I was offered a different vehicle but told I'd have to pay an extra $20+ per day because it was an "upgrade," even though Sixt could not honor the original reservation. When I calmly explained that I should not be charged more for Sixt's error and said I would take the car and contact customer service afterward, the employee refused to help me, said the location was closed, and told me to leave--at approximately 4:04pm. I was left without a car during rush hour and was late picking up my two kids from school. I was never rude or disrespectful at any point. Shocking lack of customer service. After returning the car, I received a claim for new damage for conditions that were pre-existing. Because I had read numerous online reviews mentioning this specific issue at this location, I was prepared. I had time-stamped video proof showing the damage was present at the time of pickup. If this happens to you, since this seems to be a pattern at this location, do what I did: use your video evidence to file a formal complaint with the Los Angeles County Department of Consumer & Business Affairs. Rent elsewhere, or video everything wrong with the car. This location cannot be trusted.
