Corpus Christi's little secret.... Open from 11 to 3 - Don't miss this BBQ experience! The prices are fantastic, the service is friendly and the food is tried and true Texas BBQ! There's a great selection of homemade sides. [[HIGHLIGHT]]You'll see there's a huge LOCAL lunchtime crowd ; but, service is fast and there's plenty of tables![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

3.5 stars here. 4 stars for the meats, 2 for the sides. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Somewhat hidden joint in an industrial area off the beaten path but the large number of pickups in the lot told me that it wasn't a place that is unknown.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Unable to see pits here but learned they burn mesquite rather than the more common post oak. Surprising lack of smoke aroma on arrival.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Counter service spot where the meats are kept warm in a series of pans and you choose from an extensive menu of choices-brisket, ribs, quarter chicken, ham, sausage, turkey breast. Available as plates, sandwiches, and unique "tacos". And some quite large baked potatoes went by as we made our decisions. Everything is ready by the time you reach the end of the counter and pay. Sauce provided from behind the counter was quite sweet. All sides-both cold and hot-are self-serve from a long salad bar set up in the dining area. Our meal choice was a 3-meat platter, with Pork loin, sausage, and turkey. Here was our feelings on our meal this visit. Sausage: earns an A for the perfect amount of peppery bite Turkey: A+ for smokey flavor, moist with no sauce needed Pork Loin: overly dry, decent smoke ring. Would have been better fresher. Potato salad: tasted quite strongly of pickles Corn and Green Beans: overcooked and soggy Carrot Cake: a big winner. homemade tasting more akin to a spice cake with delicious icing The pricing here is very reasonable for the quality and I would definitely return on another visit to the area. Just need to be careful in your choosing of the freshest meats and sides.

Great brisket, beans, rice and corn bread.

Couldn't find the other restraint but found Howard's. A hole in the wall worth every second of your time. Very friendly servers. Excellent brisket and ribs. A full salad bar with an attached hot line, both all you eat. Corn bread biscuits and very tasty sauce on the sauce. We will be returning.

When in Texas, gotta have some Texas BBQ ! This one is great: tender brisket, tasty sausages that are thinly sliced by Tom, falling-off-the-bone ribs !!!! Great roadside stop for weary travelers. Decor is fun and appropriately Texan. Service with a smile. Who can ask for more ???

I have been eating at Howard's for 40+ years and the quality of food and service has never changed... IT IS FANTASTIC... Jim still cuts the meats and if ya don't watch out you will stand there catching up with for 20 minutes... the ladies that work there are so nice.. All I can say is if ya don't like ya might want to have your taste buds checked

A classic. Always the best brisket in Corpus Christi and prices have remained reasonable.

It was the best bbq I've had in a really long time. Definitely a restaurant worth going back to.

Food 5/5 Service 5/5…read moreAmbiance 4/5 My party of 3 came on a Saturday afternoon after visiting the weekly farmers market in the parking lot and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. You can tell that the chef(s) pour their heart into eat dish prepared. My mother in law and I both ordered salads and my wife ordered the snapper tacos and we all ate every single bite! The ambiance is great for a casual family meal and there is also a bar area as well. My only suggestion is for the restaurant to please oh please put a bit into upgrading the bathrooms. It really is a disservice to the customers and experience when some of the stalls don't close and the toilets are literally falling apart and closed with plastic instead of the normal parts they should be. However, we will be back and recommend it to others for a great casual meal with excellent food, good service and reasonable prices!

It wasn't very busy so we got a table right away and our waitress was friendly and knowledgable about the menu. The interior is a bit dark and has a minimal vibe. The seafood gumbo was excellent, lots of flavor and seafood. My husband said the honey mustard dressing was the best he has had. The blackened chicken on my salad was cooked and seasoned perfectly. My husband really enjoyed his salmon. I thought the caesar dressing was on the light side. The portion size was good and filling. The prices were decent as well.

I think a 2.5 would be an adequate score to describe my experience at Harrison's Landing. While the…read morefood was done well and our waiter was attentive, the atmosphere was anything but welcoming. Upon arrival, the hostess insisted we look at the menu before entry because "our menu is a little strange," or something along those lines. While this was certainly a strange greeting, we still, of course, wanted to eat at the restaurant, as we had already looked at the menu prior to arriving. As if I wasn't already feeling unwelcome enough, the hostess also thought it relevant to mention that we barely got there in time because they would stop taking tables after us, even though they had an entire hour before closing. On top of all this, the hostess made comments about where I decided to sit, saying something along the lines of, "Are you sure you want to sit over there? It looks too sunny." So, after being told that my palate might not be sophisticated enough to indulge in their premium cuisine, and essentially being told that we were an inconvenience for coming in an hour before close, yes, please question the spot that I am choosing to be seated in. Lastly, I also overheard a waitress complain about not being able to leave because a party was still eating (despite there still being 45 minutes before close). Overall, the atmosphere from the staff was unwelcoming and unprofessional. The food is the only thing that may bring me back in the future.

It's open-air and sits right on the dock, so you're literally eating over the water, which makes for a fun experience. At first, I was a little disappointed because I realized they had changed their menu and some of the items I was looking forward to were no longer available. But we decided to stay and give it a chance, and I'm glad we did. I ordered the Build Whatever with blue crab on a bun. The blue crab was fresh, well-seasoned, and really flavorful. I also got an aioli sauce on the side, which paired perfectly with it. My husband ordered the Poke Tuna Wrap, and it was phenomenal. I ended up loving his meal so much that I'll definitely be ordering it myself next time. We also shared the ceviche, which came with tostadas and saltines. It tasted incredibly fresh and was the perfect thing to eat on a hot day. One thing to note is that they don't serve any fried food, but everything we ordered tasted fresh and high quality. Their cocktails were excellent as well. I had a raspberry lemonade cocktail, although I can't remember the name of it. It was delicious and refreshing. Overall, the food, drinks, atmosphere, and waterfront setting made for a really enjoyable experience. We'll definitely be back.
