I have seen Dr. Sasaki since I was 8 years old, and went through the regular teenage braces spiel. As an adult, I decided to fix my crooked teeth again, and was surprised to learn that the practice switched to Dr. Yau. While I was sad not to work with Dr. Sasaki again, Dr. Yau has been an absolute blessing of an orthodontist. She is incredibly friendly and accommodating, super clear on procedures and practices, and never wastes your time. When I moved to San Francisco but still had my trays for Invisalign, she always made sure that my visit down to Los Gatos was worth the trip, OR even mailed the trays directly to me. They even purchased new X-Ray machines so patients did not need a reference to visit a different location. The office is always clean and the staff is welcoming and kind -- you would never know if any of them ever had a bad day. I never would have thought that I would look forward to my orthodontist appointment, but Dr. Yau and her team make the visits worthwhile. During my first few consultations we discussed various treatment options and found the one that was best for me. We then had a virtual consultation where we went into great detail about how my teeth would move, the mechanics, and her vision. Upon a friend's recommendation, I went to Dr. Yau's clinic for invisalign treatment and I am glad that I did. Great place to bring your kids for orthodontia. The office is clean and comfortable and their style of orthodontia is mostly painless. I've compared notes amongst my daughter's friends, and her palette expander and first run of braces were a lot less painful then others. We did a lot of soul searching and research with Dr. Sasaki and her dentist (Morrow/Darrow) and determined that sacrificing two permanent upper teeth would be the best for her and right now, we're on retainers. We need another round and are working on a plan. So in a nutshell, he's gentle and kind and as painless as possible. He works with you as partners to find good solutions. His rates are reasonable and his staff works with you to find payment solutions. I highly recommend. When I was last in, a kid called in because there was a problem. They made time for them to fix it. So while you're supposed to have an appointment, they are there to help you. read more

When we moved to this area, one of the first tasks on my plate was to find an orthodontist for my daughter as her retainer was not fitting anymore. I contacted my previous orthodontists, asking for recommendations. I knew exactly the type of person I wanted - someone who was very experienced, honest, and VERY PATIENT. Dr. Sasaki's bio was on this list of recommended orthodontists in my area, and it just so happened that Dr. Sasaki's office was nearby, so I made an appointment for a consultation. Dr. Sasaki has 30+ years of experience, and he has just the right demeanor. He's low key and his bedside manners are impeccable. I asked many, many questions, and he answered each of them with precision and patience. Some people can get quite defensive or lose patience with me because of my questions. Anyone who knows me knows that I come prepared with a list of anywhere from 25-50 questions! What do I ask? It's anything from the approach the orthodontist wants to take (why, how, when, how long, etc), time it takes, details of the process, to billing and other miscellaneous bits of information. After much discussion with him, I came to the conclusion that he's very honest in his approach, extremely competent, and always looking out for his patient's interests. So, it's been 2+ years and we've gone through the retainer phase, and last summer, she finally got her braces for Phase II. It will be another year or two before she's out of them, but I wanted to say that Dr. Sasaki is an excellent choice for anyone considering orthodontic work for themselves and/or their family. I also have to mention his admin staff. His staff are very capable, professional and always pleasant to deal with as well. They walked me through the billing, answered all my questions, and it's been a breeze. I truly enjoy interacting with them each time I come in. Went to this orthodontic clinic as the reviews seemed pretty good. My upper retainers broke and I desperately needed a quick replacement. Dr. Jennifer Yau helped me through the process of getting the replacement and the entire experience was overall pleasant. She was very professional and actually cares about the patients' teeth. She even helped me make some adjustments on my lower retainer even though she did not have to. I received the retainer replacement in just three to four days and the replacement fitted my teeth perfectly. The staff here were all professional and nice and the overall clinic was clean. On 10/10/2012 people my braces finally came off! :) This whole process has been painless and easy, Dr. Sasaki has been gentle and thorough with my treatment. We had to alternate between my Periodontist and primary dentist to monitor my progress as I have a unique case. She seems less experienced, doesn't have the personal touch as Dr.Sasaki. I noticed as well that she dedicates more time speaking with Asian patients, with patients of other ethnicities is business like, or no contact at all. I am about half way through my adult braces. I have never worn braces before, and had really messed up teeth when I started. I am amazed every day when I look in the mirror, even with the metal and ceramic braces, I look 100X better then before I started! Dr. Sasaki and his entire staff have been wonderful through the process, and are always gentle and friendly when I come in. They make arrangements with my dentist (who is in the same building) to remove my wires, and then replace them when I have to get my teeth cleaned, which is great. I don't have much to compare this office too, but as far as getting braces as an adult goes, this experience has been really pleasant. read more
