Really disappointed in the way this vendor handled our conversation. Once I inquired about a 30/45 minute earlier arrival (due to photographer demands) she added on a $50 fee in order to arrive earlier than before discussed. Fine, this fee was additional for her time I get it, but I wrote back saying I wanted to speak to my husband regarding the price increase and then just generally asked if we could do 30/45 minutes earlier instead of an hour and a half as she suggested/ so it wasn't so early and she was quick to say we wouldn't be a good match. I never questioned her pricing or work, I was just inquiring about a later start time to sleep in a bit more when a full day of events is ahead. I was quite upset with how she handled the conversation and was so quick to turn away working together due to making an assumption that I didn't want to pay or that I wanted a discount? I never asked nor mentioned anything about a discount or lowering her price. It is a shame because I wanted to work together and had no issues with the pricing for the services provided- I just wanted to clear with my husband (especially since he's the one paying for and driving me to the event hence why timing is important). Wouldn't recommend her because of the way this scenario went. I am planning on using another hair/makeup artist that will not act this way. 2 stars because she is responsive via email. I decided not to book Marci because: 1. She was late to the trial. 2. She was unprepared for the trial (she did not bring airbrush makeup). 3. She applied makeup in a heavy and sloppy manner (overdrawn lips, muddy cheeks, obvious eye brows, patchy foundation, wrong color foundation). 4. She applied a liquid highlighter and it streaked down my cheek, but she never corrected it (among other mess ups she did not correct). 5. She used heavy and cheap false eye lashes. 6. She was unresponsive during the trial when I told her I was not happy with how the makeup turned out. 7. The updo she gave me fell out approximately 1 hour later. I didn't even go outside with it. 8. I hired Marci to do a hair trial on the day of my bridal shower. She was supposed to arrive at 8:30AM, but at 8:35AM she texted me and said she couldn't make it due to food poisoning. To say that I'm disappointed is not enough. My best friend booked Marci for her wedding. 3 days before she confirm her appointment with Marci for 9 am on Saturday for 4 people. The day of the wedding we were trying to reach her since 8:30 am and there was no answer. We left voicemails, texted and called multiple times she never answered or called back. At 9:45 we had to find a last minute salon that took the bride for hair and make up. She finally decided to text the bride at 10 am saying she was running late because her alarm did not go off. This was for a corporate photo and video shoot and I don't wear makeup often (this was my third time) so didn't want anything overdone.
