Sites like Jalopnik, The Truth About Cars, and Autoblog speculate about Mitsubishi withdrawing from the US market completely. The exhilarating Subaru WRX STI killer, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X will be discontinued after the 2015 model year... Why? Lagging sales? Most likely, and I think I know why. Like 70,000 other people in the Rochester area, I received a mailer regarding an August promotion with the opportunity to win a new car, Nintendo Wii, or $100! The scratch off on the back revealed that I indeed was eligible for the $100 prize! What a lucky day! I put my girlfriend in the car and we crossed Irondequoit Bay and headed to Marina Mitsubishi on Ridge Road in Webster. The woman at the front desk informed me that the mailer meant I was eligible to win a $100 prize. Not all $100 prizes were awarded, so there was a chance I could actually win the prize shown, but I needed to provide some information first. A man comes over carrying a styrofoam tray of fried food, clears his throat and introduces himself as "Joe." Joe brings my girlfriend and I over to a table where he only asked me for my name to fill out some sort of prize form/customer profile. I mentioned that I was casually looking and it was my girlfriend who is immediately in the market for a car, so he begins to take down her info on a new sheet. Apparently, crunching numbers and coming up with an idea of an ideal monthly payment, followed by a credit check was necessary to look their used inventory. His sales approach was incredibly insincere and devoid of any understanding of me or my girlfriend. The "two" cars the sales managers in the glass office wanted us to look at included a clapped out last gen Toyota Corolla that was just traded in minutes before (the previous owner was still taking items out of the trunk) and a high mileage Chrysler 200 that clearly had body fitment problems. We were unimpressed with the cars we were "allowed" to look at and declined to take a test drive. The payments we suggested as an ideal during our impersonal meeting inside would have put us in a Lancer, or Outlander Sport, per the mailer sent to my house. After we returned to the showroom floor, we were informed that we did not win the $100 prize pictured on my scratch off mailer, and the $5 gift card consolation prize was unavailable. In short, we won nothing. On the drive home, reflecting on this depressing dealer experience, it became clear that the reason why Mitsubishi struggles in the US market is because their dealerships do a poor job of selling their product. Crummy gimmicks, lackadaisical sales staff, and emphasis on selling used cars from other makes drives people away from the Mitsubishi brand. Whereas a Honda, Toyota, or Subaru dealer would encourage you to look at off lease or certified used vehicles, the folks at Marina Mitsubishi would rather you look at a smelly Corolla with a dash that lights up like a Christmas tree, bald tires on all four corners, and a mirror held on with zip ties. Even though it's been years since I owned a Japanese car (I prefer to buy European luxury and performance cars), I was receptive to the idea of a Mitsubishi. If I do consider a Mitsubishi in the future, and if they're still around, I can assure you, it won't be from Marina.

This was the work their body shop did. You can clearly see bumper doesn't match. They did it twice and still not exact match. Disappointed.

I purchased a outlander sport on October 25th and was told at time of delivery that rear bumper had damage. They said it would be fixed and received it back with bumper color not matching. I brought it back and they sent it out a second time. Received it back again not fully matching. Then 2 days after getting it back the service engine light comes on. I'm like you've got to be kidding me. Ask for a loaner and was told they didn't have 1 and I'd have to schedule an appointment. Unreal. Absolutely beyond frustrated. I would never recommend buying from them nor would I ever again. Buyer beware.

And as I left I asked again, very specifically if the underbelly covers were re-secured and I was told yes. It turns out that was a false statement and they just performed the other service request on the WO. Not sure how much more specific I could be, plus when I called their sales team transferred me to a voicemail line.

We entered discussions regarding the sale of our 2024 Tesla Model Y. After receiving what we believed was an extremely low-ball offer, we decided not to move forward with the transaction. The situation became even more concerning when a check that had been issued was subsequently subjected to a stop payment. As a result, we repossessed and retained possession of the vehicle. Months after the vehicle had been back in our possession, we were shocked to discover that the dealership had reportedly caused the vehicle to be flagged as stolen through law enforcement channels, despite the fact that the vehicle had never been fully paid for and had already been recovered by us. This created significant hardship and disruption. Being associated with a stolen vehicle report can have serious consequences, and it negatively impacted our ability to use and enjoy a vehicle that was lawfully in our possession. The entire ordeal has felt unnecessary, retaliatory, and completely avoidable. What should have been a simple failed business transaction escalated into months of stress, inconvenience, and uncertainty. Rather than resolving the matter professionally and moving on, actions were taken that created additional complications for everyone involved. We have repeatedly requested that Marina Chrysler contact the appropriate authorities to immediately correct any stolen vehicle report and ensure that all records accurately reflect the status of the vehicle. At this point, our only goal is to have the matter resolved properly and to cut ties amicably so all parties can move forward. Businesses are judged not only by how they handle successful transactions but also by how they handle deals that fall through. Based on our experience, Marina Chrysler failed that test. We expected professionalism, transparency, and accountability. Instead, we were left dealing with unnecessary complications that should never have occurred. I strongly encourage anyone considering doing business with this dealership to thoroughly document every communication, retain copies of all paperwork, and ensure that any transaction is fully completed and funded before relinquishing control of a vehicle. We sincerely hope management takes steps to resolve this matter immediately and prevent similar situations from affecting other customers in the future.

The rear brakes and Rotors were good, some wear as the were a little over 1 year old, and maybe 20k on them. The fronts, were done a while longer, so I decided to change them, I did both the pads and Rotors. My wife brough it in, and they said that it failed inspection, as the back brakes were scraping on the rotors, and it would be over $500. I WAS FURIOUS! My wife told them that I just looked at them, there was plenty of pad on all the back brakes. They said NOPE!!! That being said, I bit my lip, and redid the back brakes, pads and Rotors, and made another appointment. This time, they told my wife they could not inspect it, as the computer was not ready for emissions test. I was like WHAT???? We did not disconnect the battery, had it jumped or ANYTHING LIKE THAT. The ONLY logical explanation is that THEY reset it. They EVEN told my wife to take it somewhere else to have it inspected. I saved the pads, and the rotors, and will be filing a complaint against them through the Bureau of Consumer & Facility Services, Department of Motor Vehicles. I see similar complaints here as well, I recommend others do the same so they get their licenses pulled.
