I stayed at Seascape Tropical Inn in March of 2026 and it was an unacceptable experience. We checked in around 4 PM, left for the evening, and returned around 10:30-11 PM. When we got into bed, we immediately noticed a strong smell of urine. After removing the fitted sheet, we found a large yellow stain on the protective cover. I called the hotels emergency number and instead of helping, the staff member repeatedly told me it was "not possible" there was urine. After arguing just to be taken seriously, she eventually came to the hotel but remained dismissive, briefly smelled the sheets without checking the stained area, and had me carry the soiled sheets downstairs myself. We were only given fitted sheets and a blanket and had to remake the bed ourselves, using multiple sheets to try to create a barrier. However, the urine smell was still present. The front desk was polite the next morning, but the situation itself was unacceptable. No guest should have to sleep in a urine-contaminated bed or be treated this way when reporting it. Additionally, I have been attempting to get a refund for nearly a month and the management has not returned any of my emails. I would not stay here again. read more

Absolutely loved this little B&B. The location is perfect! Very close to Duval St, Hemingway House, The Lighthouse and the Southernmost Point Buoy. The staff were amazing and super helpful. JB gave us discounts for electric golf cart rentals and booked our kayak tour for us. The B&B cat, Mario, was loveable and friendly and waiting by our door each night when we returned. Do not stay here. They changed the room I booked. They said that the room they gave me was quieter, but - I have never experienced this before - at the same time they gave me earplugs at the time I registered. It turns out there was a rooster that started crowing at 4am that, surely, they knew about but didn't tell me. The "pool" is a joke - basically just an odd sized hot tub. Parking is three blocks away. I told them I had to check out early in the morning before breakfast was officially served. They gave me access to cereal and some milk, which was fine, but they gave me no utensils - so I had to eat the cereal by scooping it out of a bowl. On top of all the preceding, the room is way too expensive for what you get. read more

Just a great find! I'm so happy they were able to accommodate us for just one night. Especially for a Friday. It only makes me sad we couldn't stay an extra night or at least enjoy the breakfast in the morning. We booked the Havana room. Which has a king bed, loft with queen bed, mini kitchen, and private entrance. The location is perfect, right next to Hemingway house, and Duval street. Staff was perfect and extremely friendly and helpful. Even being allergic to cats, I didn't mind the friendly felines roaming the Inn. They keep it so clean, I didn't even sneeze once. Will definitely be back, and highly recommend this B&B to anyone heading out to Key West - even just for a day! read more

Loved this place. We spent a week or two searching around online for someplace with a room(s) that would comfortably accommodate four adults who didn't want to sleep right next to each other. They happened to show up on a hotels.com search with the Havana Suite at a pretty decent price, so we jumped on it. They did have one quarter-point demerit, but being a small independent B&B, I cut them some slack. A day after making the 4-day reservation (which we only made a few days before driving down), they ran a charge on the credit card for the first night. It surprised us, but was no big deal. The Havana Suite itself was nearly perfect for our needs. Only downfalls were 1) that sound really carries between the loft and the downstairs bed, so snorers will still wake everyone up, and 2) the shower, while attractive, is awkward. There is a gorgeous big rain shower head in the middle of a small shower stall, so getting out from under the water to scrub/condition is impossible. But... the room had a great kitchenette, a private balcony, and an entrance set apart from the rest of the rooms (making late night post-bar arrivals unobtrusive). We even had the company of the resident cat most of the time we were there. He plunked right down on the main bed and went to sleep. The breakfast was great- bagels with house-mixed cream cheeses, pastries, hard boiled eggs, and lots of fresh fruit. Not too heavy but no typical continental sugar assault. We didn't make it for happy hour, but they appear to have a wine tasting thing in the evenings. As others have mentioned, the hot tub is more of a warm tub, but it was still relaxing after the long drive down the keys. A few more degrees would really be appreciated though. On top of the space and the breakfast, the location was perfect. Sandwiched between the Hemingway House and Duval, on the quieter end of the strip. The bars, restaurants, and shops within a block were great for getting away from the fishbowl drinks and trolleys, but were still only a quarter mile away from the "scene" and maybe a half mile from the water. Parking is pure luck. You can park free on the street in the neighborhood, but it's every man for himself finding (and squeezing into) a space. There is a lot the B&B provides a few blocks away, but save that as a last resort. It may take a few laps, but you should be able to find a spot. The B&Bs in Old Town are definitely the way to do Key West, and this one was great for us. read more

Stayed at Seascape "B &B "several times until new owners bought it & became Seascape "Tropical Inn" Was there 3 weeks after the change and wasn't allowed to check out early because of terrible nite. 2 years later expected changes and unfortunately tried again with friends from Seattle in a second room. AFTER ALL, ROOM RATES WERE JACKED UP OVER 50 pct. The place had been painted with MINOR changes to the tiny hot tub, (now called a Pool) Parking space in front had GRAY painted curb WHICH WAS CLAIMED s a tow away zone. GRAY paint? Not a legal, honest claim. B'fast room was minimized, but not as much as the B'fast itself. Once again we couldn't leave, so we went elsewhere for it the next day. Wall mounted air conditioner ground along all nite ,but telling front desk (cubicle w 1 girl space) only brought agreement that "they're ALL like that" Breakfast room had been minimized, but the breakfast was worse. 2nd morning we went elsewhere to buy a REAL B'fast. Parking was blocks away , and I was later told if I stayed longer than check out time 11AM, ID HAVE TO PAY EXTRA. If you want a well located place near Duvall, this is ok, but you'll have to deal with antagonistic front desk and horrible EVERYTHING ELSE. Good reviews here are from before the Mgmt change. We wouldn't go back there even if the old prices were back. read more

Pleasant little guest house just off of the Quiet end of Duval and in the same block as the Hemingway House. Hosts have been living down here for 12 years and running this inn for 3. Nice continental breakfast each day with extended hours; very accommodating to our needs and fit well with what we were looking for this trip for price and amenities. We stayed by the pool for four nights and the front door the last night, owing to our last minute booking. Was quieter by the pool (largish hot-tub), but not bad out front. This is kind of tough one for me. If you asked me my feelings about Seascape Tropical Inn immediately after checking out, the feelings would be a wee more warm and fuzzy than they are now. I'll get to why in a bit, but first, my experience with the Inn. We stayed 2 nights in the Havana suite which was much better in person than as it appeared online, which was great. All the pictures you see have those awful floral bedspreads, dated wicker chairs and tattered furnishings, but the rooms must have been recently redesigned, as it was clean and updated. The bed was super comfortable and the private entrance with the small deck was nice too. The Inn itself was rather cute and also very clean, and the location was one of it's main selling points, being right off of Duval, albeit, about a 10 minute walk to the more active end of the street -- but definitely no complaints with the location here. The breakfast in the morning was perfect for me. I'm not a huge breakfast eater and am happy with a yogurt/fruit or cereal, and so their spread fit the bill. There is no meat or hot food on it (minus a toasted bagel), but the specialty cream cheeses and butter were a hit. And also... mimosas. The drawbacks were the lack of a swimming pool which would have really been nice to cool off in after walking around under the boiling sun. They do have a hot tub, or rather, a luke-warm tub, so there's that. A second downfall would be the size of the bathroom in our suite. The shower was sooo leetle. And the bathroom mirror must have been hung by someone tall, as it was difficult for me to use at my 5'3 stature, starting at my shoulders and making it pretty difficult to check out my outfit. The toilet did have a neat dual flushing system though. The A/C was noticeably loud and there was a cockroach that scurried it's way across the floor, but aside from that, the stay at Seascape Tropical Inn was definitely enjoyable and a place I would stay at again... until the day after check-out, when I received an email from their customer service with a subject line "damage to the property". Dun dun duuuunnn! To make a long story less long, apparently, house keeping found "deep yellow stains" on our linens, and upon washing them twice, was not able to remove them and therefore charged me $150 to replace the sheets. Whhhaaaa? After reading the email, I thought long and hard.. "was there anything at all that I could think of that would have caused permanent deep yellow stains?" Nope, not at all. I thought of a plethora of things that could have caused a yellow stain, ie. pee, beer, white wine, puke - all of which come out with washing (I know first hand) but also none of which ended up in the bed during out 2 night stay. We were respectful of the room and there was no way that anything we had with us or that we did could have caused permanent damage to the sheets. So we sent a strongly worded letter and Seascape did in fact refund the $150 charge on my credit card... but... it left me feeling a little wonky. My cynical side tells me that they saw young(er) people and wanted to see how far of a ride they could take us on. My other more understanding side says that somehow someway, between the time we left the room and the time they pulled the sheets from the dryer, deep yellow stains emerged, and they genuinely thought it was at our hand. In the end it worked out okay, but I feel compelled to put it out there, in case my cynical side is correct, so I'd want to warn a brotha. Inn is about 40 yards off of Duval st..no noise whatsover..clean cozy..staff great...and.cont. breakfast was great..small spa/pool to get wet in..complimentary wine in pm and mimosa in am...highly recommend and would definitely stay again.. read more

CAUTION......, if you are booking this b&b online, be aware that you have exactly 7 days from the time of check-in to cancel or the hotel will charge you $60.00 to cancel the reservation. I am reporting this because when I called to cancel, the lady said that I would be charged the fee. I said I was within the time limit and got upset. She said she would call me back and do some research. Well, what she did was try to run my credit card for the $60.00. I imagine since I was within the time limit Travelocity would not allow her to charge my card....., but she did try which is why I'm reporting this to all that are thinking about staying here. Please keep in mind that we did not end up staying at this b&b , so the property and rooms might be very nice, but be aware of their cancellation policy. I stayed at Seascape Tropical Inn last year and had a positive experience at the Inn. I booked again this year online for Fourth of July weekend at a rate of $240 per night. Unfortunately, I received a call stating there was an error and the rate is $309 per night. I'm really disappointed the Inn did not honor their online prices. I had been checking the prices for a few days and they stayed consistent at $ 240/night so I feel it's a very dishonest practice to call a customer and increase the rate. Sadly, I will not be recommending or staying at Seascape Tropical Inn again. read more
