Well first off their prime concern is to sell you a timeshare. They offer discount coupons if you attend the (1hr) pitch. Well that turns into a high pressure 4-5 hr deal! A wasted day for a few dollars savings. Also if you don't attend they bill your cc 328.00! Which adds up to more that the discounts. Most of staff is rude. You have to wait around for golf carts to take you anywhere on property. Whick sometimes takes 1/2 hr. And bars and restaurants automatically add 18% gratuity to your tab. So unbelievably disappointing. We show up only to find out that the restaurants and bars have been shut down - no one told us beforehand. What is very interesting is that other dining options are still open around the island - it seems that Margaritaville is unique in that they were shut down. There was no where to get food within walking distance on site - I finally had to walk off of resort property to purchase chips at Louie's Market - pretty much a local 7/11 nearby, which I would not recommend. There is also only ONE place that delivers to the resort, per the concierge, Senor Pizza. I felt absolutely stranded. What really bothers me is that they did not tell me before checking in. They had my number, I had texted them the day before confirming my check-in time, but they could not warn me that there is no food or drinks on property. I felt completely misled and just stranded. Additionally, the beach is not usable at all. Seaweed is an issue on the island (especially the North and East); however, it appears the resort stopped attempting to control the problem. Then entire property smelled like rotting seaweed. I paid $977 per night for 2 nights. I spoke to extra holidays (what I booked through) that day and the resort and they were unwilling to give any refund. I tried to make it work but after waking up the next morning unable to find food or coffee within walking distance and smelling that awful seaweed smell, I had enough. We checked out and went to one of the many other resorts on the island with working beaches and open restaurants. Upon check-out, they did refund me for the night I was no longer staying; however refused to even give a slightly reduced rate for the first night. I cannot believe this resort charged me nearly $1,000 for one night with no nearby food or any semblance of an accessible beach. I also cannot believe how unhelpful staff was about this - hotel kept telling me there was nothing they could do about my charge, it was up to extra holidays. Extra holidays told me it was up to the hotel. I spent the first hours of my vacation being bounced back and forth and then had to hop in a cab for food. I understand we need to be flexible during COVID; however, I cannot believe I had no warning from the hotel and that they were so unwilling to recognize that they had no delivered any of the promised services other than a bed to adjust my rate. I am also very suspicious as to why only their restaurants and bars were shut down. We moved to the Ritz Carlton the next day and had a lovely experience. They have the same seaweed problem but are actively clearing it off of the beach each day. All of their restaurants are also open, they are restricting restaurants only to hotel guests and not permitting anyone to wait at a bar (need to sit an be served a drink, which they do very quickly). I am willing to spend on these trips as long as I can trust the brand. I have learned from this not to trust Wyndham/ Margaritaville. read more

First things first I like to say I absolutely loved our room. We did get upgraded and we are on the hilltop suites area in building 10. All those hillside buildings are quite a little walk to get up to but the good thing is they have golf carts shuttling people up and down all day and night, The views are breathtaking and the better pool is definitely up top. The service was absolutely outstanding for us and our concierge Delma helped us throughout the whole vacation going above and beyond with booking reservations for us giving recommendations etc. One downside was that the beaches over here do you get hit by the seaweed so it's not the nicest resort beach but right across the street about five minute walk away there is Coki beach which is amazing, beautiful and fun with crystal clear waters and great snorkeling. Over there they have Jet ski rentals along with the underwater sea observatory, and tons of activities. The JetSki rentals were the least expensive we found on the island at $60 for half an hour which is a great deal out here I strongly recommend Margaritaville resort and will definitely come back read more

Unexpectedly great food! Traditional food with local flavors by the water. We ordered Grilled Shrimp, Mahi Mahi fish w rice, Seafood Mac n Cheese, and Baby Back Ribs. The ribs were one of the best I've had. The meat just smoothly fell off the bone. The service was average. It was great at the beginning but then changed once it got crowded. Ate at the Margaritaville restaurant our last evening. The view outside to the ocean is very romantic and relaxing. Service was decent. Food was ok. Our appetizer lava lava shrimp was the better than our main course. Ordered the citrus shrimp salad with vinaigrette... the vinaigrette was great but overall salad was ok. Shrimp could have been tastier. The mahi mahi dinner with rice was also ok but could have been better seasoned. Seems no island cook was in that kitchen!! Vegetables was a bit under cooked n lacking flavor. If the waitress would have checked in after the dish came we would have definitely given her that feedback to get some tastier vegetables. read more

We stayed here for a week in December. Their beach was closed due to toxic seaweed. It smelled like rotting garbage. They did a good job with cleanup so it wasn't too bad. When we got onto the property we were told to park and we would be helped with our bags. No one did. The parking lot was full. We ended up walking quite a ways with our bags. It was hot! Inside the lobby was cool but we had to wait a while to be helped. The staff was friendly and gave us a margarita up on arrival. That definitely lifted our spirits. We got our room and wristbands. The wristbands are huge. If you are petite you will have to wear them on your ankle because it will fall off your wrist. That's interesting because you use it to open your door. Several things I didn't like about the resort. 1. I couldn't charge things to my room like I normally do at every other resort I go to. It's inconvenient because when I'm in a bikini I don't really have room for cash or card. Isn't that the whole idea of a resort. 2. The sent us to a beach next to them called Coki Beach. This was a beautiful beach. It was super friendly locals. Great but STRONG drinks. However, everyone spoked the weed. We didn't like that. Unfortunately, while we were swimming someone stole my Apple Watch. I didn't leave it out. Is was in my bag. :( I have not been able to locate it. 3. There was absolutely no room service/housekeeping. This was unfortunate because we were there for a week so we had breakfast in our room. No one would come get our trash. That was a disaster. 4. If you needed anything (towels, anything in the room fixed) you had to wait a LONG time to get people to respond. Service was awful. They do things on their own time. Tip: if you get a rental car, buy the insurance. My husband drove. Normally, he drives a Porsche. He's an excellent driver. He beat the crap out of that car. He put scratches on the front and back of it. We saw at least a dozen accidents. One of the people in our party got into an accident. All the cars there are all dented, scratched, and just beat to hell. We didn't get. He regrets it. read more

Loved my time wasting away again at Margaritaville. Great resort which I wouldn't hesitate to go back to! Rooms were large, virtually brand new and full of amenities. Absolutely loved the beach. There weren't many people on the beach, beautiful sands, great water and very relaxing. I loved swinging on the hammock but was so chilled out laying the chair on the beach, I actually took a good, long nap with the breeze in my hair. Restaurant was decent though nothing mind-blowing, but we had a good meal there. I had the Cheeseburger in Paradise because when in Rome! It made me feel super touristy when it came out with the Margaritaville branding burned into the bun - I loved it! I had one of the Rum Punches while at the restaurant, as well- good stuff. Loved the bar and fun DJ poolside. The bartender at the outdoor bar was just amazing. She was full of energy, so incredibly friendly engaging all guests and you could tell she genuinely wanted everyone there to have fun. Margaritaville is a timeshare and this is one of their more new resorts. Nice initial person talking to us but then they turned us over to a sales person and she wasn't very nice. First time here and had heard good things, other than pricy drinks. This place is terrible. Got the signature cheeseburger in paradise.....I didn't realize it was that easy to screw up. Tasteless meat, overcooked and half the size of the bun. The "lettuce" was wilted and literally slimy. Tomato (never good on the island) still had part of the stem in the cut. Drinks are beyond pricy, margarita for $11 and can barely taste tequila. Yuck. The only saving grace was our server Kristen who was amazing. We are staying at the Point Pleasant resort right beside Margaritaville, upon check in we had received a flyer for a free drink with purchase of an entree, and being total parrot heads we decided to go our first night. Our server was sweet but completely clueless, we ordered drinks (1 Marg, 2 wines , and a corona), and handed her our flyer. Sat there for 20 minutes before she brought the margarita out and then asked what the other drinks were again. Another 15 minutes and she informs my brother they were out of corona. So basically it got started off on a rocky foot. We got the nachos to share and a couple of burgers. Again food took forever to be served but a live band had started and we really enjoyed it. The food was OK, were the nachos worth $22? Probably not, but its a signature item and there was plenty to share. At the VERY end, a manager (?) Came to our table to inform is that our flyer has to be "verified" and signed prior to our meal by a person who gives a sales pitch, and therefore could not be honored. OK, so why did the flyer not Mention that nor our server when we gave it to her and ordered when we sat down. He then informed us that the guy who does the pitch wasnt there but we "could come back" I thought it was pretty tacky that they refused to honor it even though honestly they made the mistake. Had such an amazing time at Margaritaville! Figured we wouldn't spend much time in or on the property until we arrived and found ourselves wanting to just hang out on the resort. The grounds are beautiful with an amazing beach. The pool and hot tub were also very nice. There is a bar next to the pool which is convenient. The rooms were very nice and updated. Has a very beachy vibe. The kitchenette came in handy and we made use of the margarita maker that is in every room. The beds were super comfortable. The pillows were not the type I like but weren't horrible. I would suggest having different types of pillows. We ate at the restaurant twice. Dinner was below average.. which was disappointing. We had breakfast the last day and it was way better than the dinner. We also ordered room service the night we arrived as we were tired and my burger in paradise was not as it claims.. it was extremely dry and bland.. the chicken fingers were good though. Only negative was that one night we left the sliding door open for a little bit and mosquitos got in and ate me alive that night. I have huge bites all over my arms and legs... I would suggest they spray outside on the property especially since the Zika virus is going around. Other than that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back! read more

Well, it's always 5 o'clock somewhere according to Jimmy Buffet and it's always 5 o'clock at this charming resort aka Margaritaville that is perfectly situated near Water Bay in St. Thomas. This was once a Renaissance that was abandoned (info from the locals) and it was bought by Wyndham and completely renovated and it is awesome! As I write this review they are currently working on phase II and it's going to be bigger and better. There is always something to do, or you can just sit by the pool and relax. There are several TV's showing clips of parrot heads and music playing throughout the resort. They have a new system, well new to me, instead of a card to open your door, they give you a wristband that looks like a watch that can be used to open your door and make purchases. So you can leave your wallet/purse in your room or safe and not worry about jumping into the pool with your wallet. Every room has their own Margarita machine because we're in Margaritaville. read more

Monday November 7 th wish I can give a negative stars The resort is beautiful ...BUT the restaurant has a great atmosphere with a lot of potential but the food was awful the service was horrendous, are waitress nice but very over whelmed and under experienced and it wasn't even crowded. Last night at the island, we decided to try this new restaurant across from our resort. There were live music and perfect sunset. We were greeted by friendly staff and sat outside the enjoy the Caribbean mood. I ordered a chef's special crab cake and my hubby got the BOB burger. It was by far the most delicious meal during our trip. Crab cake was very fresh and the sauce complimented it spot on. Burger was yummy as well. We have been traveling to the Caribbean for over 30 years and have visited Margaritaville on several occasions. Last week we stayed their again. First the good; we received an early checkin with an "upgraded" room, the property is in good condition and very well kept, as was our room, transportation to/from the property was convenient, service was decent and we really enjoyed the Bird Show. Now, the not so good; cocktails and food were way over priced because the taste /quality is "cheap" (the fish tacos were mushy as if they were frozen and refrozen!), in order to get your required "wrist band" you have to talk with the Timeshare Guy who tries to get you to attend an "informative" hour and a half meeting, and now they have added a $25.00 NIGHTLY fee to your stay (that's almost another $200 for the week) which needs to be better disclosed BEFORE you checkin, pool/beach towels were in very limited supply most days, lastly, the beach continues to be a problem with the sea weed and the smell and quantity (it's so bad no one can use it and they shuttle you to/from Coky Beach every couple hours). By the way, we quit eating/drinking at the resort and walked over to Coky Beach for great food and drinks. Bottomline, It's a real shame that Margaritaville has turned into a place that pushes timeshare sales as opposed to a fun vacation experience for their guests. read more

This placed USED to be great... before they developed it way beyond the capabilities of their infrastructure. If you're in one of the "upgraded" rooms, like building 14, you're basically screwed. You have to walk up and down hundreds of steps every day just to reach civilization. The golf cart "shuttles" are few and far between, and boomers jump in front of you and steal your ride as soon as one arrives. This place caters to the boomer generation and overweight retirees who can't walk 20 feet and monopolize the golf carts for every small task. The upper pool has no food, contrary to the representations made MVC, unless you get in on a "food order" that the bartender makes every hour or so. Food takes an hour to be delivered to the pool and then is disbursed with confusion. It's like ordering lunch with a group during your day job. The hot tub was broken our entire stay. We got stuck in a first floor room, so we couldn't enjoy the outdoor space because of all the foot and motorized traffic right outside our door. This is presidential reserve? I think not. read more

Nope. We had to continually call to the lobby to ask for these items with more then a handful of times, they did not come. I would LOVE to see Jimmy Buffett stay here. The amount of disrespect that our group entailed is more then enough for ALL of us to say we will NEVER come here again. Dinner was a joke there's only the one restaurant on premise. But breakfast was the deal breaker-GARBAGE. You couldn't pay me enough to come back to this dump.Appalling customer service, cold breakfasts- disrespectful "managers", asking with a snarky attitude "where we are from" as if any of that matters. Cold food is cold food. Decided to try the coffee shop on the premise. Claimed it is open at 7:00AM - well more then a handful of us where quite literally banging on the door at 7:20 to let us in to get our drinks and breakfast. I get "island time" but don't stare me in the face and continue to text on your phone..rude. Once ordering, the drinks come out incorrectly. We circled back and waited on line again, to get them corrected- cashier claims "that IS what you ordered!" Instead of politely taking care of the matter, the woman snatched the drinks from us and throws regular cups and says to do it ourselves. Awesome... thanks so much Margaritaville. Let's not forget all of the lovely exposed wires on the "beach" (dirt pit) that they don't tell you about. Head the warning. Stay away. Nothing good came of this place. Went to the new St Thomas Margaritaville Restaurant last week with my wife and another couple. We did not stay at the resort but it looked nice.All four of us had a grouper sandwich to eat. The sandwich was terrible, l could not tell the difference in taste from the onion rings. They must not have cleaned oil in fryer. Service was okay at best, there was only two other tables eating so it was not busy. Have been to a few other Margaritavilles, this one is very quiet compared to what we expected. Margaritaville is the restaurant on property for the resort. We tried the jerk cheeseburger which was pretty good, it comes served on a guitar shaped piece of wood. My wife had the coconut shrimp, which she liked. The volcano nachos were also pretty good for $21.95 they are piled high on the plate. So far the service has not been great, it's almost like they know they have a captive audience, and don't really have to try. This for the restaurant only: Have been here several times and have to say it's gotten worse over time. Originally I gave them a "pass", because they were new and I thought they were "shaking out the kinks". By our fourth time I can't be as kind! The place was pretty empty (as with all times)...maybe 4 filled tables inside. We were seated and told that our waitress would be right over. After 20 minutes, I got up and had to ask the hostess if someone would come by (she had the nerve to ask if I had been seated and where, even after she had just seated us), and she said she'd find the waitress. Five minutes later a young waitress comes over and we order drinks. Meanwhile there's a table of 5-6 older women nearby that kept looking around for the waitress to pay their bill (took them 20 minutes to get someone over there). It took 20 minutes to get our drinks (1 wine, 1 rum punch, 1 bushwacker), and that wouldn't have happened if our friend didn't go to the bar and get them herself. Shortly thereafter we order three appetizers (bang-bang shrimp, chicken quesadilla, and onion rings). It took over 20 minutes to get the food, which we quickly gobbled up since were hungry. So it took us close to two hours to get 3 drinks and 3 appetizers! To add the icing on the cake, one in our group got horribly sick that night with what we suspect was food poisoning - either the chicken quesadilla or a bad shrimp. Jimmy really should revisit this restaurant and properly train his staff in attending to customers, cleanliness (I have pics of food all over the floor around the empty tables), and food sanitation. Until that happens I'd advise that you go some place else to eat and drink - or be prepared to waste a lot of time and steel your stomach! read more

Sounds like a good idea but you're gonna be bored. The rooms are time share so they're all consistent. They're maybe 400sqft at best. When you check in they make you go through a concierge pitch to try and get you to attend a 90 min time share sales pitch. Then and only then do you get reasonable rates for the day activities they advertise. The beach isn't anywhere near as great as others on the island. You're off remote without any options to walk to in terms of restaurants or activities. Taxis in USVI price gauge 2x what you'd normally pay to go anywhere in mainland USA that you have to be comfortable just commiting to your resort unless you rent a car. There are two restaurants but they both close at 845, their service is atrocious (I mean they couldnt care less about you) and their food is basically burgers and nachos for filet mignon prices. No room service or cleaning. Honestly I won't be back. I'll go stay at sapphire beach instead. read more

My husband & I stayed in Margaritaville for 10 days and we were disappointed that there is no cleaning service and u have to call for your towels they don't bring you fresh towels or sheets unless you call it in, it was our second night and we had come back from having a wonderful night in town we parked our car in the front thinking there was some type of valet service , didn't find anyone at the front so we walked up to the room, security went through our car searching for the keys, my husband had forgotten his phone in the vehicle the next morning our phone was missing . We spoke to several managers trying to retrieve our phone The first manager was Dwayne he showed no concern over the situation said he would get back with us never heard from him we spoke with another manager Rob and he to did nothing to find out what happened to our phone neither One of the managers could find out which security guards went through our vehicle We asked them to look on the cameras since the car was parked at the very front where there was a camera facing , but no one could help us we had to continue to call and ask to speak to managers they were very unprofessional we will never stay at Margaritaville . Decided to visit here today for lunch after stopping at Coral World. I've been to several Margaritaville's but it was our first time here at this one. Not sure that I'd visit again. The Food is great....don't get me wrong. But between the flies inside and the lack of service, I left extremely disappointed. Throwing in an automatic 20% tip for our party of six did not help, because the servers worked harder at their tables where they had to EARN their tip and neglected us. I really dislike that automatic tip requirement because usually you get the same experience everywhere. The servers work harder to earn their tips elsewhere knowing regardless of the service they provide at the larger table they will still get their 20%. Service was extremely slow even for Island time. 4 tables total as well. We sat at one of the round corner tables and were continuously harassed by several annoying flies. Other than that, the atmosphere is nice. Just be warned. Slow service. Don't be in any hurry. read more

My family and I have visited four other Margaritaville restaurants and this one was a real dissapointment. The service and food at this location were not very good and we had to flag down our waitress for refills even though they were not very busy. All the other locations have always been very lively and a lot of fun to be at. This location was very boring and will not provide any lasting memories. We were looking forward to going through their merchandise store and purchasing some souvenirs while in paradise, but there really was no store like their other locations. We left wishing we would have gone back too Iggies or Fish Tails for better food and service. If you do end up going, recommend that you sit inside so that you are not attacked by the bees. read more

This resort was clean, courteous, and has a amazing view of the ocean. I like the convenience of the whole resort. They had an activity every day for the afternoon, or just hang at the bar right by the pool. Love Natalie !!!! Oh and the nachos are a must!! We stayed at the new Margaritaville Resort in February, 2016 and absolutely loved it! We rented a unit from an owner through VRBO.com and were not disappointed. The unit was top-notch with every comfort of home and a Margaritaville Margarita maker to boot! The resort is sparkling new even though it is a renovation of a previous property. There is a lot more coming as they work on two new buildings up the hill and a "downtown area" full of shops. There are hammocks everywhere to relax in, a clean beach to enjoy, a beautiful pool and hot tub to relax in as well. The resort staff are awesome! They kept us involved in ping pong tournaments, movies in the pool, trivia games and a whole lot more. By the end of the week they felt like family and they really made the experience better by their attitudes and motivation. Just a short 5 minute walk and you are at Coki Beach, my favorite beach on the island by far. Coral World is also within a few minutes walk and is a great place to spend half a day. The resort also runs a shuttle service which goes into Red Hook and the ferry dock so a trip to St. John for the day is as easy as asking how. The restaurant is much smaller than the other ones I have been to and not as inspiring, that is true. The store section is very, very small but I was told that they plan to expand the size and offerings as the resort grows. If I could afford to buy a unit there I would. I was in heaven the whole vacation with tropical music piped everywhere outdoors and absolute quiet inside if I wanted it. Nice breezes from the beach and lots of palm trees made this a perfect get-away for our family. We are already planning a return trip and finding it difficult to locate a unit to rent since they are in such high demand. Highly recommend a trip here at least once! read more

We didn't stay here but we did eat/drink at the margaritaville restaurant couple of times. The staff went out of their way to make sure we had a good meal We got the chicken quesadillas( without the chicken the first time and with chicken the second time) and Taco salad. The food is pricey, but well worth it. The staff is top notch, first class group of people! read more

We LOVED the Margaritaville Restaurant... Excellent everything. Unfortunately our visit was totally marred by a sleazy margaritaville/Wyndham Resorts sales person. (time shares) He approached our table, seemed almost drunk in the early afternoon, and it took us awhile to realize what he wanted since he was very vague. We said no thank you and finally he left. Then he approached my daughter and son in law when they stepped outside for a minute. Again, very aggressive and they had to firmly say no thank you. Here's the DUMB on our part. He then approached our table AGAIN! It was my grandaughters 12th birthday and 7 of us were celebrating. He proceeded to tell us he wanted to pay for our lunch if we'd just hop on a luxury golf cart with him and tour the new resort next door. We said no several times but he was extremely persistent, just let me pay for your lunch I really want to, He said we could leave anytime if we weren't enjoying it. The children wanted to ride the golf carts and like idiots, we caved and agreed. As soon as we got inside they split us up into 3 groups, the resort tour was nice, then the hard sell on time shares started. We were assured that this would all take 90 minutes or less. 2 1/2 hours later we basically had to practically make a run for the door. As we left we were asked to complete a survey and then to our great surprise we were given lovely gift cards for the restaurant and gift shop. The resort was beautiful and we ALMOST left considering looking into it some more but then, as each segment of our group exited the building at separate times, this same salesman that had gotten us in there was waiting outside and demanded we give him our gift cards for paying for our lunch?? I was incredulous that they would allow and possibly encourage such a low class way of tricking people. It felt like being mugged in an alley and when we all met up at our vehicle he'd done it to all 3 groups. The honest approach would have been to tell us we could earn the price of our meal if all 7 of us were willing to sacrifice a few hours of our expensive vacation to earn it. Instead he made you think he did you a favor and polite people are then hesitant to be rude and just walk out early. We felt like idiots and I sincerely hope that Mr Buffet (who I like alot) and his restaurant don't suffer from guilt by association from the resorts practices. If you eat here, I highly recommend you ask management to remove any salesmen who approach you or you won't get to enjoy your meal. read more
