I am shocked that there are no reviews on Yelp for Dr. Macsai but am more than happy to be the first. Only 8 hours ago I had LASIK surgery done on both eyes. At my pre-op appointment, Dr. Macsai was more than willing to answer any questions and concerns I had with the procedure. After reading all of the paperwork prior to speaking with her which explained many of the possible risks, I was so incredibly nervous I didn't ask any related questions for fear that I would change my mind completely! I of course did ask how soon I could resume working out at the gym, running and having my eyelashes tinted. The day of my procedure I thought of two additional questions I wanted to ask Dr. Macsai and she was more than willing and patient to answer them. Originally at my consultation (with another doctor) he had recommended monovision. So when completing the form as to what I wanted to have done surgically that is what I marked. I am so glad that I asked Dr. Macsai about this because she took me into another room prior to my surgery to check to see if that would be the best option. As it turns out it wasn't! At no time did I feel silly, rushed or preoccupied due to Dr. Macsai's calm demeanor. Dr. Macsai also takes the time to remeasure and examine you just to double-check what the technicians have done which is again, most reassuring. After being a contact lens wearer for 25 years - and even the occasional glasses - I just wish I would have had the procedure long ago. I am thrilled with the results and even more thrilled that I had such a fine, respectable and pleasant (kind and warm also come to mind) surgeon. I was reassured from the minute I walked into the office not only by Dr. Macsai but also much of the office staff. I highly recommend Dr. Macsai for anyone considering LASIK surgery. After performing two cataract surgeries a month apart on my husband, within a year and a half he needed retinal detachment surgery on both eyes. When he started having vision issues, the office did not schedule an appointment- but told him to wait for his regularly scheduled appointment in three weeks. By the time the doctor looked at his eye, she referred him for emergency retinal detachment surgery. A few months later, the other eye also needed retinal detachment surgery. I too was shocked that Dr. Macsai didn't have more reviews. I got LASIK at the beginning of 2013 and Dr. Macsai and her team (Nicole and Qwin especially) were outstanding. They talked me through the whole procedure -- day of, and before. I felt under the weather the day I had my "pre-op," about two weeks prior to the procedure and asked if I could do the tests again, a second time. No problem! For comparison, I "interviewed" another place in the loop and felt much more comfortable with Dr. Macsai. I was absolutely stunned with the results. The procedure took 7-10 minutes max and when I sat up I could already somewhat see. I walked to another room (you should know that prior to LASIK I could barely see past where I would hold a book to read) and could make my way without problem. 2.5 hours later my son woke me up and we watched our favorite Netflix shows that night. And I could see! From across the room. It only got better the next day -- I had 20/15 (better than 20/20) the next morning. And the halos I had that first weekend are now gone. I had the advertised dry eyes the weekend after surgery, but that was very similar to the feeling I've had nightly for 15 years when my contacts start to dry out. I just had my 2-3 week appointment and she said my eyes look great. We went to Florida this weekend and I had no issues swimming in the pool and could have opened my eyes if I wanted to. Several people in my office have asked for Dr. Macsai's contact information and are planning LASIK for themselves. I could not have been happier with my experience. I saw her at every appointment, she answered all my questions, and her team, as I mentioned earlier, were also all fantastic. Big thank you to Nicole for the extra patience and attention to this nervous nelly. Lastly, regarding the procedure -- it was painless. I was very nervous going into it, but as Dr. Macsai pointed out, their equipment was the newest on the market. And, as the person who trains other doctors on how to use the equipment, I felt in good hands. They numbed me with drops and talked me through every step of that short 7-10 minutes procedure. Dr. Macsai called me at 7pm the night after surgery -- we were in the middle of watching TV -- just to check in on me. The little things, the extra touches -- they go a long way. And she and her office were an absolute pleasure to meet. I am so so so thankful for my perfect, new, clear vision. Everyone who I asked said LASIK would be life-changing. I chalked that up to just the thing you say after something like this. However, I must echo that 100%. Absolutely life-changing. Better eyesight, no "junk" on the sink, all the ways you can think that it will be better... they're all true. Alright, I should stop.
