When we first saw the Coffee Shop, it reminded of us the Starbucks you would find within a Barnes and Noble. Definitely not... The signage said that most of the holiday drinks were sold out. Someone from the bookstore walked over to take our order. We told them we wanted a cappuccino. It should've been a red flag when they tried to talk us out of ordering the beverage. They asked if we were certain we wanted a cappuccino because it was simply a small amount of coffee with a lot of foam. To clarify, a cappuccino is an Italian coffee drink made with equal parts espresso, steamed milk, and milk foam, creating a creamy, balanced, and frothy texture. I did not question what they said and simply ordered the beverage. When I brought it back to my family, they took one sip and immediately poured it out. They said it tasted like strong coffee in the bottom and nothing but foam in the rest of the cup. So.... Do not order waste your money on coffee from Joe Muggs.

It is a historical building with lots of twists and turns and things to look at in every direction. Including a few sleepy cats. The mix of books was eclectic and I loved the recommended shelf with a hand written synopsis by the staff. Everything was so personal and purposeful. They were doing good business while I was there but the service was everything you want at an independent bookstore.

Live music was playing, the atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and there's even a charming bistro inside! The staff was super friendly, and the shop is full of unique books and gift ideas that make it hard to leave empty-handed. We ended up staying for lunch -- my husband had the chicken salad sandwich, and I got the turkey and cheese -- both were delicious. Such a relaxing and unexpected find. Can't wait to come back!
