Warhammer fans will also find a massive selection of miniatures one of the largest I've personally seen along with a staff that clearly cares about the hobby. There's also a strong selection of card games, including Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, and Riftbound. Overall, the selection is excellent, and the staff is knowledgeable, kind, and welcoming. I had genuinely great experiences with the team there. They were helpful, open, and willing to guide me through the store and explain events. The only reason I'm rating my experience a bit lower is because one of the events I attended felt less welcoming to newer players. It seemed like about half the group was made up of very experienced players who were playing to win at a pretty intense level, while the other half included younger players who were just excited to participate, along with people like myself who were still learning and trying to navigate the hobby. As a newer player, the environment felt a little intimidating and discouraging at times. That said, I would still recommend Gamescape North to anyone in the area looking to shop, explore the hobby, or connect with a great staff. I'd just advise newer players to ask questions before jumping into an event blindly, so they can better understand the tone and experience level of the group. I hope to try again in the future and have a better experience.

Staff members are knowledgeable about the products and rules of various games and are happy to take the time to answer any questions you may have. They can also give you good recommendations if you're looking for gifts for others. They pack a surprisingly large inventory into the shop. I love walking by and checking out their cute window displays- they had some beautiful Aura editions of Monopoly and Scrabble in the window last night. They also have a great selection of D&D books, minis, paints, and more. Between the product selection and customer service, I highly recommend stopping by Gamescape for a pleasant shopping experience.

Not only that, but his prices are usually below eBay and others on the secondary market. As a newer collector, I was already a bit nervous about choosing the right boxes, and seeing some items marked significantly higher than retail made me hesitant to buy. For example, the most recent Topps NBA Holiday Box was priced at $60, even though we had just purchased the same box at GameStop for $35 and it's still widely available at that price. Since it doesn't seem to be a rare or hard-to-find product, the markup felt a little excessive. On the positive side, the customer service was genuinely great. The employee who helped us took the time to talk with us and seemed truly willing to assist with anything we needed. That part of the experience definitely stood out in a good way. Several years later, he moved to downtown Novato which is the last location that I visited. A few years ago and after the world changed in March 2020, he found a larger space here and made the move. He carries a full variety of sports cards and memorabilia as well as hosting games on weekends for Magic and Pokemon fans. He also carries card collecting supplies such as sheets, binders, and cases to frame jerseys. I've been fortunate that we are also casual friends so when I am looking for something, he will look for it or source me to where I can get it. With the recent Giants' outfielder from Asia doing a signing event then cancelling it last month, I asked him to help me get two autographed baseballs, one for a friend and the other for me. He's helped me frame jerseys and I've bought cardholders, sheets, and random sports items to give as gifts for friends. I hope to visit their store, likely when I make a road trip to the North Bay. It dates back when one bought parts from San Francisco Radio and Zack's in the City, and Lafayette, Allied and Burnstein-Applebee nationally. Radio Shack was a little store in Boston with limited selection. You don't last that long without being extraordinary. Second, always good, friendly service-- I've always felt that they really liked what they were doing when they worked with you on a purchase. Third, They Know What They're Talking About. They didn't learn their stuff from a set of scripts and PowerPoints. They know their chips, the color codes on their resistors, and why some electrolytics went bad a few years back. And they sell you the right product, because they understand how electronics work. (For a long time, they even had a tube tester in the back and I bought tubes from them). However that does not excuse terrible customer service. Their salesperson sold me electric adapters for travel in India. Turned out they were the wrong adapters for India. An honest mistake. When I returned these incorrect and unused adapters I asked for a refund. Although this was their error, they refused a refund. Their policy is No Refunds only Exchanges even when the return is due to their own error. So you get stuck with a piece of paper to keep forever in your wallet even if you have no need for any of their products. In this store, the customer is always wrong. Caveat Emptor!
