We did a bioluminescence tour with PRAC and it was amazing. As an experienced kayaker and prior guide I can say that these people are a class act. Everything was prepped and ready to go, safety was a main point, and the naturalistic vibes made the experience super interesting. The bioluminescence was off the hook, the rays were swooping and jumping, and the elk were bugging! I could not recommend these guys more! read more

My partner, a friend, and I did a nighttime bioluminescence paddle in March and it was SO AMAZING! Point Reyes Adventure Co. outfitted us with really nice paddle jackets and spray skirts to keep us dry, the pace was very accessible, and the bioluminescence was total magic. The tour included some nice surprise amenities which I won't spoil: you'll have to book a tour to find out. I would go again in a heartbeat. We absolutely loved our Tuesday "Sick Day" https://pointreyesadventureco.com/sick-day-midweek-tour to the Oyster Beds in Tomales Bay with Pt Reyes Adventure Co.! We were off to a great start when our guide brought coffee, tea and fresh baked goods from a local bakery. The kayak tour took us for an up close look at the actual oyster beds. We learned a lot about them from our knowledgeable and fun guide...like one oyster filters 40 gallons of water in a day! We proceeded on around Hog Island and to the far shore of Tomales Bay. We saw bat rays, tiger sharks, star fish, and got a "squirt symphony" from the attached bi-valves. We followed this with a midday Whole Hog tour at the Hog Island Oyster Company a mile down the road in Marshall. We learned so much about the life cycle of oysters as well as the processes, sustainability, history and growth of the business. And we shucked and ate generous amounts of fresh oysters followed by grilled oysters and then a cheese platter....delicious and filling. We HIGHLY recommend this inspired combination of tours that you that you can do in a single day! read more

Dallas and Liz are incredible!! We enjoyed an amazing scenic 4hr kayak tour of Tomales Bay, led by Liz. Liz is extremely knowledgeable about both the local habitat as well as about the history of the area. We are not experienced kayakers, but found the day so enjoyable and more than manageable, physically. We saw a large amount of wildlife as well as marine vegetation. Dallas and Liz provided all of the necessary gear, safety equipment and orientation, as well as a beautiful selection of local coffee and treats! I booked the 3 hour Tomales Bay paddling tour for a group of 18 scouts and adults, and we all had a fantastic experience! From the initial booking through the end of our tour, Liz and Dallas were amazing, with many years of guiding experience and knowledge about the local area. We showed up on a drizzling morning and were greeted with pastries from a local bakery, hot chocolate and coffee. What a yummy way to start our day, and just what we needed to get warm! I love how Liz and Dallas showcases local food, including a hot chocolate made from mushrooms from a local grower. It was also clear how much thought Liz and Dallas put into selecting their equipment, including providing reusable mugs rather than disposable plastic cups. Even the jug for strawberry lemonade wasn't made out of plastic. Dallas also provided an organic sunscreen that he makes himself, and this was just another nice thoughtful touch. Liz and Dallas then went over safety and paddling basics, and even our novice paddlers felt comfortable. They provided all equipment needed, including dry bags and spray jackets which helped us and our belongings stay dry. We got onto the water, and Tomales Bay was even more beautiful when the sun started coming out. Most of our group got the hang of using sea kayaks (most of us had only kayaked with sit on tops before) quickly, and while some of our younger paddlers had a bit of difficulty, both Liz and Dallas were very patient and even towed a boat or two when they needed some help. We kayaked across Tomales Bay and stopped for a break and lunch on the beach. Liz and Dallas educated us about local geology, flora and fauna, and gave the scouts a mnemonic that will help them always recognize poison oak! The wind and waves picked up a bit on the kayak back across, which made the tour a bit more adventurous. Liz and Dallas, with their experience, had us kayak close to the coast and overshoot our destination a bit, so we could use the wind to help us get back. What a great day with Point Reyes Adventure Co! Don't hesitate to book with Liz and Dallas. I can't recommend Point Reyes Adventure Co. enough! We rented a two-person kayak and Dallas and Liz were great. Fair pricing, clear communication, and nice follow-ups after booking. They even dropped off and picked up the kayaks from our launch point. And when they weather turned sour and we didn't quite make it back to our launch point (oops!), they found us at the beach where we stopped short and rescued us. Without cellphone service, too! We didn't realize it, but they had kept an eye on the winds, saw it'd be a hard paddle back, and looked out for when we left our camping spot. And when it was taking a bit long, they were going up and down the shore to keep an eye on us. I was literally heading to the road to walk back to the launch point as Dallas pulled in and waved. read more

It was the best guided adventure I have ever been on. It was Anna's first camping experience in a wilderness area, and she also got to eat her first oysters. Apart from seeing lots of bioluminescence from our kayaks and our campsite, we saw otters, bat rays, seals, assorted jelly fish, lots of different birds, a fox , a coyote, and elk, including baby elk palying and doing zoomies in the shallows of a cove. read more
