Yummy Yum Yum - omg i've been to other bulk stores; not sure if they are ran by the same company and/or person but this location is super helpful. Walked in and quickly greeted - i had about three people ask if i need anything; literally were chatting with other customers and making everyone being seen. I was coming in for a specific item which i found and then of course i had to browse a little. I think someone was doing inventory or just general work and i ask him about the taste of item; he said "take a sample" and you should've seen my face because other stores dont want you to try again unfortunately. This was a big selling point for me - i'm not going to go crazy but this allow customers to be able to explore a little more. Pricing is pretty much the same - customer service is WINNING here. So much to choose from. Went in for freeze dried candy which they had but the also had sooo much more. Was able to buy as much or as little as I wanted. Even had baking supplies, coffees, teas and old time candies. I love this place. I would say if you are looking for any kind of candy this is the place to go. People were very nice and helpful. My parents used to take us here as a kid, and it's still as great as I remember it. The owner is always so nice, and the guy working the register was kind and cracked a few jokes with me. The Bulk Store on Northline Road in Taylor, Michigan is a great place to get candy, fresh nuts, baking ingredients and all sort of speciality items. Their merchandise is fresh and delicious. Their displays are kept clean and attractive. There is plenty of parking right outside and the lot is kept clear in all weather. The staff here are attentive and interested. I had a lot of help from one clerk after I realized what a wonderful seed and grain selection they have! Their barley, oats, nuts and candies are a delight just to look at. Their prices are reasonable and I can't say enough about their wide variety of items. If you are looking to make that very special cake or pie all on your own this is the place for you. I recently placed an order. I was pleased to find this candy that its very difficult to locate. It is pricey but the candy is worth it. At first, everything went well. I received a phone call asking about whether shipping should be delayed, as we are all having a heat-wave. It was a little unclear to me when it was arriving, but I figured that was my confusion that day. I thought it was nice that they called; they stated a thermal wrapping would be on it. The candy box arrived.....ripped open almost completely. I contacted the shop, sent them photos of the box on my porch & was told "Oh, that's from the sorting machine at the post office." I wasn't sure if that was the case at all, but I said "Okay. What happens now?" They said they could make a complaint with the post office. I agreed....but then they said "Oh its fine, as long as the thermal wrapping is intact." I explained I did not feel comfortable eating candy where the box was wildly torn open. The same comment was repeated, that as long as the wrapping was intact...that was that. No offer for me to ship it back, as I would have...I was not trying to get 'free candy'. I just wanted to have a product I felt safe eating & a satisfactory order. But I guess not. The conversation ended with a slightly amused voice telling me "We hope you'll order from us again." No thank you. I found the candy elsewhere & the order was satisfactory. Its a shame, I like to support small businesses. read more

What a great store! The bulk food store always brings back childhood memories, and this location doesn't disappoint. I stopped in here today with my son, boy oh boy hence the term "like a kid in a candy store" trust me he likes this place. I had no real reason to stop in today but I did get a few things. The prices are good and selection amazing. This location is clean and the staff helpful and friendly. I saw a bunch of old school Christmas candies that really took me down memory lane. My son and I enjoyed our visit, especially him! A great place and fun little store, not many around. Definitely worth a visit read more

Will never deal with The Bulk Store again. They sold me bad chocolate. Typically the Merckens chocolate has a year shelf life. I purchased it in May and tried to use it in October. The chocolate was bad. It wouldn't even melt. When I contacted the owner/manager he told me that it was due to moisture. Which I am very reluctant To believe, because the chocolate remained in the container it was sent in and stored in a cool dry place. Therefore, the only reason behind it being bad is that it shelflife expired, or the chocolate was about to expired when they shipped it to me. On top of it all there was no expiration date in the box or bags, packing list or invoice. read more

When we moved to Taylor I noticed the Bulk Store right away. Wow are we impressed. Staff is great. Selection is wonderful and everything is delicious. Prices are very reasonable. It's almost a little dangerous to live so close. . When friends from out of town come to visit we have to make a stop here (they insist and I'm always ready to go). For those trying to cut back on sweets it's so nice to get just a taste of whatever you're craving. There's always something new to try and I'm looking forward to continued shopping trips. read more

This little hidden gem is awesome! Its truly a kid in a candy store experience for both kids and adults. They have novelties that all ages of adults miss from their days. The store is primarily about bulk candy but this is bulk candy you pick out how little or how much is up to you. They also have nuts, dried fruits, cookies, sprinkles, flours etc. They also have a section of items that are PERFECT for kids goody bags you can pick out stickers, little knickknacks, pencils etc. I have never had a bad experience. Today I went into this store and as I was checking out the cashier who was very polite and professional assisted me. She's seen me several times before as I am the Metro store manager RIGHT next door. I asked her if I still received my plans discount and before she could answer the female owner yelled out from the out completely cutting off the cashier saying "Do you work in the plaza?" I said "Yes, I work right next store at Metro, I'm the manager. I unzipped my sweater to prove I worked in the plaza and the owner rudely responded "Well, how would I know if you did?" I said "You asked and I was showing you and I told you. I've been here several times before." She kept going on about how she was supposed to know as she walked to the back. I was completely disgusted in her conduct with her customers as the owner. The cashier was so sweet and polite and educated me on their policies for the future in a professional manner. The male owner is polite and welcoming, but I wouldn't go back nor would I recommend this place while the female owner is working. She put a very bad taste in my mouth and I will be sharing this experience as I have a decent influence in the community as a Pastor. read more

Old-school candies like now-and-laters and butterscotch as well as gourmet selections like caramel cashew chocolate clusters. They have a cute little section of assorted little toys like paper fans, stickers, colorful pencils, etc. They do not take bridge cards.
