View of the coastline. One of the many highlights from the ride.

Mountain biking with Nicki was by far the highlight of my trip to San Francisco / Sausalito. Nicki exceeded my expectations in so many ways. I was extremely impressed by how knowledgeable and familiar she was with the mountain and the various different trails. She was able to completely customize the ride for me, ensuring that I got the amazing views of the coastline that I requested while taking my overall fitness level into account. I had an incredibe time and would recommend going mountain biking with Nicki to anyone who is looking to get out of the city and go for a thrilling / challenging ride. I can't forget to mention that Nicki was very generous in offering me some of her energy snacks & water during the ride. She even continued to go the "extra-mile" well after the conclusion of our ride by recommending some of the best fish & chips that Sausalito has to offer. All in all, Nicki was very professional, very friendly, and created an incredible experience that I will not forget. I will without a doubt join her again for a ride through Mount Tam the next time I am in the Bay Area. Go for the ride! You will not be disappointed.

I'm 46 and never thought I'd get in the ocean let alone surf but I knew Nicki and I knew I could trust her.

Free parking lot. Empty when I arrived in the morning, but no spaces by the afternoon. It is a pretty peaceful beach. It doesn't really have a tourist feel that some beach areas have since it's just the beach itself (no shops/food or anything like that). It's not a huge area, but we came during low tide and walked around the more rocky area before the tide started rising. They do have restrooms at the parking lot. Although, the restrooms were disgusting when I was there, so I'd avoid it if possible. (Not flushing toilets.)

The ocean isn't bright blue like postcards, it's deep gray-green, powerful, and constantly moving. The waves don't gently roll in... they crash. You feel it in your chest before you even step on the sand. The sand is darker and softer than most beaches, almost cool even in the sun. Behind you are tall grasses and weathered driftwood, not hotels. In front of you is nothing but horizon. There's a small creek cutting through the beach and a wooden bridge crossing it, which somehow makes the whole place feel more like a nature preserve than a tourist stop. People aren't blasting music or playing volleyball, they're walking, breathing, taking pictures, or just sitting quietly watching the water. If you want a loud beach day, this isn't it. If you want to slow down and actually feel the ocean, this is one of the most peaceful places near San Francisco.

I knew in advance that on Thursdays (2nd & 4th weeks only), the public street parking in front of the building was off limits for street sweeping/no parking between 7am-11am, so I got very lucky pulling up in front at 11am sharp. Nice. Easy walk. The Foster Museum was very simple, decent, positive, and relaxing environment filled with gorgeous nature views/sketches/watercolor artworks by the U.K. artist, Tony Foster. Good feeling here. Free admissions and good customer service staffs. You can just walk in or register online. There's a tiny gift area not far from the public restrooms. I signed the guestbook at the end of my walk. Good place to hang around/includes unlimited paper, paper/pencils/samples/etc. If you like to sketch and get some creative inspirations, all the nature artworks in the gallery is definitely a good place to start. Not huge, but perfectly quite and calm for art lovers. You can request for an orientation and/or tour as desired. Great first impression during first visit. It's the positive feeling I get from observing the energy and various colorful artworks. Simple and stress-free. Good value/free admissions is totally worth the 1-2 hours here. They also host art classes too, but I will need to take time to browse around online. Good vibes. Staffs are friendly inside. Hidden place. Love it.
