I love jamaican food so it's nice that I don't have to travel all the way back to Brooklyn just to get some. The platters are pretty hefty and I always end up having leftovers. The oxtail is tender, the curry chicken is flavorful, and the mac and cheese is pretty good too. There's only street parking, but I don't mind it because i'm typically in and out unless there's a line. If you're looking to get a beef patty or another specific food, I recommend to call ahead of time and check if they've run out or not. Ordered take out here for the first time. Portions are enormous- this fed two of us for a handful of days. We ordered the oxtail and the curry chicken. The curry chicken was a 10/10, super flavorful, well cooked, absolutely perfect. Oxtail was yummy, large portion, although it was on the sweeter side for my liking. Food is really good, only negative is cabbage is hit or miss. It's not consistent, it can be overcooked, soggy, oily and taste old - not fresh. You have to ask for extra gravy on your rice for the oxtail or it will be dry. Prices went up and portions appear smaller read more

Standouts are their Curry Goat, Brown Stewed Chicken, Jerk Chicken and of course they have fantastic Oxtails. The cowfoot soup will speak to your soul in all the ways that count!! In addition, the also serve a variety of ginormous and freshly made patties that you can tell are not your average mass produced kind! Some of the best I've ever had!! This place is one of the only Jamaican food places in the area. The manager, I believe it is, is really nice everytime I come in. The food is pretty good and it is pretty affordable. There is only street parking and I usually find something in front. The place is always clean and put together. I ordered the stew chicken for a friend of mine. The food is made early and they put it in steel, individual serving pots so they can grab and go. The two issues I have are they are terrible with answering the phone and the line is always long with only 1 or 2 people behind the counter. read more

I love my Jamaican food and really wanted to give this place 5 stars BUT there were some things I did not love. I called to order my food ( twice ) and no one picked up. How are you operating a business but not picking up the phone when it rings ? So we decided to drive to the store. The area is a little difficult when it comes to parking but you might get lucky with great parking depending on the time of day. We ordered the Jerk chicken meal and oxtail meal. It seemed like only 2 people were managing the restaurant so I started giving them the benefit of the doubt for not picking up my call earlier. BUT the phone rung and they picked it up, so I was not pleased at the inconsistency. We didn't have to wait too long for our meal. When we got home , we noticed that they gave us 2 jerk chicken meals but not the original order we asked for and to add insult to injury there were not utensils or napkins added to our bag. I visited close to closing and through they had stew beef and maybe oxtails left I settled for chicken and vegetables patties. They have been on a role lately. Our first experience was not great. However since then we have had 5 good experiences. What I like is their consistent delivery of flavor with regards the Jerk and Curry chicken and the tenderness of the Oxtail. The cabbage is flavorful with a hint of spiciness, and the plantains are usually sweet. The patties are delicious, especially the Veggie. They are made in house and they often run out by 5pm. They say the Festival is available on the weekends but they never have when I place my order. I'm very pleased with Yaad Pot. My wife and I came from Edison to try this place as we aren't happy with the Jamaican food near us. We are glad we did. I ordered the jerk chicken meal and a chicken patty. My wife ordered the curry shrimp with a veggie patty. I waited just a few extra minutes for the patties to be made. I ended up with a beef patty but it was really good so it didn't bother me. The jerk chicken was very well seasoned. I really enjoyed it along with the cabbage, plantains and rice. I didn't have any of my wife's shrimp but she said she enjoyed it despite it being a little spicy for her. Overall, it was a great first time experience. The service from the woman and the gentleman who helped me was good and the food was good as well. I will definitely be eating here again in the near future. My first time visiting I had the oxtail, white rice, cabbage and plantains. Excellent taste oxtails was a good size/portion. The only thing is my rice wasn't as fluffy it was kind of mushy not loose. I think they cover my rice when warming it up. You can't cover rice when warming it will make it mushy and stick together. We exchanged small chatter. Food was very hot (temp) and decently priced. I also ordered curry chicken for my hubby and a chicken patty for my little one. I had 3 decent sized chunks of goat. Definitely disappointed for a large order. About two tablespoons of cabbage, 3 medium slices of plantain and of course plenty of rice and peas. The flavor was pretty good. I don't expect to have half of my plate of goat, but with all the rice, what am I going to eat for left overs? Rice and the 1 plantain I didn't eat and 1/2 of the piece of goat.
