There's a pleasant and inviting yet professional waiting room with a surprisingly good selection of magazines. Not that I base my choice of doctors on something like that... If she didn't have such a long waiting list - I would request Dr. Clark-Sayles as my primary care physician. She's warm and nice to talk to, and I would trust her to find anything wrong with me.

Their quick back-and-neck cracking adjustments only provided temporary relief of my pain symptoms. Dr. Dwight Shaneyfelt (Dr. D) is the first person to show me how address the actual root causes of pain and find consistent relief. Once you spend just a few visits with Dr. D, you realize that "chiropractor" is too insufficient a word to describe his work. I would add to that Healer and Teacher. On each visit, during the pain-relieving adjustments, the doc teaches you about how hard your body works to "keep your eyes level" and walk upright. He provides an education in your personal physiology. You'll frequently hear about the role of cerebral spinal fluid in feeding oxygen to your brain and the function of your musculature including the important Psoas muscle. More than facts, the doc helps you help yourself. He provides a daily regimen of straightforward activities and exercises for you to perform on your own and continue the healing. Dr. D partners with you for your complete wellbeing. His work proves to be unlike any other chiropractic I've experienced. He invests time in you on every visit. Plan to be there anywhere from 25-45 minutes. Prior to the doc, I can't recall a time when I was in a chiropractor's office for more than 7 minutes. The doc is about healing, not pushing you out the door to make room for the next patient. The adjustments Dr. D makes live in an entirely different category themselves. He has never "cracked my neck" like every other place I've been. He explains that those are the smallest vertebrae in your spine. Then he'll work on your thigh muscle or areas in your back and you'll feel your neck relax in response! It's uncanny. So, if your current understanding of chiropractic gives you fear or trepidation, please know you've found the right place. Dr. D's working knowledge of the human body is both encyclopedic and comforting. Visit Dr. D and your body will thank you.

I've had some problems with the Doc, and they're not pretty…read more First, I've been seeing him every week for probably a couple of years. About 30% of the time, my lower back goes OUT when I see him, either immediately after, or later that same day. He tends to be a little rough and insensitive, unfortunately. I'm then faced with 2-3 weeks of hobbling around, and paying for my massage therapist to come several times, and lots of pain. Due to this, I wanted to take a 6 month break from the Doc and work on things myself. The one exercise that got me out of my pain FAST, within two days, was Robin McKenzie's book and set of incredible exercises, "Treat your own back". So I wanted to do that for 6 months since it was working so well. I pay Doc in advance and he had $550 of mine on account. I asked for it back and he kept putting me off (for a couple of months)....and now won't answer my texts. I've noticed the number of clients dwindling in the office when I was going, maybe that's why. But he's holding my money and has taken it. I've contacted American Express and created a charge-back against him. Due to these reasons, I wouldn't recommend Dwight Shaneyfelt. Get the book instead.

The rough can only obscure a gem like Dr. Balt for so long.  Dr. Balt's style precludes traditional "paper" diagnoses, which, at least to me, makes the most sense because no one can maintain with any level of confidence that their thinking and psyche can be wholly and correctly labeled in a box. Let's face it: our thinking is fluid, as our issues may be of mercurial function. Dr. Balt not only fully understands this truth but clearly relates to it in his treatment, which I would describe as medication-assisted psychotherapy.  Seeing Dr. Balt every other week since Summer 2018 has been perhaps the most rewarding experience I've accrued in that same timespan. I had seen other providers, but only Dr. Balt recognized my issues as specific to only me, as a person.  Dr. Balt's "collective" approach assures that you won't be stuck scarfing down tablets for reasons you don't fully understand or agree with, and compromise is the name of the game when loggerheads nears broaching.  Without delving into my personal issues, suffice it to say that complexities have been manifold, and I've honestly actually come to eagerly await each and every meeting with Dr. Balt!
