rest of our order then he said the first one was the one with extra. Then he shut the window not saying thank you or have a good evening just looked at us. We pull off to drive home and there is NO brownie, No hot fudge, and a pump of peanut butter. Nothing like peanut butter and vanilla custard...So after being charged $33 for ice cream, it was wrong and very disappointing. Customer service was lacking. read more

I have ordered a chocolate shake with extra chocolate syrup in it. I have previously taken the same thing and it was excellent, which is why i went back to the place to order again. But i did not get what usually they give. I asked the male person who handed over to me, "Did you add extra chocolate syrup, it doesn't look dark?", he replied i did add it might be some extra lumps in there.
