They only bake gluten free in the building so they are very careful to not contaminate the process. The original pretzels are stored in a separate case than the gluten free products. I don't have food allergies, but I respect companies that are very careful to isolate the two baking processes. The manager in the Oaklyn store was very friendly and was proud to explain the baking process for me. In addition, explained how to freeze and reheat the pretzels. The store is very nice, but I wished I lived closer. These pretzels taste exactly like I remember as a kid. Thanks for the memories!

Approach the steel door in the back, ring the bell, and they'll let you in. The men working there have been doing it for decades, on machinery that has probably been used for nearly a century. They were friendly and happy to chat. When I told them I was looking for pretzels like I remember from my youth, we figured out that this is the bakery that delivered pretzels to my elementary school. Like milk money, we could pay weekly to have a soft pretzel delivered each day at lunch. Pretzels are just 3 for a dollar! They had braids and pretzels with something like an "everything" topping. They were good, though different from other local pretzel makers. Pretzels are chewy, not as crusty as other brands, and clearly hand-twisted. They also have a malty, yeasty flavor that is unique. I really like them, and not just for the nostalgic reasons. NOTE: This is NOT the gluten-free bakery! They have a separate facility in Oaklyn that makes the gluten-free items. Great news for those with celiac disease. The shop at Oaklyn sells regular stuff as well.

You can tell they focus on quality and consistency instead of trends, and that is what makes this place special. The drive down was easy, not too much traffic which was good. In the distance we could see the building and me and my mom both got excited. We are freaks for cakes and sweets and we were already talking about what other goodies we plan to buy when we get there. As soon as we stepped foot in the Bakery- we were hit with the sweet scents of cakes, pies, cookies, donuts, butter cakes and other goodies. Man oh man what a wonderful smell. It was packed with patrons buying their sweets for the day/weekend. We only waited a few minutes before we were helped and greeted by a sweet smile. The workers there do an awesome job with getting the lines down and still have a smile on their face as the place gets busier and busier. (I love that about Stocks- service is always great). We picked up our cake and ended up getting a few donuts cause I never had them from there before, we got a couple danish's, and a butter cake plus a half a pound of cookies including both butter and sugar with sprinkles and cherries, jelly and chocolate with walnut and molasses crunch which were like ginger snaps/spiced wafers. We ended up spending a pretty good amount of money but it was really worth it. If you are ever in this area- you must stop in and grab some goodies to take home. It will not disappoint. This bakery has been consistent with the taste for years and years and I honestly been coming for over 30 years and still love it. It's an old time charm that I hope stays around forever. If the neighborhood continues to change I hope the one thing that stays the same is Stocks bakery. 5 stars across the board for Stocks.

I decided to enter because I liked the flavors of the day. Once inside, It was bright and clean. The owner was super nice and friendly. She has been in business for over 10 years and at this location a few months. The flavors of the day were as follows: Apple pie, fruity pebbles, lemon drop, iced oatmeal, chocolate chip, banana pudding, peach cobbler, cookie and cream, & chocolate cookie & cream. I know you want to know which ones I chose, so I'm going to give you my selections from Best to Worst (in my opinion, of course) I must let you all know that the cookies were soft and moist. I bought the cookies at 4pm and didn't eat them until 11pm and they were still soft and chewy (judgement free zone here folks) 1. Fruity Pebbles- very good. My top choice. Fruity pebbles and the icing tasted well together with the cookie and with my milkshake. 2. Lemon drop- lemon flavor was subtle. 3. Chocolate chip- just ok 4. Chocolate Cookie & Cream- too much chocolate for me Make sure you support this young woman. She ships nation wide and she also has cookie classes. This is a win-win for the community.
