Chateau Veterinary Hospital was absolutely amazing--especially if you're traveling internationally…read morewith a pet, or honestly, if you just need an exceptional vet. They handled our international health certificate for our dog, Chester, and our cat, Muscade, and made what is usually a very stressful process feel completely manageable. Summer Stein was our main point of contact, and she is truly an expert when it comes to international travel paperwork. Dr. Fraser completed the health screening, and the entire process was seamless. One huge bonus that not many people realize: if you're traveling with two pets, they can be listed on one health certificate. That alone saved us time, money, and unnecessary stress. Before finding Chateau, I had reached out to several clinics and felt overwhelmed and unsure. The moment Summer answered my call, I felt confident we were in the right hands--and I was right. We arrived in France with zero issues. One very important tip for anyone traveling internationally with pets: yes, the health certificate must be validated within 10 days of travel, but your vet appointment should be scheduled at least one month before your departure. This allows enough time for the USDA to process, endorse, and mail everything back to you. Summer guided us through this timing perfectly. I also really appreciated that they had us test anti-anxiety medication before travel to ensure the correct dosage. Best advice ever. It made a world of difference knowing exactly what Chester needed--and to be clear, these are not tranquilizers, which are forbidden for international travel. We even had to recheck Chester in Paris for our connecting flight to Nice. He refused additional medication at that point but still did very well. There were no issues--no barking, no complaints from airline staff, and he remained calm throughout the entire process. He was understandably nervous by the time we picked him up in Nice, but he was completely okay. I was nervous about giving him medication in the first place, but testing it ahead of time and following their guidance truly paid off. Another thing worth mentioning: Chester is an anxious dog when it comes to vet visits. He's sweet--not aggressive--just scared. The team handled his exam and vaccinations with patience, calm, and confidence. They clearly know how to work thoughtfully with nervous animals, and that meant a lot to us. I also really appreciated that they offer happy visits, where you can stop in without an appointment just to help your pet feel comfortable with the vet and environment--no exam, no stress, just positive exposure. Beyond all of that, this is simply an outstanding veterinary office. Everyone is incredibly kind, organized, professional, welcoming, and knowledgeable--what more could you ask for? It's clearly a locally owned practice, not a corporate chain, and that shows in every interaction. I had a terrible experience at a corporate vet prior to this, and honestly, I'm grateful for it because it led me to Chateau Veterinary Hospital. Thank you so much to the entire team at Chateau Veterinary Hospital. We truly couldn't have done this without you. We're now happily settled and enjoying our life in France.

Unbelievable. I took my elderly dog in to the "Doctor" (see "quack") for a checkup and to look at…read morehis teeth. She told me he had periodontal disease and the infection had eaten away the bone around his canines and they had to be pulled. She then lined him up for a series of procedures, blood work and all, to the tune of about 1000 dollars. Scared the sh*t out of me that my little buddy was seriously ill. I asked for antibiotics for him to fight the infection while he had to wait for all this to happen. She denied him any medication. Twice. I asked her for meds so my dog could fight the infection TWICE!! She denied him! So I took him to his regular vet in Orange and he was SHOCKED to hear what this other "Doctor" wanted to do. He actually said she forgot "first do no harm", he said that. He also said that in any case pulling a dogs canine teeth should be the LAST thing you do, not the first. Cuz then they get big problems because they cant close the holes up into the dogs sinuses. And when he heard she denied my dog meds when he had an infection?? Well this whole tale just shocked him to the core. This woman is a QUACK, she's from Port Arthur Texas... probably cuz they run her off! IF YOU LOVE YOUR PETS, DO NOT TAKE THEM HERE! She wanted to butcher my poor dog to make money, that's it. My dogs regular vet said he's fine, just has a small infection in his canines and practically threw antibiotics to my little guy. No periodontal disease. QUACK ALERT QUACK ALERT!!
