This place was ok. Had reservations and they told us they didn't have a good seat for us. We got put into a corner with absolutely no view. I had the seafood marinara. The red sauce was so thick... it was hard to appreciate the seafood. My man ordered ravioli. Maybe there were 5. Flat. Bland looking and tasting. Save your money and go to Al Capone's if you want Italian. If you want the view and have a good time go to wrecked by the sea next door. If you want a nice dinner and your renting a condo at one of the luxury buildings... hire a chef to come for a night. read more

Went there yesterday for dinner. Crowded but got seated quickly. Beautiful sunset, was amazing to sit outside and watch the full sunset. Their out door lighting was horrible more burned out bulbs than ones that lit. Bruschetta was good, toasted bread was soaked in oil, just different as I make it differently. I ordered Chicken Florentine and could hardly find the chicken under all the very rich sauce. Piece of chicken was flat almost as if they sliced the chicken breast. Husband ordered a steak and it had so much gristle and was tough. Service was slow but with so many large parties it could be expected. Would not recommend. read more

This restaurant is fantastic! I went for the first time during my recent Rocky point vacation and enjoyed it so much that I went back the next night. Same wonderful experience both times. Both nights we had incredible service. I wish I could remember the servers names. They were both friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Some items we ordered were: manicotti, filet mignon with Gorgonzola sauce, bruschetta and Caesar salad. All were so delicious! Cocktails were also great. This restaurant lacks service and quality food. We've been here a few times but we won't be coming back. The service was TERRIBLE! It took 2 HOURS to get our food. They gave our appetizers to the wrong table, they served the wrong dishes, they broke a wine glass on the table and were not happy when I asked to please replace my kids lemonade since the glass had shattered all over the table! When I try to tell the waiter he brought me the wrong dish he kept arguing with me saying I was wrong. Not once did the manager come to the table to talk to us. Also the quality of the food has changed a lot. Very poor! After not getting anything right, we left hungry and upset. read more

Good service and beautiful views, but the food was awful - almost as if it was frozen/microwaved. We shared the calamari - flavorless and soggy. Yum! My husband and I dined here two days ago- mid week. We had a table with a beautiful view of the water. The service was terrific. We both had fish, his came with a creamy pasta. They both came with a healthy serving of sautéed vegetables and a side salad. They brought bread to the table as well. It was plenty of food, and absolutely delicious! Mare Blu is a little gem with a great location facing the ocean. We were greeted at the door and seated immediately. Our server spoke wonderful English and was very attentive. We ordered a bottle of red wine, bruschetta, and octopus to start off our dinner. It was all very fresh. For dinner we ordered the crab ravioli and linguini al frutti di mare - it was good but I preferred the crab ravioli. For dessert, they brought out a birthday treat and sang 'happy birthday bambino'... there were 3 other birthdays that night so the whole restaurant was singing the song by the end of the night ha. The reason I took off the extra star is because it smells heavily of bleach and old cleaning product when you walk into the restaurant. Maybe it was just this night but we even heard another table talking about how they had a headache from the smell. You start to get used to it after a while but it was extremely strong. read more

What a beautiful place. Live pianist, great service and excellent views. The food was excellent and very affordable. I enjoyed the crab ravioli. It only came with 4 of them so was thinking I wouldn't be full but it was stuffed with crab I actually couldn't finish. Hands down the best espresso martini I've ever had. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and great food. Their homemade crab raviolis were exquisite and angel hair pasta with shrimp was right on point! We made a reservation, which I don't think we needed during the week but it's a perfect place to catch a beautiful sunset. read more

We traveled to Puerto Peñasco for our 33rd wedding anniversary and couldn't have been more pleased. The view was beautiful, the food was amazing and the service was professional and very welcoming! It's highly recommended and we will return! read more

I was in Rocky Point the weekend AFTER Thanksgiving which has definate pros and cons. Pros was that it was empty - cons in that the sun sets very early (around 5pm). I imagine the views from here are spectacular at a normal dinner time we just got there around 7pm - but the sun had long set, so nothing for us to see. The food is basic Italian, nothing crazy. Note that every entrée comes WITH a salad (not noted on menu) so my man ordered a Caesar salad and he said he would not have since he didn't realize we all got a garden salad anyway. I had the lasagna which was fine - very meaty and had more of a creamy Bolognese sauce. My man got the 3 cheese cannelloni, but vegetarians beware - it comes loaded with meat sauce. I slightly preferred it to the lasagna, but maybe only because I had a few bites. Portions are large. And it seemed everyone was there for some sort of birthday or anniversary - in which case, if you tell them, they give you a free piece of tiramisu. read more

Our friends took us here and we just love it! Gilberto took great care of us as well as the rest of the staff, excellent service all around. Food was exquisite, from the bread appetizers to their surf and turf, drinks and dessert. The views from the restaurant is mesmerizing watching the sun set from there and they have music playing from the business next door. Definitely created a memorable moment for us. read more

We came here after reading a review for wrecked at the reef. Waiting an hour for food would be ok if we didn't have young kids. Our bread had a blue film on it and was replaced . Clam chowder was just pieces of clams in the alfredo sauce. Not worth the price. Drive into town and eat at al capones read more

We stopped by for 4pm dinner, the view was perfect and right on the beach. Kids took a dip while we waited for our food. I had brought extras clothes as the place is not so casual. The service was perfect, and the drinks were nice too! We ordered margaritas in the rocks and they were strong we each had one . The food was delicious!!! We all ordered homemade pasta and a chicken salad.. everything was fresh and portions were well served we all had leftovers. I will surely visit this place again and a nice change from having Mexican all week! You can plan to stay after dinner for a nice sunset view or swimming in the beach ! read more

I hated this place, except for the view. The food was poor, OK at best. The prices are very high for what it is. IMHO the whole place has a pretension about it that I found disquieting. They appear to think that this is some upmarket 5* restaurant. Instead, it is a place with a nice view that is a slightly above microwaving sysco bagged food, like if this was Applebees. Also, I had to point out that a key ingredient of my meal, Kalamata olives was missing when my dinner was served. Next time I am in this area, I will try Wrecked at the Reef next door. Probably better value for US style food served without pretension. read more

The bread and home made butter was so yummy! The Clam chowder soup was the best we've ever had. Super rich so we are glad we decided to share. I had the house salad and my husband had the Caesar, mine was good and he said his dressing was fantastic, he said it tasted homemade! For dinner I had the Chicken Parm and he had the Shrimp Fettuccini Alfredo... both dinners were so amazing! Again rich but Devine! We ended our meal w the Flan and Creme Brûlée.... the flan was thick and delicious and the creme brûlée was good. Not the best I've ever had but still very good! We will be back! Sorry it took awhile to post my review about this restaurant. My husband and I are from Scottsdale and had recently purchased our condo here in rocky point. We love our new vacation place here and would really like to support local businesses especially restaurants where we can recommend friends and go out when they visit us. Mare Blue we had dinner here New Year's Eve. The place looked nice and we were very happy to try it. 7:30pm reservation, got seated at 8:30pm. I ordered our lobster tail and my husband ordered fillet. An hour later after we finally got our food, we were so hungry and excited to finally eat. My lobster came in looking like the 5$ special at fry's very tiny sitting on top of my hard and cold mash potatoes. It must have been cooked from the freezer because it was also cold inside my uncooked 3 Ounce at best not 6 ounces like I ordered lobster tail. My husband ordered his filet medium plus and it came in like a tiny stake not filet raw from the grocery store. It was brown not seared brown outside and cold meet inside. At this time it was almost 10pm and we were very hungry and been asking for bread. We told our waiter this and he called the manager which took awhile to get to us. When she finally talk to us, she said don't worry I will take care of this. No I'm sorry your hungry and you can't eat your food, but just don't worry we will take care of it. We said just bring us our bill and we will go. Bill comes at around $150.00 dollars and she took $10dollars off our bill. We got charged food that we couldn't eat cold and raw and had bread for dinner.... We don't mind paying, but save your money and go try other restaurants. This place is not good. I want to like this place and was willing to overlook some of the issues from our first visit as the food was so good. Last week service was extremely slow, the restaurant reeked of what we assumed was paint, and serviced was very disappointing. Very slow, with food delivered cold. The clam chowder was still good, but waited over 45 minutes for it. There was a bus load of visitors which may have slowed the kitchen down, but servers offered no explanation as to why things were taking so long. On our last night in Puerto Penasco ( Rocky Point) we ventured out to this AMAZING restaurant! Growing up Italian, I always hope to be pleasantly surprised by really great Italian food when going out to an Italian restaurant. All I can say is WOWWWW!! THIS PLACE IS FANTASTIC!!!! I had ordered the penne w/ vodka sauce. It had a slight kick, and totally terrific!! My compliments to the chef!!! Everyone had something different, chicken parm, linguine w/ clams, surf&turf, and linguine w/ shrimp. The cocktails were so inexpensive,large and perfectly done. The sangria was the best that I had ever tasted! The ambiance is beautiful, looking at the beach and ocean. Its next door to Wrecked at the Reef, so you will hear music from there if sitting outside.
