Marilla country store holds enormous appeal for adults as well as children. Upon entering the store, my two young grandsons began begging to buy something. I held them off for the better part of an hour after which they picked out a substantial amount of candy at the registers. This is the ideal place to find primitive and modern farmhouse country decor. They have beautiful textiles, housewares and dishware. There's also an enormous selection of gifts, fashions, accessories, and about 1 million different sprinkles in their cake decorating corner My two little guys enjoy the overall antique appearance of the building, but especially on the second floor. The museum holds a great allure to them. We did stop at the candy counter and bring home a box of hand-dipped chocolates, and some unusual gummy candies. We had a great time! read more

This place is super cute! Has an old time feel to it. Reminds me of when I was little with all the candy on the wall and the little Knick knacks to choose from. They have a deli and a lot of prepackaged dry goods selection. Some of the house decor is a little higher priced. I found some really cute stuffed veggie toys but they were nearly $60! Yikes. I thought "Marilla" was someone's great-aunt who made potato salad and wore sensible shoes. Turns out, it's an actual town, smack dab in the middle of no-damn-where--and completely worth the trip. Walking into Marilla Country Store feels like stepping onto the set of The Andy Griffith Show. This place is amazing! It's like a smaller version of East Aurora's Vidlers. So many cool foods to try and home items to play with! I am obsessed with their fudge, which is always fresh and reasonably priced. They have 16 different flavors - the peanut butter cup is my favorite, followed by the raspberry vanilla! Sooooo good. They have so many different sweets to choose from. Including chocolate covered Oreos which are another weakness of mine. The staff was super friendly and helped me find everything I was looking for. It used to be my favorite gift shop but now when you walk into the entrance it's a women's clothing shop with alot of folded jeans and some sweaters. It used to have cute gifts snd home decor in that area and my husband loved to shop there with me or for me. They put Buffalo bills items upstairs (I could get that stuff anywhere and everywhere.) Women's robes hanging when you walk into the main room upstairs. I loved that shop and appreciated going there for its uniqueness. Im not going to be bringing friends, relatives and out of town guests to see folded jeans and clothes!! Really dumb decision making changing what worked!! I literally spent thousands there as I bought furniture pieces and gifts. My sil bought so much she had to take it to UPS to have it shipped! read more

In light of the Coronavirus restrictions, we took a country drive with our dog. Of all the grocery stores out there, this one has so much country charm! Most everything was still fully stocked. And a huge plus, there weren't many people inside. They were cleaning when we walked in!! I also noticed they offer curb side pick up We got Costanzo Rolls, fresh sliced deli, cleaning supplies, nuts, dried fruit, and a nice selection of fancy cheese at a ver reasonable price. THEY STILL HAD TOILET PAPER!!! there was a limit, but it was available. I heard the woman at the counter say they were out of liquid milk, but the had powdered milk in stock. read more

Have nothing to do and need somewhere to go. This place looks small on the outstide, but quite big on the inside. They utilize all their space very well and that it what makes this place special. The down stairs has many different things to look at and buy. The food items and kitchen items take time to go through. But they have things you need but would never think to buy. If that makes sense. The upstairs has many craft and home good items. Again, it will take time to peruse the store, but it is well worth the time. It may be a place to find that perfect gift. I had a friend tell me about this place originally, and have always wanted to make the trip out to Marilla but never seemed to have the time until recently. Safe to say it's well worth the 30 minute trip from the Buffalo area, and absolutely a necessary stop if you're heading out that way anyway! This place reminded me very much of Vidler's; not as massively extensive but beautifully packed with all sorts of fun seasonal decor and snacks on the first floor, and a good array of home decor on the second floor. You'll find anything you could think to find at a country store here - candles, soaps, 'farm' themed decor items, linens, Amish-made furniture, even fake florals. On the bottom floor they have cases full of chocolates and candy. I found a part of the store with all different flavors of yogurt-covered pretzels, my FAVORITE snack that definitely isn't easy to come by at your average store. (They had flavors like strawberry, blueberry, key lime...the list goes on. Huge props.) I really enjoyed the wall of 'old fashioned' toys, like your classic 'Bug Out Bob'. They also had Bat Houses, which I didn't know was a thing you could find at a country store? But apparently they hold up to ten bats! Also many bird feeders and even squirrel feeders. One incredibly redeeming quality about this place is its history! It does a fantastic job maintaining the historic value of the country store. The store has been around since 1851 and still stands with its original wood floors, counters, and light fixtures. Also, there is a secret museum upstairs in the back of the building! The museum is absolutely packed with old artifacts ranging from crates to jars and bottles, literally anything you might think to find in a country store from the late 1800's. There is an old music box inside as well, and when we visited it was playing "My Heart Will Go On" from Titanic. All in all, this place is most definitely a destination for shoppers and history-lovers alike. I am very excited to visit again! read more

It's a holiday season must visit for me, since I always exit with something I couldn't easily find anywhere else. Like interesting candlestick holders and hand dipped beeswax candles for the table. Unusual Christmas ornaments. Drawer pulls unlike a Home Depot dime-a-dozen. Signage. Old fashioned toys, cool ones. Greeting cards. Cookie cutters and kitchen gadgets. Edibles and old time candy selections. The very best part though? Customer service! They even wrap your gifts, no matter if it's a child-sized rolling pin or a piece of jewelry, in a delightful way, tissue wrap, raffia ribbon. Your recipient will think you've gone all out. Wow, what a destination shop! If you're familiar with Vidlers in East Aurora, this is all of *that* packed into a quarter of the space. There are rooms filled (and I mean literally filled from floor to ceiling) with craft items, home decor, kitchen gear, clothing, garden decorations, homemade Amish goods, snacks, and there's even a "museum room" filled with antiques. The creaking wood floorboards hold the majority of the character of this place. It's charming, it's whimsical, and it's slightly overpriced but you almost don't care because you're paying for the ambience too. If there was anything I'd change, it would be to add a bigger restroom on the lower level. The only restroom is a tiny little thing tucked into a space on the second floor. None of this building is handicap accessible, especially the restroom. I had to change my baby on the smelly bathroom floor, ick. In hindsight, I should've just taken her out to the car to do it. That's the reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5. I wish I could take a stroller through, but they would have to rearrange soooo much to make everything accessible. I just don't think they can. Keep that in mind if you're thinking about visiting with children. That being said, this store is worth the drive from wherever you're coming from. Tip: try the roasted almonds before you leave. It's amazing how much this store has. I like the fresh made sandwiches from the well stocked deli (pictures of deli menu items included). Seriously though this place goes on and on with a second level and they are expanding into the old Post Office next door early 2019. If you are visiting anywhere in Western NY you should take a trip to the Marilla Country Store! I was recently visiting m sister and she took me here just to show me the cute little store a couple towns over from her. It is so unique and has an amazing selection of items. I bought Maple BBQ sauce, Loganberry jam, earrings, a t-shirt, a stuffed animal, bulk gummy candies, a kazoo, a toy for my daughter, and a few other items. I had not intended on buying anything and just couldn't resist! I would have forked over $400 for some TV trays made by the Amish if I could have afforded them. If you live anywhere within 60 miles make sure you bring anyone visiting you from another area to this store, or go there first time if you haven't already. The surrounding countryside also happens to be incredibly beautiful. read more

This place has been on the news multiple times and is fairly popular, particularly during the holiday season (during which I wish you luck trying to weave through the store as it gets super packed!). If you're ever in need of spices for cooking, this is THE place to go! They offer all the spices you would look for in a traditional super market but at a FRACTION of the price! Often times, you get more than the small bottles at the grocery store as well. They have all the usual suspects, plus more unique items like dried red and green diced peppers, and anise stars. Real vanilla beans? About HALF the price of Wegmans (and I'm a huge wegmans fan)! They carry a HUGE selection of decorative sprinkles for baking as well. This isn't just a place to find spices though, they have all sorts of dry goods from oats and granola to flour, cake mixes and soup mixes. The list goes on and on. Looking for something to appease your sweet tooth? They have candy of every variety, including a large selection of sugar free as well. They also carry more odd ball items like older candies. They have all the usual corner store suspects as well, like ice cream, beer and lotto, but when you venture upstairs, you enter a huge gift shop (there are also gifts downstairs in front as well). To really explore this place in it's entirety, you really need to dedicate a couple of hours because every nook & cranny is FULL! What an unexpected treasure in Marilla! This store is so cool/cute! This is what you wish Vidler's in East Aurora was, but isn't - downright charming! Full of cute, quality, tasteful trinkets. A freaking dream of a store. My neighbor recommended coming here after the Cider Mill. It's about a 15 minute drive east from the Mill. It's a totally random old country building, shared with a little post office building. Charming, really. We walked in the front door and right into trinket heaven. Cute jewelry, scarves, other adorable stuff. Walking back into the first floor, they have an ice cream counter and lots of snack items. I found a coloring book for adults here too! I bought the geometric shapes one. They're right on trend with that! Upstairs, oh upstairs... It's another world of trinket delight! When we were here the theme was Halloween for most of the upstairs, but I'm definitely looking forward to returning when the upstairs is Christmas themed. There are also little theme rooms throughout, like a baby themed one, a pet themed one, etc. There's even a store museum room, which I thought was creepy, but nevertheless if you like old museum stuff, you might like this! They have a small clearance room too full of discount stuff. We left here with ice cream cones in hand, and little bags of trinkets. Is there anything better?! Scope this place out! Amazing store!! Take a step back in time with the old fashioned candy, toys and don't forget to go upstairs to the museum! This store has everything, right down to a belly button cleaner! Staff is always so friendly. If you're purchasing a gift for someone, they remove the prices and wrap it up for you, free of charge. They also have a deli/sub shop and ice cream inside. The only negative is my husband gets mad every time I go.... it's impossible to go and not buy something. It's so nostalgic!! we don't live far from this store and I'll tell you, every new season, it's redecorated with new items. Christmas and Halloween are my favorite times to go to this store. Glad I stopped here with my mom to get in the holiday spirit! Really cute place with LOTS of selection. We came this past 2nd weekend of November and the whole large upstairs area was decked out for the holidays. Lots of decor/gifts/fun stuff in all sorts of different themes from pets, wine, outdoors, country, cooking, and more. Kids stuff, Amish furniture, and a small museum of the old style country store completed things. Downstairs, they had cards, general gifts, jewelry, and more. My mom noted that their prices on bulk baking and cooking goods/grains was very reasonable. Had a nice little table with drinks and samples of some of their shortbread cookie varieties out. Just went to the Marilla Country Store today. You need at least a hour to just look. They have beautiful jewelry, old fashioned Xmas deco and a lot of different gift ideas. I plan to give just about everyone on my xmas list gift cards this year. I purchased a lot of items to attach the gift cards to. The spice section is a spot you have to stop at. They have soup mixes bagged and ready to make and dehydrated marshmallows just like from lucky charms cereal. The best way to describe this store is "unique" and a place to stop anytime of the year but extra special during the holidays. Try it, you will love it. read more
