Wow I feel like I am in Italy and not Australia! I am so glad I found this place based on a Yelp review. I had pappardelle porcini which the pasta is just perfect. My son ate pizza with sausage, ham and cheese and it is just like Italian pizza. I have traveled to Italy over 10 times in 4 years and first place I have found that matches Italy's amazing pizza. Gratzi to everyone here- it is my new favorite Italian.

    Lovely but too small!

This restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere and the waiters are generally very very nice. However, the food was just not up to par with the prices. We ordered a pizza crust that wasn't actually a pizza crust, it was basically a plain pizza (anyone can just google what the dish pizza crust is suppose to be), a scampi risotto that tasted like the proportions of the ingredients involved were x50 in ratio and a blue crab pappardelle. My pappardelle was so bad I don't even know how to explain it. Imagine, a dish so swamped in sauce that a pasta dish, that had once probably had the garnishes and original flavors of a blue crab pappardelle, tasted like 5 sticks of butter. I have had this dish at various locations throughout Sydney's dining scene--from low end to high end-- and never have I tasted such a poor version of the dish. If this type of flavoring is your style, however, then this place is very very compatible for you!

I came with a group of 6 and we naturally had to order the metre long pizza ($62) al metro, meaning it could be split into 3 different types of pizza out of their 15+ choices so there's something for everyone. Before we did that we ordered some starters; the salt + pepper calamari with eggplant (this was awesome,) buffalo mozzarella salad, and sausage on toast (the name escapes me.) The entreés were good, though portions on the small side...but good start. Onto the pizza...I'm not sure what I expected, but I think I ate a bit of the hype machine because the pizza was just OK for me. The crust was crispy, dough was fluffy, but the pizza itself was a little too flimsy...flimsy enough you had to eat with two hands and the toppings fell off quite easily, so I found it more annoying than enjoyable to eat. I need to come here again to solidify my opinion, but for the time being, if you live near the CBD I wouldn't make the trek out here as there are other places to go. Order a small pizza on the side if you have 6 people, as the metre long will be gone in seconds and you may still be hungry.

He's genuinely Italian (not like those awful fake Italians that seem to be everywhere you look these days) and is chronically happy in the most relaxed and infectious way. And hells, why wouldn't he be when he's blessed with the God-given talent to create the most awe-inspiringly, pants-wettingly delicious pizzas in Sydney? You may guess from that little paean that this is my go-to 'za joint and you'd guess right. None of this pan base crap. No bike wheel-thin, brittle dough with an artisan scraping of tomato sauce and three pieces of gourmet pepperoni. These bad boys are dripping with love and quality toppings, stacked high with colour and juice and topped with tasty cheese and chilli flakes and those ace little Italian anchovies I can't get enough of. My fave is The Special with pretty much everything and the kitchen sink on it. But NO PINEAPPLE. God help you if you order pineapple on a pizza. What are we, Polynesian cavemen? It's cheap, too. 2 families feeds three of us with lunch left over the next day. Boom. All hail Antos, king of pizza parlours!

PINEAPPLE ON PIZZA FOR LIFE! *shakes fist at sky*

I ordered a lady finger based on how it looked because I couldn't find a description. I thought it was just okay. The next item was called cabbage roll. Again, no description. It was way too salty so I binned it. The last thing I had was Baba Ghanoush. There was no description but I think I've had it before. The picture showed the dish served with some kind of bread. My mistake was assuming that it came with flatbread or naan, but it didn't. Eating without an accompaniment just didn't work for me.
