A really good receptionist knows how to make a customer always want to come back. Here was my experience tonight. I am horrified. I called yesterday . I gave the salon more than 24 hours notice just as I was told to do. I spoke to a lovely receptionist. I explained to her that heavy storms were coming in with many warnings. I did not want to drive in this weather. They were predicting tornados, hail and heavy winds. She was absolutely lovely to talk to and understood. I also explained to her that I did not want to get a fee for rescheduling. She said she understood and would take care of it.She also told me to call in the morning and to let them know once I saw what the weather was like. I followed her advice and immediately called in the morning and rescheduled my appointment. No problem. At 6:30 tonight Gail called. (the other receptionist) as obnoxious as can be and told me that I did not follow the rules . She was going to place a fee on me.ii believe it was $25. She kept saying we talked about this and would not stop. I thought she was a broken record. Again ,I followed the rules. I did nothing wrong. I will tell you the right does not know what the left is doing . There is no communication between receptionists. This was a power trip with her and under no circumstances she was going to win. She was determined. That was obvious. Salons are customer service oriented. You have to be this way if you are going to keep customers. This is the way salons have been . They want the customer to be relaxed by their services. I don't know if Gail got off the wrong side of the bed or something was going on in her life. She sure took it out on me. I am not going to tolerate this behavior. Nobody should. I wonder if the owners know how she is treating customers. She cancelled my appointment because she said I did not follow the rules. At this point, I hung up on her. Nobody should ever be treated this way under any circumstances. It was horrifying to say the least. If you want to be abused by a receptionist then I recommend going here. I am just flabbergasted by the way I was treated. I am in this salon every month. I am not a walk in.

Unfortunately, I've had trouble finding a good stylist for blowouts. I went to Kate for many years, but once showed up for family pictures with my daughter. She took a look at my daughter's curls and said she had no time in her busy schedule (at the very time of our appointment), which I thought was really wrong to do an hour before photos. My daughter rocked her beautiful curls for photos, but it left a bad taste in my mouth so 2 years ago I moved on to Ji for my own blowouts. During my most recent hair appt I was running a few minutes late and they expedited my glaze so that I wouldn't be too late for Ji. I went downstairs to find her and she was busy with a client so I sat there for 10 minutes waiting for her. Once she finished her client she rudely turned to me and she was out of time and would have to see me another time. After I complained they found me someone else, but the stylists really need to learn to stick to their schedules and work with the front desk if they need more time. I may continue to go here because I like Marissa, but if so it looks like I'm on the hunt once again for another stylist after color. I would love to walk down the streets to BloOuts, but difficult to time it right and walking in winter with wet hair isn't so fun.
