Instead, you tell them what you want, and they return with your order in a plastic bag. Previously, you could watch your container being fixed right in front of you, and you could even ask for extra gravy if you wanted it. When I got home, I found that my food was dry. It was still good, but the lack of moisture affected the experience. For many people, seeing the food is an essential part of the enjoyment, and sometimes I base my choices on how appetizing the dishes look. I hope they revert to the old setup. Until then, I'll be going to OGA's instead. Their food is good, and you can actually see it being prepared. Plus, they make delicious callaloo!

I've had the hardest time finding consistently good Caribbean takeout food in NJ, so one day I…read moredecided to go with something familiar, Golden Krust, and I'm so glad I did. Back in NYC, Golden Krust is usually the go to spot for patties, but this location has completely changed my perspective because the full menu is worth exploring. Every time I've ordered, the food has been fresh, flavorful and consistently good. Whether it's the curry dishes, jerk chicken, oxtail, soups, porridge, or their variety of patties, from beef to vegetable, everything has been satisfying. They also stock Caribbean favorites in the fridge, like carrot juice, which is the perfect addition to the meal. One thing that genuinely surprised me was the customer service. I wasn't expecting much the first time I walked in, but every visit has been pleasant. The staff is friendly, my orders are accurate, and the service is consistently good. And, if you know Caribbean take out restaurants, you know the joke: most times the best food comes with the roughest customer service. Thankfully, that's not the case here. The warm service actually matches the quality of food, and that's one of the reasons I keep coming back. To top it off, parking is available, and there's even a drive thru, which makes grabbing a quick meal even more convenient. If you've been searching for solid Caribbean takeout, this location is definitely worth a visit.

I wish I could give this place ZERO stars! This is by far the worst Golden Krust location I've ever…read morebeen to. The customer service is absolutely terrible. Unfortunately, the majority of the women I've encountered at this location have very unpleasant attitudes. I literally just left after trying to order a patty and pay using Apple Pay. The woman at the window was extremely rude, impatient, and unprofessional. I politely explained that I needed to tap my phone on the payment terminal for Apple Pay to go through. Instead of simply assisting me, she kept trying to tell me how to use my own Apple Pay. She then became irritated, slammed the window in my face, and told me I needed to come inside to make the payment. At that point, I shared a few words with her and drove off. There was absolutely no reason for that level of attitude over something as simple as making a payment. If you come to work dealing with customers, basic professionalism and respect should be expected. The line at this location is rarely even long, so there's really no excuse for treating customers this way. If an employee cannot communicate respectfully with customers, perhaps she should be working behind the scenes instead of at the window. I literally just left this location, and after this experience, I will NOT be returning. Management seriously needs to address the customer service and professionalism at this location.

Stopped by this roti spot after seeing that they advertised doubles and salt and bake -- I went in…read morespecifically excited to try the salt and bake. Unfortunately, they were out when I arrived, which was a bit of a letdown since that was the main reason for my visit. That said, I pivoted and ordered a double instead, and it turned out to be a solid choice. The double was flavorful, especially with the added peppers, and everything tasted fresh and well-seasoned. At just $3, it's hard to argue with the value -- a very fair price for a quick, satisfying bite. Overall, the food itself was good and definitely scratched the Caribbean street-food itch. The ambiance was standard and clean. My only real disappointment was the lack of salt and bake, since it's something I was genuinely looking forward to trying. Still, if you're in the area and craving an affordable, tasty double, this spot delivers. I'll likely give it another shot in hopes of catching the full menu next time.

My mindset was in the spirit of supporting Black Owned Businesses, I should give it a try and promote it because this pandemic has really affected some many businesses. So I got a my favorite curry chicken roti and beef patties, I missed out on getting the jerk chicken patty because it had just sold out. I was very impressed with how the beef patties looked, they were nice and fluffy with beef filling up the inside. It wasn't too flaky and in my opinion they were just perfect! The curry chicken roti was definitely a winner! Inside a roti, you will find well seasoned curry chicken mixed with potatoes and I just loved the flavor! I'm getting hungry just thinking about it and I wish I could turn back the hands of time and eat it all over again lol. They have very affordable prices and you get good quality food so you won't be disappointed that's for sure.
