1 star for general incompetence at every turn. I was quoted 300 for a dental appliance, and then charged 1,000. After much to do, they eventually honored the original quote. I showed up to receive the appliance, and the assistant appeared with a needle to anesthetize me to fill multiple cavities. I have no cavities, and I had to refuse the shot multiple times before they realized their error. I left the practice and recently emailed to obtain records. After supplying my full name and date of birth, they replied with, "What is your Last name and Date of birth?". It took 11 emails to discover that the dentist who saw me was no longer at the practice, they do not retain records, and to contact him. They sent a long winded excuse, part of which reads: "His office has a new contact number and email address that we do not have on file. We recommend that you search for Dr. Ortega's current practice and contact his office directly to obtain the most up-to-date email address." I googled it, and his new office is...in the same building as White Oaks Dental. It's hilarious that they go out of their way to be unhelpful. The Unquestionable Tooth I'd been searching for a new dentist for a few years before being referred here by my gf, Carissa, last year. I normally prefer a smaller mom-&-pop type office instead of a dental mill, but this place kinda falls smack dab in the middle of both. The Good: *Dr Cho (the only dentist I've dealt with) is terrific; personable, affable, and tells you exactly what's going on and why. *The entire staff from receptionists to the nurses are all very friendly and can all take a joke. *They accept most insurances, as Carissa and I both have different types of insurance (Delta & Tricare). *They seem to be a one-stop shop for all dental procedures, according to their website. *They figure out your co-pay, and you pay at the end of your visit; no stupid bills in the mail to deal with. *They're very prompt, respect your time, and get you in and out very quickly. *Text reminders, and they will also text you if they have questions or issues that arise, which I prefer. Phone calls are giant PiTa, especially if you end up paying phone tag. The Meh: *They are *not* a Delta Premiere Dentist, so if you have Delta Dental PPO insurance, then expect to have a co-pay. *Not open on weekends *Maybe I misunderstood, but when I was trying to make an apt recently, I could've sworn the receptionist said they're not open on Fridays? However, their website, Yelp and Google, all show them to be open from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m., so not I'm not exactly sure what that's about. *If you need a 2nd or 3rd visit, then they'll have to be a few weeks apart as apts are hard to come by. The Ugly: *Parking can be a bit of a nightmare at times, as their shared lot is almost always packed and lacks any shade. Street parking, however, does have some shade but can also be hard to come by. So, make sure you give yourself a few minutes before your appointment to find parking. TLDR: Great dental office that makes one of life's annoyances tolerable. read more

I don't like visits to the dentist office but Thursday morning I was eating corn nuts as a quick snack at work when I bit into a corn nut with my molar tooth that I had not taken care of immediately when instructed to do so. As the day progressed so did the throbbing pain. I knew from a previous visit I had a cavity in this tooth that needed a filling for but decided " I'll take care of that later"since it was not bothering me at all. Later, became earlier than expected... Thursday evening was a painful stressful Rush job as I drove through traffic after work like a maniac trying to get to Dr. ORTEGA's office like a kid trying to get home before streets lights come on. I was in trouble and the pain was unbearable. I needed help. Walking in the office before closing at 6pm I knew my chances of getting an emergency appointment was slim to none and that I most likely would need to wait until Monday to be seen by this office or find a different location to see me. This was my second visit to this location It's close to home, the staff is welcoming, friendly and courteous and office kept clean as it should be and so this is my primary dental home office. The calendar was filled for Friday , but Dr. Ortega was able to squeeze me in his calendar Friday morning at 8am even though they open doors at 830am! I received great care by Dr. Ortega, I needed a root canal. He was patient friendly and kept me in the loop every step of the procedure. I'm forever thankful for him and his team being able to assist my needs in such a short notice. It was an emergency and having a tooth ache is no joke. I have always received thoughtful customer service throughout my visits. I schedule ahead and then typically get care within a few weeks when we identify additional needs beyond a clean and exam. The 2 stars goes to the fact that the office is modern, well equipped, visually appealing, scheduling is easy, and they take insurance. The staff are nice and while Dr. Ortega was professional I could not form a trusting relationship with the office. Before I moved into the area I had seen the same dentist for years. I was never told I needed a crown or all these cavities filled. I decided to let him fill a cavity but declined to move ahead with the crown as when I consulted my previous dentist he said I didn't need it. However after several years of being told I needed it and feeling pressured by him always stating for his scribe to document my refusal for the procedure, then having his staff call me to tell me I was over due for not only my cleaning but a crown and cavities to be filled, I decided it was time to move on. I'm so glad I went somewhere else. My new dentist told me I did not need a crown and that there would be greater risk in doing the procedure such as then needing a root canal and advised to leave my tooth alone. He also commented that there was early demineralization of a tooth but he wouldn't call it a cavity. Hmmm, 2 out of 3 dentists telling me I did not need a procedure... I'm suspicious that I didn't even needed that cavity filled. read more

First appt to this dentist and to say I was impressed would be a massive understatement. The dental assistant made my almost 5 year old feel very comfortable through the entire process of his 1st checkup in years. Is it inconvenient that they see his age group only before 10am, yes. However, it's worth it. They teach you how to care for your child's teeth and really show patience if the chid gets unruly or fussy. read more

I cant say enough good things about my first visit at White Oaks. I had not been to the dentist in almost 3 years after moving from a different city and then being hit with the pandemic. I finally gave in and was recommended this place and I am so glad I did. Staff is so warm and friendly - my cleaning went great and I didn't feel judged for any imperfections on my teeth. The panoramic x-ray was a first for me and it was super easy to do. When Dr. Cho came in he was super friendly, trying to get to know more about me and my dental history. He told me I had two small cavities and we could get them filled in my next visit. I am looking forward to my next visit with the staff and will be sure to schedule my yearly cleanings now that I know I have a great place to go. read more

Dr. Cho and his staff are awesome. I had a crown and two cavities filled and am really impressed with Dr. Cho's work. My new crown looks beautiful because it matches my other teeth really well . Okay, who likes going to the dentist? It's scary! I hadn't gone to the dentist in too long because I did not like my dentist. I searched around Yelp for dentists in my area and came across White Oaks. Ever since I've met Dr. Ortega and the White Oaks team, I never feel terrified to go to the dentist. Everyone there is so personable and kind, and Dr. Ortega makes sure he explains everything that's going on with my teeth, so that I can understand it. I also think it's awesome that they have a texting reminder for appointments, which you can reply to, and they will text back! Sometimes I get cold during my procedure, and they have a nice blanket they'll let you use. Another little thing they do that goes a long way is that they apply vaseline on your lips throughout the procedure! You don't really think about it but it's nice that your lips won't get dry and rip open and bleed when you have to keep your mouth open for a while. I had my wisdom teeth pulled out and Dr. Ortega also made a followup phone call later that day to check up on how I was doing. If you couldn't tell already, I definitely recommend White Oaks. Careful, with dentists the work you need is apparently very subjective . love this office!! Both Dr.Cho and Dr. Ortega are amazing I bring my whole family here to see them. I have been a patient of theirs from a previous location for six years. They both are very caring and listen to all your concerns and needs and will explain everything thoroughly to you. I myself and my boyfriend have both had teeth extracted very easy process and healing went great. My six year old does very well with getting dental work and treatment done. Beautiful new office with ceric machine so if you need to get a crown done you can get at the same time also if you need a special radiograph x-ray they have a digital one which is little radiation. I am very happy to report that after years of searching, I have finally come across not only a dentist, but an entire staff who meets these criteria. I ended up calling the next day because I was concerned over tooth pain coming from a root canal that needed a crown. They said I could come in that day. They were so patient with me as I tried to coordinate my work schedule to carve out some time. -First plus, customer service. Entire staff gets 5 stars. -Second plus was the electronic, easy to use system when establishing care. No silly paperwork---super user-friendly. -Third plus, no long waits. I came in during my 45 minute lunch break and was registered, had a consult, made a follow-up appointment, treatment plan, and financial estimate and was back to work on time. I am glad to find Dr. Ortega as my dentist. I had to find a dentist quick because my old dentist felt like not showing up to my appointment and when I rescheduled with him he told me that everything was fine even though I had excruciating pain on one side mouth. Dr. Ortega is very dedicated and took 15-20 minutes and actually did a physical exam and found out that I had cavity and I needed a revision of my root canal. Dr. Cho and Dr. Ortega are the best in the business. They are very accommodating with scheduling and most of all they make you feel comfortable throughout the dental procedure. I went in for a crown replacement and I was told that we would finish the entire process in one session. I thought I misunderstood, but they have this cool machine that uses 3D imaging and mills your porcelain crown while you wait. This was awesome because in the past with other doctors I've had to make 2-3 appointments in order to finish the crown process. We're all busy people and sometimes it hard to get away from work or other obligations. Overall, it was a great experience and they offer everything from General Dentistry to Cosmetic Dentistry. I did not need to do that coming into dr chos office. He is so warm and welcoming and so gentle. I have never in my life had a dental experience like this. Thank you Dr. Ortega!! I went a year ago for xrays & cleaning but it had been so many years (I'm totally afraid of 'the dentist') that I had heavy heavy plaque build-up (I could even feel it) and they were going to have to do a lot of scraping under the gum line. It took me a whole year to screw up my courage to come back, but it turned out SO differently than I expected! I've never laughed that much in my life, and certainly not at a dentist! They gave me headphones to listen to any music I wanted, stress balls to squeeze if I needed, a lovely gas to breathe to calm down, and yet, I didn't feel pain!
