As a breastfeeding mom, I had a serious clogged duct, which didn't go away after 30 hours. I had had clogged duct before, but I was always able to get it resolved by massage, using heat pad and having my baby suck it out. But this time it was worse than ever, and I started to search online for possible remedies. Ultrasound as a technique came up. Internet article says that you can use ultrasound toothbrush(the flat side of it) to massage, and some physical therapist have ultrasound equipment to do that. It totally makes sense to me, so I then googled to see which clinic can do ultrasound + clogged duct, voila, I came upon Marianne Ryan. I called in at 1PM, and made an appointment at 3PM. I got to her clinic at 2:30PM and the session started soon. She definitely has the skills to treat clogged duct, she used a heating ultrasound device to help soften the "lumps", but what really did the work was her massaging, it wasn't painful at all. She was able to open up the clogged opening of my breast, so it was a relieve. However, the swelling glands at the far end were still there, so it wasn't a total fix, but I could understand as it had accumulated the milk for 30 hours. Marianne gave me some tips for self massaging the breast, and also referred me to a breast expert at Breastlink clinic, who could do ultrasound to see what was going on with my duct, to see if there was any infection. She then also followed up with me after my doctor visit there, which was very kind and thoughtful. The great thing about Marianne is that she will teach you how to treat clogged duct at home by yourself. I suffered from Femoral Nerve damage from the birth of my son in March. I left the hospital with a walker and my newborn son. I did weeks of in home physical therapy and then outpatient therapy. Two months of therapy helped me get the strength back in my left leg but none of the therapist were familiar with my condition nor did they help fix the root of the problem. I was left feeling like I would never return to the person I was before I had my baby. Everyone I told my story to was shocked and horrified by what happened to me and the lack of information or help I received. Marianne accomplished what others have tried. I have spent the last 20+ years sitting at a desk and am now paying the price. I have stenosis in my neck - which effects the nerves in my arm and hands, issues with my sciatica and TMJ. Yes - I'm a mess! I have been to some of the top chiropractors, physical therapist and acupuncturists. All have helped on the margin but have not fully resolved the issue. Marianne approaches the body and it's ailments holistically. The neck issues are connected to the hip which is connected to my posture etc. She was able to identify and solve my 10+ year problem within a few visits. Being a new mom it was hard for me to leave my new born and go get PT, although I knew that after the pelvic floor problems that I have been having, I really needed it. My urogynaecologist recommended this office to me. I was so anxious about the entire process, but they made me feel so comfortable. I am currently pregnant with my 2nd child. My first one was a normal delivery but I can't believe how hard it was for me and it took its toll on me body to such a extent that I had no energy to take care of myself or my first born for a long time. I found Marianne through yelp and I thank my lucky stars that I did. She helped me get rid of my pelvic pain in just a few sessions. My insurance was not covering my visits so I was a little skeptical if I should go for it or not, but deciding to go get treated by her was the best thing that I could have done for myself. They have private treatment rooms and they are so much better than the place my doctor initially referred me to.. I've been going to Marianne roughly once per week for about a month to work on chronic neck and shoulder pain (and other miscellaneous injuries). She resets my muscles during the visit and equips me with exercises for home, all of which have really helped.
