    Wedding on Smathers Beach
    Samuel T.

We had our reception at Margaritaville and the wedding across the street on Smathers Beach all coordinated through Margaritaville. They had a couple mishaps but Erika resolved them within 20 minutes! Also while she was sick at home. Just shows the lengths their team were willing to go to make sure our day was perfect! Since Erika was sick the managers took extra time with us to make everything beautiful! It was great to work with Erika, Roman, Levani, Nino, Kenya and Alex what a wonderful team. Thank you guys for everything!!

    The shuttle going into town

I loved my stay here. The rooms were clean, the staff was nice and the shuttle to and from town was amazing. John on the shuttle bus is a gem! He knows his history of the area, and gives awesome recommendations. He was such a light for the trips to and from downtown. The fees for the resort are pricey, but the stay was nice all in all.

What a great place to stay in Key West! The resort is spectacular, the pool amazing, the rooms so well appointed, the staff from reservations to check-in to bartenders, to housekeeping! everyone is friendly! The Tin Cup Chalice restaurant has great fish tacos, burgers, BLTA sandwich and more!

We tried to check in early (before lunch) but there were no rooms available, so we did all the check-in paperwork, then hit Duvall St. for some fun! We eventually made it back after sunset for a snack and nightcap. Bar area was packed, so we got a table. The staff here are so friendly! I mean ALL the staff. The front desk, servers, housekeeping, they were all so lovely! Our room was comfy. The shampoo, condition and shower gel smelled so good! Kind of spa-like but with a hint of the tropics. The beach was nice. I've never seen a beach where the water was completely flat. It reminded me of the Universal Studios backlot where they have Falls Lake where a lot of ocean/lake scenes for the big screen are filmed.

Our stay was wonderful because of the staff at this Margaritaville. The staff works together as a team and we especially appreciated all those at the desk - Brimm, Chris, Angie and Theresa. Each was willing to share their knowledge of the area and this contributed to a great stay . We found the staff to be efficient, friendly, accommodating, and helpful. Every morning for breakfast, Anita greeted us with smiles, and a hug! She started out the day for us in such a positive manner. The location for our family was perfect. It is across the street from Smathers Beach which is beautiful and the Hotel provides a shuttle to the downtown area. My only suggestion would be that the shuttle runs every half hour as opposed to every hour.

Batu, Hotel manager greeted us the first morning after we arrived and spent several minutes going over the resort qualities and history in KW. He talked to us every day we spent at the resort and the day we left he made a point to say good bye and have a safe trip. Top notch guy. I'm sure he inspires the rest of the resort staff. Jason (Food and Beverage Director?) - We spent a day at one of the pool Cabana's and Jason made sure it was setup for us and ready to use early in the morning. He went over all amenities offered at the resort. He also made a point to say hello every day and ask if we needed anything. Wayne (Front Desk) - Wayne greeted us upon our arrival and was very accommodating. He offered us cold fruit water and went over our resort perks. We are Margaritaville perk members. He was friendly and very accommodating. Levan and Kate - Tin Cup Chalice bartenders. These team mates made our stay unforgettable. The went above and beyond any service we have had at a resort or cruise ship. They really deserve the gold metal in our eyes. We can't wait to get back to see them. Agata (pool attendant) - Agata was a tireless worker around the pool area. She took care of the restrooms, which were always spotless, picked up dirty towels and provided new one for those just arriving. She was always on the move, cleaning, picking up after folks to make the pool area look clean an inviting. Every day we made a point to talk to her, she was a very sweet lady. Victor & Pablo (Tin Cup Chalice night bartenders) - Very attentive and courteous. They went over the specials and provide us with recommendations for food and drink. Destiny (Pool Bar bartender) - A very hard worker and always on the move. Working the pool area has to be a tough gig, especially in the heat we've had. She worked tirelessly making sure all the guests had food and beverage and enjoyed a clean pool area. Luann (Margaritaville shuttle driver) - She was very passionate about Key West and making sure she could provide as much high value information as she could in her short trips to town or the resort. She always had a smile on her face. Christina and Carmille (Tin Cup Chalice servers) - Serving breakfast with a smile is very important and these two made the start to our day a pleasant one. Excellent servers who were always smiling. Shea (Front Desk) - Shea greeted us with a smile and went over our folio thoroughly, just to make sure we had no questions. She offered to hold our luggage until we were ready to leave the resort. On a side note, I would like to add the food at the resort was 5 star. Far better than many resorts we've stayed at. Kudos to the chefs and kitchen help. Smathers beach is across the street and is a nice beach Typical Atlantic ocean beach, with some seaweed in the water, but nothing crazy. A nice sandbar a few hundred feet out or so. Umbrella's, chairs, and kayaks/paddle boards offered at a cost(not associated with the resort).

Property does not have one consistent vibe, but it is closest attributed to South Beach/modern. Rooftop bar has live music in the evening and good drinks while overlooking Duval street. Breakfast selection is good, but if you are used to complementary breakfast through the Marriott status, then you are only offered eggs, bacon, granola, and toast. Sadly the bacon was stale (we were one of the first, if not the very first to order breakfast, so it being completely cold and stale tells me it's not from today). We asked for coffee at breakfast and were pointed to the coffee station on the front end of the bar. Just drip coffee, nothing special. No milk, alternatives or honey, just cream, sugar and stevia. That part could be improved for it being about $400-$500/night. The room itself is decorated well and clean. Plantation shutters look great, but they do let in light in the morning since hotel doesn't have any curtains. Walls are thin as we heard the phone ring, but turns out it was our neighbor.

Even when I forgot to get something from the car and needed it again. I walked to it, but they offered to get it. The cleaning staff was friendly when we saw them in the hallways also. We book a King Pool view room and it was clean and spacious. It has a small fridge, coffee maker with pods, a pull out couch and 2 chairs at the desk, and a tv. The bed was firm but comfortable and the pillows were nice. The only thing I could see is the at the hallways of floor 2 needed some patching and paint at a few areas. We will definitely come here again on our next trip, soon.

On top of that the room is almost closet sized with an exposed shower and sink which makes it feel very humid in the room. Theres barely enough space between the bed and wall to walking into the room. The shower also hadn't been cleaned with a piece of old soap stuck to the floor and bug crawling under the pillow when i moved it.. I brought it to the attention of the man working the front desk who first told me it was a queen. The GM came on later that evening and admitted that it wasn't a queen and offered us a slightly larger rom but same size bed. Again the sink was in the room and it was stuffy and humid which made it hard to sleep more than four hours. I canceled the room after one night and tried to get my money back, but they've refused. The pull out sofa bed poked me in the back and was uncomfortable. Sand in between the blanket and the sheets from previous people I assume. Then we received a text at 6pm on a Saturday night asking us to be mindful of the guests below us to not move furniture? (We did not move any furniture so we were all very confused?) They have complimentary water (2 bottles) in your room. They have a mini fridge and options to buy snacks and liquor. They have fruit infused water next to the pool daily. You will stay hydrated. There is an honor bar next to the water; which has a few pricy options for a beer or other canned beverages. I did see plenty of people have their own drinks poolside. So, outside drinks are allowed at the pool...but no glass. They have two pools. I preferred the pool towards the back. I would stay here again but during high season, the rooms get expensive. I loved room 3 but would love to someday stay in the cute cabin looking rooms up behind the pool. They have a covered porch, sitting room m, and a large bathroom. Overall, the service was solid. The grounds of the hotel are lovely, the bed was amazing, and the pools were a lovely respite from the crowded streets and heat of the city.
