Buckle up. The Smell. As soon as we entered there was strong smell - not food, kind of like a sewer. My husband decided it was a cleaner. I disagree but hey I had not eaten since the morning. The Wait(s). 1. We were seated by the hostess and it took 13 minutes for our server to acknowledge us. We saw multiple servers. Finally one stopped. We were about to bail. 2. We ordered a margarita. Then waited close to 20 minutes. Apparently the bar was backed up. As soon as the first one came, we ordered a second. And ordered an app. 3. Our app arrived after a lengthy time - probably another 15 minutes. That seems average for a food item. When we ordered our waitress said she was going to drop off napkins and silverware. She did not. When the app arrived we tried asking the food runner for them but he vanished almost immediately. We flagged down another server, who said she would get it. But she told our waitress and we waited another 10 minutes. We had decided at this point that we were leaving and asked for the check. Our waitress gave us a sob story that no one understands that she is doing the job of 3 people and she can't keep up. As a side note, I do think it was a sewer smell. Horrible experience! We came In with a table of 13 and waiting patiently as they got the table ready. We knew it would take a minute and was patient and understanding. Sat down and we got water and a couple of us ordered drinks. The waitresses had went down the line to take our orders so everything would be in order. This chain is more known for ambience than excellent food, so keeping that in mind is essential to not be too dissapointed. What a joke of a restaurant. The waitress started by telling us the 10 entrees that were not available that evening. What they did have in stock would have been a shorter list. Appetizers took over an hour to make it to the table. Took 40 minutes to get silverware. Plates were dirty with stuck on food and we were given an attitude about getting clean dishes. Glasses still had lipstick on them. Main dishes were delivered over a course of 30 minutes to an hour after the appetizers, one plate at a time. Everything was overcooked and either bland or burned. Salads were served on very hot dinner plates that obviously just came out of the dish washer. One entree never got delivered, and by the time they came back to check we refused the last order to be made because the food was below subpar. Restrooms were filthy and unusable. Wait staff and management are incompetent. Stay far away. This was literally the worst dining experience I have had, ever. This place had zero redeeming qualities. read more

Margaritaville is a tourist spot here on the river walk, keep in mind that. Our party was a total of 7 and we stopped by here for a refresher and a snack before walking around on a hot busy weekend. Walking in the restaurant was not busy a few tables and people at the bar. Beers were ordered and one beer came out hot while the other 10 -15 minutes after everyone got theirs the server told us they ran out of the keg and got us a new beer. ( having to wait that long and not been informed of the situation was just horrible especially half of us are visitors) we ordered the nachos which were okay. They had melted nachos cheese with a little of meat which all the toppings were on top and by the time you got to the bottom They were dry. We asked for salsa which we never got. I won't say the name of our waitress to keep her anonymous but she told us the A/C has been out for about 2-3 months, so I can only assume the owner is too cheap to fix it. Which is ridiculous in this TEXAS HEAT! Fix your A/C! Not only for your customers but for your staff!!! Well, I did a majority of the trip planning this time, so I decided to get this out of the way and have this be the first stop we go to right after we landed to start our trip. Our waitress was friendly and busy. It took while to get our drinks from the bar. My drink was fabulous, my husbands margarita was good too but had way too much ice in it and barely any drink. He ordered a second one and told them not to put so much ice, that one was better. For dinner, I ordered the Southwest Chicken salad. The salad was nice, green and fresh. The chicken is what I wasn't crazy about. To me it tasted like cheap frozen chicken that had fillers in it and been heated/seared on the grill.
