We were able to easily get street parking right outside the restaurant. Note has a cozy casual feel to it, like a typical neighborhood bar and restaurant. It has a variety of table options and a nice outdoor patio facing the town center. Our waiter was very welcoming and service was great. We started with drinks- my drink was called the Spring Fever. It was wonderful, and quite a tasty spring drink. Made with limoncello, a vanilla liquor, club soda and perhaps a few more ingredients but they all worked for a balanced cocktail- the mint a perfect fresh touch! We got the appetizer of the sweet potato empanadas which was easily large enough to be a whole entree. My husband is a huge empanada fan and loved this vegetarian version. I got the pork and pear sandwich with a side Caesar. Such great flavors in the sandwich between the pork, pear, arugula, onions and aioli-really well done! The Caesar salad was also really good! I love when places give the option for fries or salads with sandwiches. Husband got the pork tostadas and enjoyed these as well. It was a great lunch just a lot of food so we had to take some home, bonus! We will definitely be back to sample more of the menu and possibly do takeout too. So happy we finally got to try Note!

We decided to drive to Danbury for dinner after reviewing the Portuguese Cultural Center's menu online. We arrived shortly after 7 pm and were the only ones there. A few more people arrived later on. The place is very big and has no ambiance or charm whatsoever. It lacked the warm hospitality and welcoming staff we've always found at other Portuguese restaurants we've visited over the years. The food was good. As soon as we sat down, we were given a bowl of marinated olives - they were delicious- and Portuguese bread. I ordered "Bife a Portuguesa". My husband ordered some kind of cod fish. We both liked the food. The flan I ordered for dessert was acceptable but the caramel sauce was unusually watery and it had an overwhelming cinnamon flavor. The service was adequate. The place was very clean and spacious. We will go back, not because we loved it but because we like Portuguese cuisine.

On top of all this, the rest of our family and friends eat meat and my in-laws are all rather wary of vegetarian food. We wanted to have an all vegetarian wedding, but we wanted to avoid meat-substitutes. Claire and Pat met with us and helped us come up with a menu that everyone would be happy with. Throughout the whole process, Claire was so helpful, not just with the menu and food, but by offering advice and suggestions for other aspects as well. On the actual day of the wedding, they arrived at our venue on time and were already setting up according to the instructions I had given them. Everything ran so smoothly that day, and it is all thanks to Walsh Catering. They made sure that the appetizers, meal, and dessert were all served at the perfect time, ensuring that the guests were entertained and the wedding events proceeded on time. On top of all this, the food was wonderful! Throughout the entire wedding, people were coming up to all of us and telling us how much they loved the food. I would wholeheartedly recommend them for catering jobs for any event!

We ordered a charcuterie board, salmon, and short rib for our dinner. They were good but could be better. The pâté de campagne on the charcuterie board was just meh. The truffle honey glaze is a good touch to the salmon dish but still feels overpowering the fish. I love the chef using different textures to tie all the ingredients together. As for the short rib, the fried truffle parm polenta is an interesting choice, but I am wondering if the potato pavé will do a better job.

I tried a sample of the passionfruit and it was so sour and sweet as passionfruit is and was sold. I had a small cup of passionfruit but there are also medium and large cups. It was so creamy and refreshing and just what I was looking for. I will definitely be back to try all of the other flavors when I am in the area!
