I loved this place until about a year ago. Staff was friendly and prices were great. The unit I got went up nearly 50 dollars in less than 12 months. Nothing improved, and customer service got way worse. They were rude, never answered their phone and when I brought up the 10 dollar increase the 3rd time, I was told I was "lucky it's still so cheap". That was the one time I've ever gotten a response from them. When I called to make sure my cancellation went through, the man was so rude and hung up so abruptly now that I'm no longer a customer, I assume. With the weather, so much of my stuff was ruined and the unit was infested with spiders. The dust and dirt was equally bad. read more

I've never needed a storage unit before, but this process was quick and simple. I reserved my unit a couple weeks before needing it as I just relocated to Maricopa from Tampa, Florida. I have a second floor storage unit in a 5x10. Honestly it's much better and bigger than I thought it was. They have carts/flatbeds near the front of the doors for the indoor climate controlled storage to help you load your belongings into the building. They hold quite a bit and move easily. Take your time going around the corner with big loads or else you could lose some stuff or run into a person that may be coming. It's nice and quiet in the storage facility. The storage facility provides you a lock and shows you exactly how to use it. The husband and wife I worked with were very patient with both myself and another customer who was in before me. They do offer 2500$ worth of property coverage for an additional $10 at the time of this review. They have both autopay or on demand pay (where you call in to pay). They do check monthly to verify if your lock is still on the door before billing you. They do request a notice of writing for when you leave before next month billing, I think it's 10 days. However you can email them to communicate when your rental is ending. They do not give out the gate code to anyone unless they're on the list for your unit and they will ID you. They're hours of operation is 6AM to 9PM. After 9 pm you will be locked in and will have to call law enforcement to let you out in which you will be billed at least $25 for. If the property has to cut your lock it is a $25 fee and you have to do it according to the office managements schedule. This location does also rent out uhaul trucks. They do not accept uhaul trailers. read more

terrible storage facility. i have used them for for multiple units for almost 10 years. they used to be good. in the last 3 years they have nearly doubled my rate with constant rent increases. the units are dirty and dusty inside, ruining my stuff, (from the doors not sealing) there are spiders, mice, and bugs in units. i have had rain damage in the past as well. customer service is bit or miss at best, sometimes you will get someone who has no idea what they are doing but is nice, other times they have no idea what they are doing and they are rude. they couldnt even explain the breakdown of my charges today when i moved out today. Well, I signed up for a unit so I could have a place to store my things while waiting to move into my apartment. Upon move in I requested a 5X10 air conditioned unit. When I brought my UHaul with my stuff, I couldn't find the unit, which I later found out that those units were behind the office. I ended up putting my stuff in an open unit, one that was much bigger and much more expensive. There was no emergency line to call or anything. After everything was unloaded, because the property closed while we were there, I couldn't get out of the property, and as I mentioned, no emergency number. If you call their number after hours, you just leave a message. The owners live on the property, so eventually the wife came out and opened the gate so we could leave. But that was after some yelling and banging on the windows. So fast forward to move out time. I distinctly remember the wife telling that I needed to give 10 day move out notice. So I call and they say that I am still responsible for the entire month because I didn't call 10 days before the due date. Now, I'm stuck with a $168 bill for the unit, a size that I didn't want in the first place! read more

I am so impressed with this establishment. Last weekend I was in need of a storage unit I stumbled upon Maricopa Self Storage on John Wayne. I had the best experience there. Management and staff were extremely pleasant, helpful and professional. They gave the best rate do not go off their internet rate it's best to go in person their price is unbeatable. They even came out to give us cold bottles of water during our move in the hot sun. They also keep the place very clean. I highly recommend them you won't be sorry. read more

Beware of mice! Had my things in this storage for about 3 years always paid on time. My husband and I decided to empty out our storage the night before payment was due, however we already had paid early. I called on the day our payment was due to ask for some kind of a refund ANYTHING, and was told I could get nothing back! I really don't think that's fair so rent at your own risk. read more

I am so disappointed ! Friendly staff but I was TOLD I was renting a new uHaul (which had 103,000 miles on it) and half way home my tire fell off ! So I pulled over on a main highway in 110 degree weather and called in the emergency at 3:38 pm well the tow truck driver didn't arrive until.....almost 6:00 pm!!!! He notified me he didn't even receive my dispatch call until 4:30?!?! So I sat there in the heat with zero water that long because they failed to notify the driver of my emergency! They better be glad I didn't have any issues from the heat ! I am so angry! Then instead of apologizing or refunding us for our troubles they said "too bad!" Don't use this company! read more

Absolute worst customer service. The female is rude, obnoxious and down right mean. They are deceitful and devious. I paid for my unit but moved my things out leaving my unit temporarily empty. I had paid through the end of the month. It was legally still rented to me yet when I returned to place some other items in my unit, they had rented it to someone else. I paid for the month and still had more than 2 weeks until it was due again. They wouldn't even refund my money. I was told that they "thought" I had moved out. Not even a phone call to confirm either way. I will be filing a law suit! Very shady people! Not nice at all and should not be managing a business. Then, they "highly recommended" a moving service, "Maricopa Movers". Beware!! They claim to have over 10 years experience. No way!!!! Our moving truck was packed so terrible, we had to redo half of it and when we arrived at our destination, several items were destroyed beyond repair costing us a couple thousand dollars. They had one of our flat panel TV's laying flat with heavy boxes stacked on top if it!! That TV ended up in the trash. Do not hire these pathetic, unprofessional, inexperienced movers!! read more
