Sometimes ya just have to do the tourist thing, so yeah... we stopped at Margaritaville. From the moment we walked through the door until the moment we left, it was all bright smiles, upbeat music drifting through the room, and a staff that genuinely seemed happy to be there. The place had that lively, vacation-y buzz to it--the kind of atmosphere where you can hear laughter over the clink of glasses and the hum of conversation. We were seated quickly, and our server was outstanding--attentive without hovering and on top of everything from start to finish. The margaritas? Exactly what you'd expect from a place that built an empire on them. They came out cold and crisp, with that clean tequila bite, a tart lime tang, and just enough sweetness to keep things balanced. The salt on the rim gave each sip a little extra pop, and after the food arrived, I found myself ordering another. Now, the fish and chips... two orders, and both landed squarely in the "mediocre" category. They were obviously turning them out as fast as they could, but they did arrive hot, with a crunchy exterior that gave way to a fairly ordinary, slightly dry bite inside. The tartar sauce and coleslaw were fine--nothing that will make you write home, but nothing to complain about either. Was it the best meal in pigeon forge? Nope. Was it a pleasant stop with good service, good drinks, and a fun atmosphere? Absolutely. Sometimes that's enough. Grabbed dinner here recently and it was OK. First, we didn't have a reservation, but we were seated immediately. The restaurant is pretty large and I guess they expect lots of people who are just walking around the Island to come in :) Anyway, I started my meal off with a "top shelf" margarita, and it was pretty decent. I wouldn't say it was any better than any other margarita I've had, but I'm definitely not an expert. My wife and I shared a steak bowl as our entree and it was a bit overpriced and OK but not great. I will say that our server was honest about certain food items (my wife asked him about the Caesar salad and he described it as being only OK) so that was appreciated. Overall, I guess I wasn't expecting that much, but it was an OK experience for a chain vacation meal. read more

Our food was decent, and the service was good; when one of steaks was undercooked, they fixed it up right quick with no questions. The place was clean, and it has cool Jimmy Buffett decorations. The music isn't just Jimmy; it's a Jimmy song, then another song, usually a country-beach song. There's a giant blender that fills with green water from time to time to look like margaritas. That said, their margaritas are almost all on the rocks; they only had a few available frozen. Cool atmosphere, decent food, but very pricey, and not as "Jimmy-like" as I expected, though there's plenty of Jimmy Buffett pictures and themes around. We had dinner here on a Monday night. There was about an hour wait at 7pm. They texted us when our table was open. There is indoor and patio seating. We chose 1st available and sat on the patio with live music playing. They have GF items listed on the menu and there is quite a lot to choose from. They also have a dedicated fryer for fries. We paid almost $200 per night for an RV site. They advertise hot tub. Signs say 14 and up. But every night infested with children, including infants in diapers. I complained to the front desk but was told the hot tub is a free for all. No rules or standards. Their brochures are to say the least misleading. read more

Margaritaville on Island Drive has a lot to offer. It's in a great location 12 minutes from Dollywood, 20 minutes from Gatlinburg, and walking distance from a number of restaurants and activities on the island. Rooms were spacious, modern, and had the added bonus of being pet-friendly. They have balcony rooms which offer an overlook view of the activities on the island side or a quieter overlook of the river where you can see turtles, herons, geese, and beavers. Staff was very welcoming and helpful and ensured you had what you need. They have a great rooftop hot tub and pool overlooking the ferris wheel along with a rooftop bar. While a bit pricey, it was worth it for the amenities and location read more

This restaurant unfortunately was our worst service experience in Tennesse. Everything that we ordered came out incorrectly and late. Our server had no empathy. He treated my wife's gluten allergy like it was a fad and rolled his eyes when we made him aware of her allergy. Restaurants duty is to take allergens seriously because for many it's not a fad and can be life threatening. I personally left the restaurant without eating anything. After waiting an excessive amount of time because our server was more concerned with the neighboring table that came after us I finally got my dish. The fish tacos looked unappetizing with a half of piece of fish broken up for 3 tacos. Each taco had a sliver of fish with lettuce encompassing 90% of the tacos. My son has an allergy and we ordered grilled chicken specifically for him. Instead they brought fried chicken. When asked for them to do it over my server looked at me and asked me am I sure I want to send it back because it's going to take a while. My wife's food was missing one of her items ordered. Our server did not apologize and had no remorse. He just avoided us when the manager got involved. After all of these mistakes and the extremely long wait they still charged us for the meals we ordered only taking off 1 item that came contaminated with gluten. You don't pay full price for allergy ridden sub par food or service. It is the principle of the matter. Another table reached out to us and said they had issues with their food as well. Staff needs proper training . Safe to say we will not be going back to this location and wait for trips to Orlando Florida to enjoy Margaritaville. Save your time and money and please go elsewhere. Avoid it like the plague. Rum runner drink tasted like straight up rubbing alcohol. Sent it back. The coconut shrimp come with some mayo based non pineapple or coconut sauce now not the sweet orange colored pineapple based sauce. Rendered the coconut shrimp tasteless and dry. My husbands steak he ordered rare came out well done. The remake took 15 mins. My son asked for ketchup for his burger and fries and never received it. Visit this place for the live music outside on the back deck. If you're walking around the island has a good chance you will hear live music coming from this place. If you do your live music coming from this place go visit. It's a fun place to sit and catch up. I believe food options at neighboring restaurants in the island provide better places to eat. Awful. Ordered a cheeseburger in paradise medium and a garlic bacon burger with no lettuce or onion ring. GBC came with lettuce, sent it back. All they did was take the lettuce off (it was still in the cheese) and then added a tomato.. which isn't part of it. The CIP is a "custom blend burger" which is a fancy way of saying frozen and it was raw. Also we only heard 1 JB song while we were there. Wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

Wait staff was friendly and attentive. We placed our drink order and app order at the same time and when she brought our drinks we placed our dinner order. Here's where things get bumpy..they bring our dinner order out and we Didn't get the apps. Halfway through finishing our dinner they bring one of the two apps we ordered and I requested they just keep it and remove the apps from the ticket. About 5 minutes later, they bring the second app out that I had requested they don't worry with and remove from ten ticket..not trying to be difficult I told them I would just keep that app and leave it on the ticket. We finished dinner and when the ticket was brought first app was still on the ticket although we sent it back and didn't eat it. So I told her I would pay for it but I'd like to take it to go..she looked at me like she was confused and I reminded her that it was in fact sent back and why, but that when the second. Came out we did keep it and it was on the ticket as well. She did end up having the kitchen remake the app so we could take it with us instead of just removing it from the ticket and I was fine with that. The only reason I took a Star was for all of the confusion and that they were out of a few things we tried to order and discontinued another item we tried ordering. This was the worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant before, genuinely an awful time from left to right. First off, the server was terrible. I didn't get his name, but he was some blonde-haired surfer guy. I'm not sure if he was getting into the margaritas in the back but he was so off. First off, he brought us someone else's food, then brought me a plate with rice and beans that he said he'd substitute with mac and cheese, since he said that was something he could do (The rice was also basically uncooked). Upon the mac and cheese being wheeled out by a much more competant server, it turns out that the "Mac and Cheese" that I ordered was but noodles with Alfredo sauce and a poot of parmesan sprinkled on it, but unfortunately it was the freshest thing on that table. The fish tacos I ordered was basically a single fishstick (that I assumed was microwaved, since it was nore dry than a popeyes biscuit) in a mount everest of lettuce. It was barely even blackened like I asked. It was only after that, the surfer guy stumbled over to out table and took our still like 3/4 filled cups, replaced them with new ones, and asked if we wanted more water, we said no, he didn't care, he gave us more water. After the nightmare that was having the waiter ask if we wanted desert when we weren't even finished the food we were eating, we got the bill, and the "replaced" Alfredo sauce noodles were an extra almost 3 dollars, the waiter never told us this was extra and just said that it would be swapped out with the month old rice they STILL GAVE ME AND LEFT WITH ME AFTER I SAID I DIDN'T WANT IT! Also, I'm assuming that the drink refills that we didn't ask for were NOT FREE, since if not, it would be 4.50 FOR A CUP OF DR. PIBB, WHICH, WTF IS DR. PIBB EVEN? WHY AM I GETTING OFFBRANDS?!?!?! Overall, the atmosphere was loud and annoying, the service was the worst service I've ever had, and the food was the overpriced slop that I wouldn't even gove to my dog, under threat of being arrested for animal cruelty. The only reason, the ONE. SINGLE. REASON I'm not giving this a one star is the photographer was really cool and gave really great pictures. Give him a raise, fire the server. We politely asked if we could move closer to the river, and after being reseated, we waited over 20 minutes without anyone taking our order or even bringing us drinks. This is hands down without a doubt the worst Margaritaville location I've ever been to which is saying a lot as I have been to many of them. The first red flag was how dirty the bar top was. My husband and I needed a quick bite to eat and opted to sit at the bar to save time. Mistake. There were only two other people sitting at the bar so they were not busy but it took forever to get the bartenders attention. We should have left then. Then the bartender handed us a food menu and a drink menu, both of which were heavily soiled and sticky. We should have left then. We ordered food and took turns going to the bathroom to wash our hands. My husband said the men's bathroom was disgusting with an unknown liquid all over the floor, no paper towels, and no way to exit the bathroom without touching the dirty door handle. We should have left then. Our food came and IDK what they brought me but it was most certainly not what I ordered. When I pointed that out to the bartender he told me the kitchen was "drowning". Why? They weren't even busy! They remade my food and the order was still wrong but this time it was much closer to what I'd ordered so I ate what I could stomach of it. I say that because I'm pretty sure they made the rice sometime last week. It was terrible. We had to ask the bartender three times if he would bring our check before he did. Why is life so difficult at this Margaritaville?! The place is nasty dirty. The food is old. The service is bad. Everything is overpriced. Went on a Sunday evening and it wasn't too busy. The atmosphere is exactly what you'd expect from Margaritaville--fun, laid-back, and perfect for a relaxed time. We ordered two burgers, one with fries and the other with sweet potato fries, but our order came out with onion rings and regular fries instead. I really liked this Margaritaville. It is located on the Island in Pigeon Fordge and is convenient to the other stores. They also have a gift shop to get some souvenirs as well. The service was good, our waiter was quick and efficient as well as friendly. The food came out fresh and hot and looked delicious. Live music was going on when we were eating, and it was nice to eat in a peaceful place with some live music. The ambiance is really good here. Lots of decorations and things to look at and see. It's your typical large restaurant chain, based on a bigger than life musical personality. It has great island vides and an over the top margarita blender that fills with "booze" during the Margaritaville song. There's lots of cool decor items throughout the joint. We came in on a freezing 34° night and were seated near the front doors, which sent in a blast of cold air every time it opened. Other than that it was a fun culinary experience. We had the fish tacos, chicken tenders, grilled shrimp and fish and chips. All of them had good flavor, but they weren't great, it all needed just a bit more seasoning. They LOST MY MONEY!! The customer service we received was horrible!! We have travelled to several Maragittaville hotels, including this one and this is the worse service we've ever had!! Sonya, manager on hand at the check-in desk was SO RUDE!!! We love the Margarittaville brand so much, we plan our vacations around the hotels!! We've been to the Margaritaville at: Key West, Pigeon Forge Island (several times), Gatlinburg, The Inn on the Strip, Pensacola (Before it changed hands), Hollywood, The Compass in Pigeon Forge, ... We are Perks customers and Have been VERY LOYAL to the brand. This time we decided to pay them a little at a time to soften the blow of the Outrageous fees they charge, and they lost our money!!! They had messed it up before, so the third time I talked to them I recorded the conversation and let Chloe know that in advance. After the manager Sonya heard the conversation, she completely disregarded where I repeatedly asked Chloe if we were paid down to $0 on one of our two rooms we booked and she confirmed several time that yes, the fees were zero'ed out. When we went to check In, they said they didn't see where we paid for it and Sonya said "I don't know why she'd tell you that", While I spend the next hour and twenty minutes standing at the counter arguing with Sonya, another manager comes up to me and asked what happened. I told her and she said "Chloe usually doesn't make mistakes". That tells me that Sonya must be the problem. After they told us we had to pay that $1300 again? We left and went to Timber Tops cabin and paid $1200 for one cabin for 4 nights after spending "$4000 at Margaritaville for 5 days!! I think the biggest slap in the face is that is that there were at least three managers there, and NONE of them offered any kind of compensation! Not a bottle of wine and two mugs, ( which is free to Perks members and I even asked for, they said no). I can get a $5 off food coupon at any coupon book in Pigeon Forge, they didn't even offer that! Sonya was completely comfortable with letting a life-long, loyal customer walk out without even trying to fix it! This was the WORST experience I've ever had at a Margaritaville and I will NEVER give that brand any more of my money!! I'm sure when they read this review, the top manager will have the same response as Sonya "who cares, we don't need your money"! read more
