Starting my ortho journey with the Kai Family and it's off to a great beginning! Was referred here from the San Jose location for my X-rays. Definitely a great sign that they remain COVID-conscious. There's a sign at the door asking you to check-in via text or phone (number listed). It's a short questionnaire to determine potential symptoms. Don't fret if you don't get a response back after texting - it's probably the service reception! I went in to ask when that happened to me, and they were extremely nice about it and had asked me the questions on the spot instead. They also take your forehead temperature. You're asked to wait in the lobby - so spotless and clean! I was asked to be seen shortly after so barely any wait time at all. I had to take off my piercings because the metals would interfere with the X-ray, causing it to blur. I was having trouble with my piercings but everyone was extremely patient and nice about it! My appointment was over in a flash, and the reception desk made sure all my questions were answered and set for my next appointment. Though my journey would mainly be at the San Jose location, the same hospitality is at both locations! You can't go wrong with starting your ortho journey with the Kai family, as I'm sure they'll take care of you as they've taken care of me so far, and no doubt for my entire journey! read more

My son came here for expanders fitting. He is neurodivergent and has anxiety issues. This is the first time he is getting expanders and they refused let us be around. This is a unfriendly and non accomodative practice for an autistic and adhd child. We have already paid ard 5000$ so we have no choice but to stay here. But we will surely want to warn any neurodivergent families to AVOID this place. Extremely disappointed with such an office policy. The office staff are very curt and matter of fact and not empathetic in customer interaction. Very unusual to to the other DR places we have been to. Service makes all the difference. This review is for 2155 south bascom location Add on : After they saw the review , management spoke to the Dr who was kind enough to let us in. We are very thankful for the immediate corrective action , changing review from 1 star to 4 star. I request management to please train office staff to adapt to different patient sensibilities and be more customer friendly - rather than starting off with a initial NO and refusing our request to speak to the doctor. The office staff said it was office policy not to allow parent in and that we signed our contract with it - which is understood , but if they could have let us talk to the Dr initially itself it would have been a more plesant experience. All three of my daughters have been to Dr. Kai for Invisalign. Over the years that we've been going to them, their office has consistently been fabulous. The level of courtesy and kindness of ALL the staff is absolutely top-notch. Even my teenage daughter commented to me after her recent appointment that "the people in there are all SO nice!" Their new office space is beautiful, spacious, and conveniently located with plenty of parking. The treatment plan and payment is super easy - the office handles all the coordination with insurance. And scheduling appointments is easy, by phone or over email. The scheduling team is very patient with me when I need to reschedule because of conflicts that arise on my part. Dr. Marcus Kai and Dr. Laura Chew are the best in ortho treatment. The music in the office keeps the pain away and the staff is always happy and helpful getting me in for emergency adjustments. My situation was a bit complicated but Dr. Kai worked well with my surgeon to make sure the proper path forward was identified. My 6th star would absolutely go to Dr. Marcus and his amazing office staff. Dr. Marcus' soft spoken demeanor aids in making patients feel relaxed and comfortable while enduring the less than pleasant aspects of needing orthodontic work. He is very cordial and professional, but more importantly you know he cares deeply not only about his work, but about his patients. His team is phenomenal. Society has created a stigma where a normal human being should have a phobia of dentists. Unfortunately, my orthodontist experience as an adolescent fit this haunting reputation. After wearing braces and headgear for 8 years, you would think that my teeth would have the golden smile similar to those of actors. But here I am 12 years later at the age of 30 in need of straighten teeth .... once again I inquired for dental need but had my reservations due to my past history. Based off several recommendations, I contacted Dr. Kai's office about their treatment plans. My first conversation was with Diane, who provided beneficial information that encouraged me to meet with Dr. Kai in person. Upon arrival of their office, I was instantly impressed with their interior decor and up-to-date technology. So far so good. After a diagnosis of my teeth, Dr. Kai provided me with different options with their corresponding benefits. Unlike my previous orthodontist, he allowed me to make a choice after stating his recommendations. Not only did he showcase his knowledge from his extensive background and utilization of current orthodontic-treatment strategies, but he evidently showed genuine care for his patient's needs. Words cannot fully describe my satisfaction of Kai Orthodontics. I've had my fair share of horrible untold stores with both dentists and orthodontists (I've never heard of anyone else having braces for 8 years). Dr. Marcus Kai and all of his staff have been great for the last 2.5 years! Dr. Marcus gave me two options for my teeth; one that would be to just straighten my teeth or one that included surgery to correct my overbite also. I went with the surgery option. He and his staff coordinated with the oral surgeon very well, making it so that I just had to show up and all parties knew very clearly what the game plan was. He was always very clear about what he was doing with my teeth and was always willing to answer any questions I had without making me feel like I was being a pain in the butt. Haha. All of his staff were like that. They're all really great. Scheduling was painless, payments were painless, the initial contract agreement went well. They really do everything they can to make it as affordable and hassle-free as possible. I don't have ortho coverage but we found a solution that was easy-peasy to pay for. I chose to have my payments auto-debit and never had a problem. Oh, and the length of time I had my braces was within the timeframe we discussed in the beginning which was so nice! I have to say after my initial visit to Kai Orthodontics, I was really impressed by the service and technology of their office. The staff is extremely personable, friendly and always smiling and their equipment is very cutting edge. The check in monitor was really cool and the X-ray machines were something out of a futuristic sci-fi movie. They made me feel very comfortable for my first ever visit to an ortho. I really liked that they took pictures of my teeth so that I could compare. I was on a fast track to get ready for my wedding and although they didn't have as much time as they typically would have liked, all I can say now that my braces are off is WOW!!! I am SO HAPPY!!! They seem to have a focus on high quality care as evident with their equipment, brand new office and staff. Plus, Dr. Marcus is super nice and very friendly. A few years ago, my three cousins went to Kai Orthodontics, my little brother went to Kai Orthodontics, and my dentist had nothing but positive things to say about Dr Marcus Kai. No doubt that word of mouth had led me to Dr Kai. Dr. Kai is thorough, gentle, and patient. That's huge for me! He's been walking me through every step of the way and is patient will all the questions I have (and trust me, I ask a TON of questions). I never felt rushed. I loved seeing the digital pictures on the screen when he did my consultation, and I appreciate that he took the time to explain everything he was planning to do and how he was going to do it. I was also surprised when Dr Kai himself called me to follow up after my first week to see how I was adjusting to the invisalign (and listened to me complain that I was sore - haha). He's meticulous in his work and the office is beautiful. The office sends me emails to remind me of my appointments - they do everything they can to make it work for me. I had a great experience with them using Invisalign. Price was very reasonable. They were very patient and honest during the consulting process. Appointments were always smooth. More of the clients are children but I did see adult patients like myself there. They have a great electronic appointment system that makes the process easy. Staff is really nice and fun to talk to. The office is very comfortable and they have free water in the waiting room. Parking is easy. Dr. Kai is really good and very patient when explaining things. Dr. Kai and staff are some of the most genuine and accommodating people you'll meet. You'll walk in to the office and find beverages for you while you wait, movies playing on the tv for entertainment, and be promptly greeted by the staff there. I've had braces before in high school, but did not have my wisdom teeth taken out and I did not do a good job of wearing my retainer back then. This led to my teeth shifting in my adulthood and it made me self-conscious to the point where I needed to do something about it. Dr. Kai took the time to explain my options (something most Orthodontists don't talk about), and explained my habits and why my teeth shifted the way they did. After providing his recommendation, he ultimately left it up to me to decide the best course of action that fit my needs. Diane was great at explaining costs, and options for the procedure I chose (invisalign). Pretty much anything and everything you want to know about fixing your teeth is available to you depending on how much you want to know. The entire staff is very detailed and professional about what they do; from a website to view your information, laptops to show your progress/before and after pictures, stations for brushing/cleaning your teeth, etc. Anyone that I know who needs orthodontia will be referred to here by me. I am a patient still in treatment and I highly recommend Dr. Marcus. Unlike other orthodontist who sit you down to a video and then schedule your next appointment, he actually takes the time to talk to you and explains to you the process. He is also a wonderful listener and he addresses your concerns. Staff is friendly and nice. Kai Orthodontics was very flexible with payment options so I didn't feel overwhelmed by the cost, which I should note is a big investment so it took me a while to decide whether I would just deal with the pain of my bite being off or buckle down and fix it. I am very busy and am unable to communicate via telephone so when I have questions I turn to email; they are extremely timely and pleasant to deal with. They give me enough trays so I don't have to keep going back every month, which is helpful in the aspect of I do not have to take time off work. Although, they are very accommodating with that as well by scheduling me for their earliest apppointment. I enjoy going into the office because of the warm smiles and kind greetings.
