The people who answer the phone at American Family are very nice, and the insurance agent I consulted with (Adrian Birdeno) took my calls whenever possible or returned them promptly. I must have had a dozen conversations with him, and each time he was generous with his time and explained various kinds of coverage in plain language. He's also good at explaining how insurance companies view certain situations if you're new to the world of insurance. I was in the process of applying for my first home loan, so everything was new to me, but if you're in the market for homeowner's or rental insurance, Adrian will put together a great package at very competitive rates without selling insurance that you don't need. I purchased a 2003 vehicle that they wanted to charge me over $400 a month for! I may be young, but I have a clean driving record. I instead went with Geico in the Portland area and they were super friendly (something the Allstate here lacks), and they are only charged me $250 a month. Best part with Allstate? After specifically telling them to cancel my full policy, they still added the $400 policy to my plan without my knowledge or consent. I had to find out by checking the app; to clarify my policy's were canceled. But instead, I found a new one! I do not recommend this Allstate whatsoever. It's worth it to use agencies in Portland Oregon for just a better experience.
