I've been coming to Margie's for 10 years now. They moved about 2-3 yrs ago from Riverview to Trenton. What an upgrade on size/space! It's much easier to maneuver through this location compared to their old store. They literally have it all! Candy molds, chocolate - in different colors, candy flavorings, different crunch flavorings to add to chocolate, packaging for candy, cake pans, character cake pans - you can even rent cake pans from them! They have seasonal holiday items for cakes/cupcakes (pumpkin picks for cupcakes, Easter bunny sugar pieces to make a bunny cake, etc). They have fondant, all kinds of sprinkles, cookie cutters, and tools/utensils for cake decorating (cake combs, spatulas, decorating bags, etc). Cake boards, cake boxes, pie boxes, cupcake containers, edible images, you can get your own edible image made ($10), and at the back counter they have all kinds of sugar decorations for cakes & cupcakes - pirates, dinosaurs, surfing, you name it! The front of the store is all kinds of wedding stuff. I've never actually browse through this part so I have no idea what they have, but I think they rent archways and sell guest books. They also have purses and shawls around a jewelry counter in the center of the store. The prices are pretty good compared to other places. Fondant is obviously cheaper at Michael's or Walmart - so I would skip that here. Cupcake liners are cheaper elsewhere also. It's hard to be cheaper than Michael's when they have 40% off coupons all the time. So get everything but fondant and cupcake liners at Margie's. You'll feel like you've found a gold mine when you first come here. read more

I only go there if I have to have something and can't wait to order it. I was once doing a wedding cake and asked the woman that was working there some questions. She didn't have a clue, I asked if Margie was there. She was in the back and came out, I asked her a couple of questions. I asked things about what size plate should I buy, what did I need to transport the cake. She was very cold and told me that she gets paid for answering these questions. I ended up spending over $200. I couldn't believe that she would talk to a customer like that. Then my daughter went there to order her wedding invitations. We were told that Margie wouldn't let anyone order them but her and we would have to come back when she was there. We did, when the order came back her future mother-in-law's name was spelled wrong and they had to be reordered. I don't find Margie as being personable and her employees always acted like they were afraid of her. She won't take charge cards, talk about primitive. She won't get a website to make it easy for her customers to plan ahead. The only reason she's stayed in business all these years is that there is nowhere else to go. read more

I had used Margie's for all of my cake, cookie, and candy making supplies for years. The staff is very helpful....just tell them what you need and they know right where it is. Now I live in Grand Junction, Colorado and we DO NOT have a store like Margie's here. We have a Hobby Lobby but they don't carry everything. You could rent cake pans at Margie's if you needed to which was very convenient. I miss Margie's. Come and open a store here in Grand Junction. read more

Unreliable. Yesterday I was able to get some of the things I needed that they had short supply of, but I arranged with TWO people to pick up an item this morning. They said yesterday right in front of me while they were on the phone with the owner that she would bring it in last night so I could pick up this morning. All seemed fine. I drove over an hour round trip yesterday and had to turn around and do the same thing this morning with a baby in tow. Instead, my husband left early for work just to stop there and pick up the item. The ball was dropped and the person this morning was clueless. The owner didn't do what they said they would, then said they would bring it in later. At this point we have been so inconvenienced that it wasn't worth giving this place our business. Only took 3 visits to lose my business for good. read more

Love this place and the employees!!! I've bought several birthday cakes from them and never had an issue until today. Today they made an error which could have been catastrophic. They wrote down the wrong date and our cake wasn't ready. So they made the impossible possible, corrected everything and made the cake to perfection! Superb customer service, amazing recovery in 3 hours and hand delivered the cake to my house!!! I have been a loyal customer and will continue to be a loyal customer.
