I absolutely love Miss K's. Hands down the best bistro on the island and my favorite place to eat. They're open for lunch and offer a daily special, always made with fresh ingredients and generous portions. Everything is scratch-made, including the desserts, and it really shows. I seriously wish she sold her salad dressing by the bottle because I would put that sheet on everything. It's located in a shopping strip with great accessibility. First off the food was good , we had club sandwiches. We got our food , about that time a lady walked in dining area from behind the counter . I presume she was the owner. The dog barked quite a bit and the echo in there is really loud. The workers didn't seem to care. Moments a later a woman with apron on who is food preparer comes out and pets and holds dog on her apron. I shall not return. So fresh and very good! We always eat local when possible and this place was a find. The special was Philly steak sandwich which my husband and I both enjoyed. Out grandchildren had Cesar salad, grilled cheese and turkey sandwich - all exceptionally good. Our youngest got a little feisty waiting for the food and the lady brought him fresh cut fruit to south him. In the end they brought out cookies for the kids. We left feeling full and very loved. Non-island native decided to try this place for lunch. The restaurant was just about empty when I arrived but it filled up quickly for what I assume was the lunch rush. The woman at the register quickly took our order. We waited for about 30-mins before our meals were delivered to the table. The food did not disappoint. The turkey reuben was tender and delicious. This is one of my favorite places to eat for many reasons. One of the reasons is that the food is delicious and clean. Also, I love the fact that it is locally owned and operated. (In strip shopping center with My Coastal Home and across the Hwy from Dollar Store) Finally did and now will not visit Port A without at least 1 or 2 visits to Miss K's! God bless Miss K. We were out and about on a random Monday around mid afternoon in Port A and were looking for a quick nosh. We had read the excellent yelp reviews and decided to pop by this little spot. To our surprise, strict Covid guidelines were in operation. Only take out orders were permitted and you had to stay in your car. We were peering inside the store when the owner (Miss K) came out and kindly took our order. At this time, she only is accepting cash/check. We were a bit taken aback by this but she kindly agreed to take our out of town check. However we did not have a pen with which to write. At which point, Miss K told us our order was "on the house". We are so touched by her kind heartedness and spirit. An island gem. Had lunch with friends yesterday and it was outstanding. I had the shrimp salad and my friends had the fettuccine Alfredo, both of which were fabulous. My shrimp salad was light and delicious with just the right amount of seasonings. The shrimp were plump and fresh. The Alfredo was creamy and full of flavor. The pasta was delightfully al dente. Each of these dishes were served with a small caprese salad. Topped off the lunch with brownies, lemon bars, coconut pie and chocolate pie. Absolutely Devine!!!
